  1. Hmm, I figured I would have to use the recovery disks. I did try to search for a .scr, but nothing came up for the maze.I had to burn two recovery DVDs off the D drive, but I was just avoiding using them because I'm a computer idiot and I'm afraid to screw the pc up. I was hoping there was some sort of undelete I could use instead, but I'll live. Since the computer is new I should be okay just to do a partial recovery, to reinstate whatever crap it came from the factory with, not a complete wipe of the hard drive and reinstall recovery, right?
  2. Okay: I tried system restore once before, when this first happened: it made no difference. I recently tried again with the same result. As for 1386\PLUS.CAB, I do have that cabinet file, but there is no 3Dmaze.scr or anything like that in there. There is no corresponding file in system32 either. I know the information is still on the hard drive somewhere; maybe it has been written over? I don't have a Media Center CD to try and reinstall it with, but I did try to reinstall the driver for Media Center with no success in recovering the missing screensaver. Any more suggestions?
  3. Hi all, our new pc came with windows xp media center, and there used to be this really cool screensaver called 3D maze which looked like someone running through a maze at high speed. Two days later, the screensaver was gone. I ran Disk Investigator software to scan the registry, and this came up: x+› Screen Saver.3DMaze °ÿÿÿU S R : C o n t r o l P a n e l \ S c r e e n S a v e r . 3 D M a z e Ðÿÿÿvk N but I could not figure out what to do from here...it said to save the clusters in the correct order and write it out to a disk. I tried some other software called PC Investigator file recovery, but I couldn't find the maze screensaver there either with the other recovered lost files (there were something like 25,000 on the C drive). It's probably just that I'm an idiot. I am a computer retard, so I don't know what to do here but I do want to recover this screensaver or get another one similar to it. I'm afraid that anything else I do to this pc will ruin it. Any suggestions?
