I did follow the steps somewhat, well heres a screenie, Its set to 5.1 config, but I only hear sound in my Front L&R Speakers, not from the rear or LFE

Hey, I've just got a 5.1 audio setup for my pc. It has two input modes, AUX and AC3. AUX Requires me to plugin only one socket to my motherboard while AC3 requires all 3 sockets. 1. Is AUX-in connected to the normal line out on the pc really 5.1 ?? I tried with many of mixing software but couldnt get sound on any one speaker independently. 2. I switched to AC3 using 3 sockets to my pc, after switching Audio Properties to 5.1. Here's my problem, I configured Line in as SUB/CENTER , Line out as Front and Mic as Rear, but was able to hear sound only with the front speakers. Please tell how i can switch audio properties successfully or if there are other software to do that. My Specs : XP MCE Intel G965RY (onboard Sigmatel sound - 6ch support) Core2Duo 2ghz NO SOUND CARD. I switched to 5.1 surround from the Sigmatel IDT Audio control panel applet. Any Solutions? Thanks,

Well, I could have reset it earlier, but I wanted to know why I couldn't get in. I have done so now, but if someone has an answer please enlighten me. Thanks,

oh. ok. I did a bit of searching and found that sometimes pirated files have the extn. .exe and we might hav to change it to .iso I tried that too to no avail. I have also read that people with 1gb and such RAM receive the same error when trying to open DOS files sized 100KB. ??!?

I have tried opening with Dosbox... but there's no effect even after an hour of executing.... I tried changing compatibility first..

http://vil.nai.com/stinger go to that address install Stinger, it should be able to remove both the trojans ... Also, check to see if you have a file called "ms.exe" in your system32 folder.

sorry, but could you clear up your first sentence a bit ? A desk which allows you to keep your pc on its side ?
-
maybe its simply that you accidentally disabled desktop icons ?? or maybe the registry might have been changed ?? GO here : HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced Check the value of the key "HideIcons". If it is 1 set it to 0.

I was organizing the files on my hard drive, when i found a file which was 670MB and looked like an MS-DOS file. Curious to see what it was, I opened it only to see the following error Quote: "Program too big to fit in Memory" SYSTEM SPECs :: Windows XP Sp1 Intel 845G board Pentium 4 2GHz 128 + 256 MB of RAM (DDR) 2 HDD's -- 40 GB + 40 GB Is there any workaround for this ? Or can nothing be done ? Thanks,

Alright, Here's my problem and how it occured: System Spec: Win XP SP1 Intel Motherboad with P4 2.00Ghz processor Intel embedded graphics USB ISDN Modem Samsung 52X Cd-R HP 24x CD-RW I had just installed the drivers and scanning software for a HP 2400 series scanner (FROM THE ORGNL CD). After a reboot, I noticed that both my CD drive werent functional, though they would still eject. Looking up the device manager, I suspected the drivers were corrupted by the previous install. 1: I could not restore back to a previous state, 2: backing up the original cdrom.sys, I tried to replace with another copy from the net, NEVER worked. 3: I booted from the XP CD and chose new install then chose repair current. It started copying the required files, and then after a reboot, Setup request for the asms file, which I know is in the I386 folder of the CD. Nothing which I do is able to make the setup program realize this. I had nothing else to do but cancel. Even after multiple reboots the same screen would appear asking for the ASMS file as before. With no other option, I installed a new copy of win xp in another partition, and am currently using the same (NOTE: My CD drives work fine in the new install.) Kindly explain to me how I will be able to revert back( SYSTEM RESTORE DOES NOT WORK! ) , Also explain how i can remove this new installation when I revert back. Loads of appreciation for your time, . ...
