yes, have anti-virus program, nothing found. Firefox browser and Google chrome work fine, just Explorer not working.

I have Version 7 of windows Internet Explorer on my system. Windows XP service pack 3. When I click on it , all I get is another shortcut on the desktop. If I right click on the main icon,all that comes up is....Create shortcut, Delete, Rename, and Properties. Thanks.

Whenever I try to log on another user in, the computer locks up and nothing works. Am running windows xp, service pack 2. If I restart computer, can log onto any user, but will lock up if going to another user. thanks.

Every time I open outlook express I also get the aol instant messenger to open. It is disabled as far as I can tell in the options box in express. Not sure where it is coming from. Am running windows xp on a hp computer with dsl. Thanks.

When i click on the link, when using windows explorer, then media player comes up and says it can't play file. When I try to open it using firefox, all that shows up is a large Quicktime logo with a question mark in the middle. Thanks once again.

Yes, the account has Administrator rights. This is XP Home. Not sure what version of directx is on here. When running the Directx Diagnostic Tool, is says version is "not found". Under the DirectX File tab, in the notes box it says, " the file gcdef.dll is an old version, which could cause problems. Thanks for any help I can get.

When my computer goes on standby, it will only stay asleep for a couple minutes or so, then starts back up. If I turn off the DSL it will stay asleep. It is a HP computer, running XP. Any ideas ? Thanks

when i try to do a file search, or even right click on the desktop, i get an error message and windows has to shut down. Have done many virus searches, have tried to work with the Shell-ex view. nothing seems to work for me. am running xp sp2. Also in the control panel, the networking icon doesn't have words under it anymore, just boxes and other symbols, and when the mouse goes over it that will cause the error message too. thanks.
