Ok I already had the 32everything ... I removed it and WOOHOO magic it works now ! So try removing/adding it .... I highly suggest you to patch it to 1.7 first If you got any problem patching e-mail me darkzeolot@hotmail.com

ok. Are you using a router or direct connection (Lan to Lan port) ??? You shouldn't have any problem using a router. If it's direct connection you must use the Windows XP CD to set the network on the win2k comp. If you need more detail just write back here and I'll try to give you the full step to set up your network.

CS 1.6 is not really optimized for new video card. It's based on half-life which is old. but what is your desktop resolution ??? Try setting the same rez in game and on the desktop. Are you using OpenGL , D3D or software mode ??? D3D is slower than OpenGL and trust me ... the only difference between our comp is 40gig of hdd space and I can my fps up in the 70+ except in non-official map like fy_icewolrd2k.

It lasted longer without crashing with the new BIOS but I get back and checked the setting in it. Some of them were messed up like the AGP memory and some support things.

Ok I just verified and my BIOS was 1004.003 which is the factory one .... I guess I flashed the BIOS somehow when moving or replugging things on it. I installed the last beta BIOS and dled the final one just in case. I'll post back the result later.

Asus P4P800 SE (BIOS 1008.04) a 1009.01 beta version is available Pentium 4 3.0E Ghz HT Onboard sound Onboard LAN ATI Radeon 9200 SE Logitech Optical Mouse generic keyboard here's the problem. I took my comp to my friend house because we were doing a LAN. Everything worked fine except that I got infected with Trojan.Agent.8B or something like this but I got rid of it pretty fast (with AVG)but it deleted cisvc.exe (not able to heal). WhenI came back home and plugged all the stuff I put the mouse in the keyboard port and vice-versa. I rebooted 3 time before I noticed and I replugged them correctly. When I restarted my comp I had a message that said the overclock had failed but the system continued booting and I got in Windows. I played CS:S for about 3 hours and then the comp froze. I could still see the connection error flashing in the top-right corner of the screen but nor my keyboard or my mouse responded. After this it kept crashing randomly. The programs look to keep running but the only thing I can do is hit reset on my comp. Oh yeah I had to remove the heatsink to clean it but I didn't had any "thermal paste" to put between the CPU and the heatsink so this might be a problem too. At 60% load the CPU get in the mid 50 celcius Any idea on what is crashing up my comp ??? Well I'll prefer solution but I'm gonna buy the thermal paste right away and I'll see if it solve the problem but everything ran fine before. Thanks for your help

Ok I tried everything you suggested and nothing worked :S And I got more problem : I can't use debug mode with Visual Studio .NET 2003. every time I try it I got a message like this : Unable to start debugging Unable to start program c:/(bla bla bla)... Anyways I'll format my comp I think it's the best thing to do now. -
properties window slow to appear
HyperBlade replied to HyperBlade's topic in Everything New Technology
Yep file's properties window but I tried it and it's not fixed :S -
I got a P4 3.0 Ghz and 512 Mb ram so thats not the problem. Since a few days the properties window is very slow to appear (30 sec at least) I ran avg , norton , ad-aware, spybot and it's still damn slow. The last thing I installed is iTunes. Any idea on whats wrong ? Thx

Yeah I think so. The game close itself after 2 hours of play but hey it's still a big 2 hour just need to remember to save.

More simple than all this : clean your fan and cooler ... I had this prob with my P4 3.0Ghz temp was at 55 - 60. Not that I cleaned it I never go over 45. Check if there's enough "thermal glue" (sorry I dont know the name of it) between your processor and the cooler

Oh yeah I forgot : the game is working perfectly without the patch ...

I tried all what is said about DK2 (I installed it too). here's the problem : I cant patch the game because it said it doesnt find the old file for dkii.exe Do you have any clue what could do this error ??? (Installation is fresh from the box)
