i have a very annoying sister (who likes to delete all my files whenever she gets angry). is there any way to put a password on a hard drive? if not, then is here any way to password protect my files on a drive? (i have tried winzip and secureIT, but it makes a copy of yur original, and becomes very tedious coz every time you have to unzip songs and delete them again, etc).

i was wondering ....will this technique work if i create a password on my account which is ALSO a limited account? can a limted account user view the contents of another password protected limited user account? (i prefer keeping my account limites as well)

(continued....) i recently read an article where it says that in winxp/2000, the user can create something like a link between one drive (drive c) and another (drive d) in case there is no space left on drive c by creating a folder in drive d and following some procedure....(its a loooong procedure) to create the link. the system then treats this "folder" as its own system folder (ie as a part of drive c itself). now users (limited account users) cannot access files that are in other password protected accounts (C: \Documents and Settings\User1). can i then convert my own folder into one of the sytem folders so tht u need password to open it? ((in case u need any kind of explantion to this problem, lemme know, i'll gladly explain it all over again))

i have some spywares on my comp. whenever i type a new address in the address bar of internet exploer, i get redirected to random internet sites, one of which is: "http://80.77.87.190/drugs1/". how do i remove this? also, i have some program names tht appear on the msconfig (startup tab) even though these programs were uninstalled loong time bak. is there any way to remove thes names from here?

ok... i went thru "hosts" in C:/Windows... there were some instructions and one entry (the default one), nothing else... i ran norton antivirus 2004 (updated), no threats found. but i still get tht web page (http://80.77.87.190/drugs1/) also i want to remove some program name frm the msconfig startup list...

hi.. i had brought up this topic earlier, but cant seem to find it anymore.... i m running XP on drive d and win98se on drive c. i want to reinstall my win98 (got some problems). but i fear that i may not be able to boot xp again (the startup menu does not appear). 1. Microsoft XP Professional 2. Microsoft Windows i dont wanna reinstall xp again just to get the startup menu. is there anyway to get the startup menu after installing win98 without reinstalling winxp?

in most of my folders i have a file named Thumbs.db. what is this file? i've never noticed this file before. is it a virus? i've tried deleting them before but they somehow do not get removed and remain there.

i recently installed win98 on C Drive. then i installed direct X 8.1. after installtion when i restarted my PC, i got a Dxdllreg error. i dunno how it happened, but i restarted my PC and i had my CD drive back once again. thanx anyway!

i visited the link as mentioned above, got the zip file. i then uninstalled my already installed driver and restarted my PC. when i went to install the driver again, the system prompts me to locate "Pw5017.cat" file (the file that has been provided with the zip file is a "Pw5018.cat" file and so this file is not being accepted). thus i cannot install this driver. also, i don't think there is anything wrong with this driver. i feel so because i had been using this driver on previous occassions as well and it worked fine. in fact when i reinstalled windows, i had my sounds working for me. this problem started only recently. i have installed the same driver (which i had earlier - using Pw5017.cat). there is still no sound available.

none of the mp3 files work. only videos (no sound, though) yes, "c:\windows\media" exists.

i have Win xp. my display driver (SiS 6326) shows me an error in hardware manager(yellow exlamation mark in front of it). i need 2 update this driver. display proerties dos not show me any options (such as APPEARANCE, SETTINGS, etc) but dunno where to find it on the net. any suggestions? i have SiS 6326 Driver 1.32 for 98/ME. when i tried to run its setup.exe, i got an error and the setup closed. wht do i do? help me!!!!

i have Win98 and WinXP. recently i got a unmountable boot vol screen. i thought of using my Win Xp cd and tried to use the recovery console. somehow my pc started again. heres the problem: when i start my PC now, i get three options at my startup: 1. Microsoft XP Professional 2. Microsoft Windows 3. Microsoft XP Professional Setup i want to remove the third option, without reinstalling windows. any suggestions?

i m new to GTA 2... 1. how do i save my game? there is an potion in the user menu to RESUME SAVED STATUS, but it is enabled? how do i use it? 2. how do i apply a cheat? for example: for all weapons, it says to change name to NAVARONE. once the game starts..nothing happens?

oh! fine i have completed the first level. now my problem is that where do i find the "Save Jesus" in level 2? i have looked in almost every part of the city. 1. how many levels are there in GTA2? 2. can u give me the location of the area where i can find the Save signs for each level (for eg: "The Village" or something)?

wht do i have to do when i get to the Jesus saves sign? do i have to type anything or does the game save itself automatically? my score was $64,000 and i had completed 3 jobs. i went to the Jesus Saves sign and nothing happened. when i went to the main menu to check... the "resume saved status" was still locked.
