I am receiving a stop error message each time I try to log on. It says that a problem has been detected and windows needs to shut down to protect my computer. It indicates that running a diagnostic memory check might help, or to uninstall any new drivers, software or devices. It also indicates to try changing video adapters. The exact error code is: stop: 0x0000007F (0x0000000D, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). When this first happened I was only checking email in Outlook. There have been no new devices, software or drivers added. I had the laptop connected to a printer earlier before this happened, but this was not a new printer and worked fine when it was connected, so I dont think the printer driver or device is the cause. I have tried to download a RAM testing file from Microsoft, but I can only run the computer in safe mode, and the CD image wont burn correctly. System restore lost every restore point, so that is not an option. Any suggestions on what this could be before I reformat and get new RAM? Thanks!

I just tried to start windows using the steps you provided, and again got the error message ;( I used my Nero CD burner program to burn the boot CD for memtest, and followed what the website said on how to do so. I will try to get into BIOS and change the boot order, but I am not too familiar with working in BIOS so I am not sure how much luck I will have there. The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A75-S2112 and is only 6 months old, so this is frustrating! Thanks for all the help.......... I have a friend coming over tonight to try and help me, I'll post again if I find the solution.

I did check all the drivers and updated all of them, as well as rolled some any new ones back, and this did not help either. I also viewed the system event log and while I am getting errors reported now, there were none when it first happened. the errors indicate a driver as well, but does not specify which one. I did read the link you provided to Microsoft and had read that earlier and that is what makes me think it is corrupted RAM. I have tried to run the memtest download and I can get it to download and then burn an ISO image onto a CD, but I cannot get it to boot. Any suggestions there? Thanks again for your help! If I cant get the CD to boot, I think I am going to take it in somewhere for a diagnostic because I cant think of much more to try!

I have tried last good configuration, and I can get windows to start, but as soon as the main page loads I get the same error message, and it indicates it it is doing a physical memory dump. I have read everything there is to read on these types of errors on microsoft.com, and that is why I am thinking it is the RAM, but I wanted to see if there were any other ideas out there. I will try memtest to see if it tells me any more information. Thanks for the feedback!
