first thing you should try would to update your drivers, then plug in the s-video cord to your laptop then to your TV restart the laptop and it should work

I was wandering if anyone knew a way around buying the retail version of windows vista 64 bit edition if i have already purchased the 32 bit oem edition? I've tried upgrading it to the 64 bit but, the microsoft support line says it has to be retail. So I'm thinking if they're not going to be fair about ima have to get sneaky! So any suggestions i'd greatly appreciate.

Has anyone gotten windows vista ultimate, if so then is it worth the extra money? Even if you don't have windows vista ultimate yet I'd still like your opinion

I have a Netgear Router, wgr_614, I have had it for about 6 months now. I've been running on highly slow internet for the majority of that time. Download speeds are good and everything, but it takes forever to load a webpage. So I googled my router and common problems and sure enough they all said it had to do with the SPI firewall, so how do i disable it? And a side note if anyone knows how to change your vlan settings for internet teeming do post too.

Allright I guess I probably shouldn't have made this post considering I found out the cause of the problem myself :]. It was a simple matter of loading the Resource CD and clicking some buttons, then restarting, now everything works except I'm still connected through one connection, which is the ethernet, so other then it's not 1394 im happy.
-
Well I've concluded thats its due to the fact for some reason its not running on the IEEE 1394 (not sure on numbers/letters), but normally on a windows conncection when you connect through a hub you have two connections one the 1394 and the other the hub is this correct? So if that is how would I go about fixing this.

My problem is this I have installed on my computer the 'usb cable 351000' which gives you an option of either, usb or ethernet, I wish to use ethernet. The problem with that is when I plug in my RJ-45 to my NIC and hub it just turns on the little enet led light, and it says im still connected via usb. So what I did was unistall the usb, power washed it, and restarted the computer, still nothing so then I plugged back in my usb and its online only through the usb any help get the ethernet to work? I have one other hub/router called 'Arris touchstone telephony modem' which if need be it I can use. The reason for me needing to switch to ethernet is because I'd like to use my wireless router.

a last side note is it legal or not to; if you have already had bought windows xp you just lost the CD, to use your friends copy of windows xp to reformat it on your system?
-
Well first off, I want you guys to know I'm not just too lazy to look this up on the interent/forum so I did that and this is what I found... http://www.ntcompatible.com/Reformatting_hard_drive_t30788.html What I got from that was this is how you reformat your Hard Drive: 1. Get a copy of Windows XP 2. Change the boot options in the BIOS to 1st CD-Rom, 2nd Hard Drive 3. Insert the CD and restart the computer 4. Once the CD starts up Follow the instructions it says Is this Correct? What is partitioning; Will it say what I need to press to Re-Format the Hard Drive?

Allright I understand all of the above except 2 and 6. Could you please explain more?

I am rebuilding a computer so that it can maximize download speeds, I was wandering whether or not two NICs running at the same time makes a difference, and how you would set that connection type up, the only other connection that might be running on this is a wireless laptop which would be connected to my wireless.

haha, allright thank you
