Command and Conquer Red Alert on Windows 2000

Hey everyone, My computer still has Windows 2000 and I would really like to get red alert to work but I cannot figure out how for the life of me. Right now i've spent a couple of hours searching for instructions online but all I can find is instructions for Windows XP! It's very frusterating, can someone please help? I would be very greatful! -
