is there a way that i could open my 3dmax4 files on 3d max3 i try installing 3d max4 on windows xp i got it to installed but i get a error message "A license error has accurred. Please restart your system to initialize the license management system. If this problem continues, contact your system administrator or authorized deale. erro(7.1.29" error2 "the Software license failed to initialize(error 7) help pleaze i cannot loose this 2 very important files

hi recently i had to format my hardrive and i updated my system from windows 2000 professional to windows xp but for some weird reason it wont let me install 3d max 4 i get this error message "could not copy c:\documents and settings\administrator\3dmax4\eula\adsklicense.ini intallation may not fucntion properly. Please cancel installation. i can however install 3d max 3 but since i made all my models in 3dmax 4 i cant opend them in version 3 can anyone help me out please what can i do or what am i missing
