    Red Alert Screen Resolution

ok, so seeing as the previous RA thread had a lot of people asking (over and over again) how to install the game, I'm going to create this new one instead. I've installed the game, and applied the latest patch. I can run the dos version of the game, but I'd rather be running the win95 version as it's about 100% better just because the mouse works properly. The problem I'm having is that the minimum resolution that my monitor will render in is 800*600 and apparently, red alert starts up in something smaller (i'm assuming it's 640*480 but i have no way of telling) Is there any way to force red alert to run in (at least) 800*600? Is there a series of key strokes i can enter (while blind) once the game has loaded to modify the resolution? (i'd rather just change a cfg file:)) Alternatively, is there a way to force a screen resolution, some third party program? I'm on a 9800 pro with the latest catalysts, and I use PowerStrip to control my card (just much better than the ATI tools) but there seems to be no option to force resolution. Any help would be much appreciated, TIA Stubbsy

I can run the dos version anyway.. that loads fine. It's the win95 version that my monitor doesn't like... but i'll try dos box for the original C&c.. sounds like a plan dude

  4. Seeing as no one's replied to this, and I've just written a thread of my own that you (possibly) can help with... Red Alert works fine with a USB mouse. I find it interesting that you can click on certain things, but not others... very strange. Is it a particularly heavy duty mouse (millions of buttons)? Also, I presume you're running RA in win95 compatability mode? You could try getting latest drivers for your mouse, though to be honest the generic windows ones are usually pretty good (again, unless you have a lot of buttons). If it comes down to it, you can purchase a usb>ps2 converter for about £1 so it might be worth trying that and seeing if it genuinly is what's causing the issues.
