I have been looking for this and have not been able to find anything about it. I noticed that the Geforce 6800GS had the same chipset as the 6800 but with the 110 instead of 130. On the 6800, you can unlock the 4 pixelpipelines to make it 16 and I was wondering if this is also the case with the 6800GS?

What you should do is find a program that can test your hardware. It may be power or it may be overheating. Go to the HDD manufacturers website and download their program and test your harddrives. You may also want to test your RAM. If you have more than one stick, pull one out at a time and see if the system locks up or not. Try different slots to make sure it isn't a bad slot. Looking at it though, it is probably your powersupply. While it is a good brand, with that much running through it, you still arent supplying enough power to the system. I had a 450watt system and my specs are: geofrce 6600GT OCed, 512MB pc3200 dual channel RAM, two 120GB HDD in a RAID 0 configuration, DVD and CD burner, Athlon xp 2500+ oced to 2.2GHz, multiple fans, Gigabyte GA-7n400 pro2 mobo, and my powersupply went out on me. I now have a 520watt powersupply and it runs smoothly. also, check your cpu to make sure its good. a good program you can use is PCCertify. Google it to find it.

Chaintech 6600gt 128mb AGP-HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wizard8873 replied to monkeybrain's topic in Hardware
I had the same problem with my 6600gt. take off the side panel of ur case and put a normal house fan up to it. try to run a game and see if the problem happens. if it does then you need more cooling. the 6600gt agp's have a horrible overheating problem. the bridge to convert the signal to agp overheats and it is undercooled. if that doesnt help it, you might want to try another powersupply and see if that happens. powersupply are one of the weakest parts in a computer. theyre usually the most common problem makers. try those two things first before you start thinking you have a bad videocard. once you do get it running, you'll love the card. its just needs a lot of cooling. i have 3 additional fans running on mine to keep it cool. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811999468 theres the link if you want to check it out. works great for my cooling needs. -
you are experiencing one of three problems: the first is that your power supply isn't putting out enough juice to run everything. The second is that your card is over heating. lastly, you might have a bad card. I had the same problem on my pc except that mine is and agp card not pci-e. open your case and put a normal house fan to the side. if the problem goes away, then you know u need more cooling. if it continues to have the same problem, try another power supply. if the problem is still occuring, see if one of your friends that has a 6600GT thatll let you try it out on your PC and he'll try yours on his PC. If it runs fine on his PC then its probably the motherboard.

Cannot clone IDE drive to SATA drive in same system
wizard8873 replied to stormonts's topic in Hardware
I recently did such a move. Its probably crashing because its pointing to the IDE drivers. assuming that all the pcs have the same data, what you have to do is this: take one of the machines with SATA and image it. Next, put in the installtion cd and load up the SATA drivers at the beginning. once they load up, continue to repair the machine. choose the second repair selection as the first one won't do what you need it to do. to get there, just go about as if you are installing windows. accept the terms and then you should get a repair selection. repair the pc and make sure that it works. finally, make an image of the computer and then just blast it onto the other computers. that should fix the problem. I did this with ghost 7.5 instead of 9. if each pc has different data, then you'll have to repair each one. -
I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to network xp home to xp pro and 2000 pro?

I have a GA-7N400 Pro2 Rev2 and I want to buy the Asus Star Ice universal CPU Coller. Now the problem is that there is a capacitor right next to the CPU socket (inbetween the back and the socket). The Asus Star points that way and I was wondering if anyone here has the same board and HSF? I tried contacting Asus and Gigabyte but both told me to check the measurements. I've tried checking the web but no one has posting anything about MB compatibility. Does anyone know if this will fit on without hitting the capacitor?

what are your other specs? the 9290 should run it but being pci, it doesnt get as good of a transfer rate over the bus as an agp card. make sure you have all of the right drivers and that theyre fully updated

all of your hardware looks to be fine. make sure u also have all the drivers for everything. also, what kind of video card do you have? I have heard of the game being played geforce4 mx440's and sometimes lower. if you have something better, it could be that your computer is overheating. i had a problem just like this but only after playing for a few minutes. open your case up and put a normal household fan next to it. if this solves the problem then you are having problems with overheating and will need to get either a HSF for the video and/or processor or more fans in your case.

I am planning to purchase the Vantec EZ-swap SATA rack for my two drives but i have one concern. I am running the at raid 0 and i'm worried that they wont work with the rack since the racks have jumpers on them. knowing the sata doesnt need jumpers, does anyone know if the setup will still work?
