-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256 Hi, We have passed the 5th of January, which means that no new source packages will enter stretch as announced in [1]. This also applies to packages that have been (or will be) removed from stretch. Future milestone dates in the stretch freeze ============================================ This is the third of four milestones for the stretch freeze[2]. The Release Team maintains a calendar of these at [3] along with other important dates. The next milestones are (in order): Feb 5: Full freeze - -------------------- Freeze for stretch: * All changes to stretch will require approval. * Use "reportbug release.debian.org" for requesting unblocks. Remember: * Uploaded changes must be in testing before February 5th * With the mandatory 10-day delay, the latest day for the upload is /at least/ 10 days earlier. * Delays caused by RC bugs, other packages, slow buildds, "C-x M-c M-butterfly" (etc.) are *not* an excuse to be late. You can also find the dates and their descriptions in our calendar[3]. We will keep you updated as the freeze progresses. RC bugs flooding testing ======================== We had an incident recently where Britney migrated a lot of packages with RC bugs. The underlying issue was caused by an incorrect RC bug list exported by the BTS, which was later fixed by Don Armstrong. Unfortunately, we were too late to prevent the damage. The archive had shipped a version of testing with all of these RC buggy versions and people had a chance to upgrade their systems. If you have been relying on the RC bugs to keep out a newer version of your package, you may find yourself needing to revert to the old version with a new upload. On the other hand, the vast majority seems to be previously removed packages that are now back in testing. If you had been meaning to salvage one of these but never found the time to do it, you now have another chance (until the auto-removal kicks it out again). Reminder: * You will have to support it for the life time of stretch. * Uploading a fix (or pinging the bug) will reset the auto-removal counter to at least 14 days (assuming you remember to fix/ping all bugs). * If the fix migrates on its own before 5th of February, it will *not* need an unblock hint from us. * If you keep pinging the bug without uploading a fix that can migrate to stretch in time, we might be forced to manually remove the package. * Prioritize! You cannot salvage them all. For the Release Team, Niels [1] https://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2016/07/msg00002.html [2] https://release.debian.org/#release-dates [3] https://release.debian.org/release-calendar.ics -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQIzBAEBCAAdFiEEsxMaRR2/33ygW0GXBUu7n32AZEIFAlhwvEMACgkQBUu7n32A ZEIZZg/9G4cyK2Tj2k7ClcNgNKU2zCfWj33Kvi57avvRtNEQmyji/+q+Be3ZRrMZ lc5npZjaN+bBjPtUnfzJ17orF9qVZ/MN1wePiTaKaLKhNnlQATwUOQFEKi6HWuZ4 3Qqr2HgiRvfuyLBV8ng30R/r2ckES4aOMWgqUkZL2gnCYyZcBIskVcfFQv1cCvX4 dD5Z7wbXYxTRG5sLqoaNX/m6msUmpwtr8KG8YQq+QprSGCV4KxBXMeqQLzagDo/V uZO33ksNxQn2wjYBHtlGvUHtfVD2mp8bhqrSaj0EhLurYO+I4oBf0SA96GDx8UPd 5v97R5Z7wt8XMVpH3jbCCPnG52SJBPgGncsNC/X21dhWUFP3jSqp95Sa9+HEzDNd NcBaS0bskTscwXVZx67Zjqi89I9MbfeEbY/tOmYgE/IJ0njXoK8X8F39Dj4XJBQd yXOaSB/9OZXYbcWmXTX1agxOFiinOdX71Yc4QVR7zjZyI2Doiy5t7R/zItcl2jC4 EipM4d11w9R4/paz6X4BhqoHfEX14KdeXM1uaeE073Icq7Mh/EBXNq1HVRAdonOo AktMIex74HgVU+HqrUvd+8OQ5y96Cu91HoUkJe/Cj4Eb2bNq9NY89hk67Ewwf3Pi wZ5y/Q9ooeYFsQBqa10j+zSnHi0lIDdQ/4+i68SpodZ33K22oTo= =ZBIu -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 ===================================================================== Red Hat Security Advisory Synopsis: Important: puppet-tripleo security update Advisory ID: RHSA-2017:0025-01 Product: Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform Advisory URL: https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2017-0025.html Issue date: 2017-01-05 CVE Names: CVE-2016-9599 ===================================================================== 1. Summary: An update for puppet-tripleo is now available for Red Hat OpenStack Platform 10.0 (Newton). Red Hat Product Security has rated this update as having a security impact of Important. A Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) base score, which gives a detailed severity rating, is available for each vulnerability from the CVE link(s) in the References section. 2. Relevant releases/architectures: Red Hat OpenStack Platform 10.0 - noarch 3. Description: puppet-tripleo is a key component of the Red Hat OpenStack Platform director, which is a toolset for installing and managing a complete OpenStack environment. Security Fix(es): * An access-control flaw was discovered in puppet-tripleo's IPtables rules management, which allowed the creation of TCP/UDP rules with empty port values. Some API services in Red Hat OpenStack Platform director are not exposed to public networks, which meant their $public_ssl_port value was set to empty (for example, openstack-glance, which is deployed by default on both undercloud and overcloud). If SSL was enabled, a malicious user could use these open ports to gain access to unauthorized resources. (CVE-2016-9599) This issue was discovered by Ben Nemec (Red Hat). 4. Solution: For details on how to apply this update, which includes the changes described in this advisory, refer to: https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258 5. Exclusive: Dell XPS 27 7760 All-In-One PC Review: 4K IPS Touch And Wired For Sound
news posted a topic in Upcoming News
View this email in your browser (http://us3.campaign-archive1.com/?u=efc4c507c2cf964fc2462caca&id=71bf4642bd&e=0c004f9c13) Today, Dell is taking the redesign of their XPS product line another model deeper with the unveiling of one of its first new products out of the gate for 2017, the newly redesigned Dell XPS 27 All-in-One desktop PC (http://hothardware.us3.list-manage.com/track/click?u=efc4c507c2cf964fc2462caca&id=97d2d74168&e=0c004f9c13) . The all new Dell XPS 27 7760 has a radically new look that draws at least one design cue from its XPS notebook siblings, specifically with respect to display bezel, or the lack thereof. However, its new, svelte window on the world might not be the most standout new feature of the 2017 Dell XPS 27. Under that display, Dell actually expanded things mechanically to make room for a 10 speaker sound system, designed by some rather talented audio engineers, that takes this desktop PC's audio reproduction and output capabilities to a whole new level. First, is that Vega has the most scalable GPU memory architecture built to date. It also has a new geometry pipeline, tuned for more performance and higher efficiency, a new Compute Unit design, and a revamped pixel engine.
