Had the same problem on my Packard Bell Easynote E2. Found a solution on the PB forum: http://forum.packardbell.com/en/viewtopic.php?t=34859 Basically you need to disconnect the power cable, take out the battery, and hold down the power button for about 30 seconds. I guess it resets the BIOS. Or something. Anyway, worked for me. Good luck.
