via vid cards best card for the money is the x800 xt pe. there isnt a vid card in the world that can beat it keep in mind you need a 3.0 cpu intel or higher to use the full use of this vid card. i have 1 myself only agp and no one i no can come close to my scores i have recently upgraded to the 3.4 ee intel and my vid card marks went up again with no overclock aquamark 3 gfx 12000 cpu 12000 and thats not shuting down programs if so would be a lot higher mind you my power supply is lacking have new one comeing 680 watt so should be higher. yes get the ati X800 xt peor x850 xt pe if you can

if you had a nivdia card installed before this one you have to be certain all drives and software related to nivida are deleted . are you sure you have a 8x agp slot. do you have the power plug in the card plug in iot requires an external power seprat from the agp slot

to run cc 1st one on xp you have to goto the program icon right click run as then compatibly mode set as win 95 or win 98.it then will work for you.xp has all windows program in 1

i suspect you need to update your firmware on your dvd rom to be able to read the new critera

by the sound of it you have a worm or hidden virus.or your cd/dvd drive firmware is not updated this is a common proplem.if not you need to format and reinstall windows that is the quickest and cheapest way to fix the proplem. complete wipe out and reinstall all info will be lost a computer tech with a server should be able to remove your hard drive and back up all your info then reistall to the fresh system thats if you need al that info. warning it is recommended that you need minamum 512 of ram. have fun thanks ted

did you have an nivida card in there before if so you must delete all drivers they are not compatable. also with your motherboard please submit the board # and seril model make i will check and see if it 8x agp. did you buy this card new or used? if used it my be nfg it which case it is better to go to a computer store/tech to diagnois it with installing a tester card.
