    Help : Need for Speed

I've looked through topics, and noticed that several other people had the same question way back. I however, had trouble in figuring out how to fix it for myself. When I try to run Need for Speed, it shows up an error message : You have DirectX 0. Please install DirectX 7. Could not load ".\drivers\registryz" [FILE=\real\patch3\pc\set3d.c, LINE=273] I can't find where to install DirectX 7, and I DID install the latest one the DirectX9 lately, however it STILL says that I have DirectX0 and need DirectX7 any help would be appreciated. It used to work all the time, I don't understand why it stopped, thanks in advance to anyone that trys to help.

Lol, but where DO you install DirectX7, I spent like an hour searching on google, and did not find anything. It all said you need 98 to install it, I believe and/or, you should get the newer version ; Directx9 anyways, thank you. I'll go uninstall it right now. (the un-installer did NOT work) :\

    Help : Need for Speed

First, I wanna say thank you for everyones replys. Anywho, yeah. I'm running the original one, and I'm running it on my XP, it used to work, like 5 months ago, and then right now, I don't know, I got the urge to play it again, so I put it in, and that message came up. I looked EVERYWHERE for DirectX7, no sites had it to download, then I finally saw Directx7.a I downloaded it, it still said that I had DirectX0 and need Directx7, so then I went and downloaded DIrectX9, and the same message pops up. It still says I only have DirectX0, and I just don't understand why.
