I purchased a new 300gb maxtor hd. When i installed windows xp the 300 gb only shows up as 127gb. no, i do not think i partitioned it. my friend partitioned his ,but it still showed up atleast 270gb. i need help to get that other half gb of the hd.

seems like it was xp's fault... sp1... went with sp2 and it read my other part of the hd. seems like sp1 can read up to 138gb and anything above is unreadable. i fixed it tho. with partition magic. for anyone out there with same prob.

fixed it... the prob had sumthing to do with my jumpers...

got this prob too. would appreciate it if sumone suggest sumthing.i have tried the above...
