  1. Hey everyone! I'm new to this forum and joined it because I really need help. The sounds on my computer don't play. No music, nothing. When I try to play the music on my Media Player -- an error pops up saying the file won't be able to play. I think I know why -- I just had the tower cleaned out and when it came back everything was running smoothly. When I logged into my account, there'd be a pop-up saying that it's downloading an Audio Mixer or something liek that. It asked if I'd like to Stop the installing or Continue it. I chose to stop and that's when my audio device stopped working. No kind of sound would play. Then when my sister logged into her account -- the same pop-up appeared and I told her to Continue it. The sound started working again. My younger sister, not knowing any better, logged into my Moms account and stopped it and ever since then -- there were no more pop-ups and the sound isn't working again. I tried everything the Troubleshooters could give me -- nothing worked. I finally found 4 sound devices my computer uses. Out of the 4, only 3 worked. It's called the Microsoft Synthesizer, and I'm sure it's my default sound device. When I check out the DirectX Diagnostic Tool -- an error pop ups. This is what it says... `Error: Problem getting extra sound info, result code= 0x80070057 (Invalid argument(s))` I really need help. If anyone has gone through a similar problem and can help me, please reply! Thanx!
