Yes they are connected inside.My problem seemed to start when I connected a digital camera to one of the usb ports.After that my my modem at first gave out a brief red light then after that nothing at all,in any of the ports.I would gladly welcome any advice.

I am using the microsoft xp system.

I am using a compaq presario.My computer cannot detect my scanner, printer,modem or camera even though my usb ports are supposed to be working properly.

Icannot get any of my four usb ports to work.According to the device manager they are working fine.
