As I write this I have two boards in the office that I have been testing, the first being the Asus ROG Strix Z370-F that I used to test the two CPUs for the review. Asus’s boards have been solid and this one doesn’t look to be any different. As a Strix board, it has Asus’s now standard color neutral layout that uses black and gray, RGB lighting, and the angular Strix look. Today I’m going to take a look at its features, confirm that it performs well, check out the UEFI, and then talk a little about where it sits in the market and find out if it is worth picking up. *ARTICLE URL:* https://lanoc.org/review/motherboards/7657-asus-rog-strix-z370-f-gaming *LARGE IMAGE URL:* https://lanoc.org/images/reviews/2017/asus_z370-f/title.jpg *SMALL IMAGE URL:* https://lanoc.org/images/reviews/2017/asus_z370-f/email.jpg Thank you for your help Our content is syndicated by *RSS* 2.0 at: http://lanoc.org/review?fo rmat=feed&type=atom Check out our *YouTube* Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/LanocReviews Follow us on *Twitter*: http://www.twitter.com/LanOC_Reviews Join our group on *Facebook*: http://www.facebook.com/LanOCReviews Join our *Steam* Group: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/lanoc *If this message has been sent to an incorrect address, or you no longer wish to receive our news, please email us back and let us know at reviews ( -at -) lanoc.org* ---------------------------------------- Wes Compton Editor-in-Chief LanOC Reviews http://lanoc.org ( -at -) LanOC_Reviews <http://twitter.com/#!/LanOC_Reviews> Google Plus <https://plus.google.com/u/1/b/111054267662763089650/> Our Facebook Page <http://www.facebook.com/LanOCReviews>

Kaby Lake was launched at the beginning of this year and the Mainstream lineup of CPUs is getting refreshed with Coffee Lake and Z370. This is the 8th generation of Intel’s Core processors going back to the original launch back in 2006. While I’m sure Kaby Lake owners aren’t going to be all that happy about the relatively early launch, but those who waited might be excited to find out that Intel has added cores to the mainstream lineup and is bumping up the entire product stack. As someone who is still building my wife’s Kaby Lake build, I completely understand the feeling. But as long as she never finds out her new PC is already out of date I will still be alive long enough to put the i7 and i5 CPUs that Intel sent over to the test. *ARTICLE URL:* https://lanoc.org/review/cpus/7656-intel-8th-gen-core-cpus-coffee-lake *LARGE IMAGE URL:* https://lanoc.org/images/reviews/2017/intel_coffee_lake/title.jpg *SMALL IMAGE URL:* https://lanoc.org/images/reviews/2017/intel_coffee_lake/email.jpg Thank you for your help Our content is syndicated by *RSS* 2.0 at: http://lanoc.org/review?fo rmat=feed&type=atom Check out our *YouTube* Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/LanocReviews Follow us on *Twitter*: http://www.twitter.com/LanOC_Reviews Join our group on *Facebook*: http://www.facebook.com/LanOCReviews Join our *Steam* Group: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/lanoc *If this message has been sent to an incorrect address, or you no longer wish to receive our news, please email us back and let us know at reviews ( -at -) lanoc.org* ---------------------------------------- Wes Compton Editor-in-Chief LanOC Reviews http://lanoc.org ( -at -) LanOC_Reviews <http://twitter.com/#!/LanOC_Reviews> Google Plus <https://plus.google.com/u/1/b/111054267662763089650/> Our Facebook Page <http://www.facebook.com/LanOCReviews>

Intel Core i7-8700K Processor Review ( -at -) ThinkComputers.org Review Link: https://www.thinkcomputers.org/intel-core-i7-8700k-processor-review/ Image URL: https://www.thinkcomputers.org/reviews/i7_8700k/email.jpg Alt Image URL: https://www.thinkcomputers.org/reviews/i7_8700k/small.jpg Quote: "When AMD launched their Ryzen processors back in March things were a little shaky at first with stability and memory issues, which we talked about in our review of the Ryzen 7 1700X. Over time many of those problems were solved with micro-code and BIOS updates and Ryzen proved to be a real contender in the CPU market, even out-selling Intel parts at some major retailers. Needless to say AMD really shook up the Desktop CPU market with their Ryzen processor, offering an alternative to Intel’s Core i7, Core i5, and Core i3 CPUs. This is the first time in a while we’ve seen real competition in the CPU market, and we definitely like it! Today Intel is officially launching their 8th Generation Core desktop processors with the Core i7-8700K leading the pack. These processors are Intel’s first real response to Ryzen, and we finally have a core-count increase on a mainstream desktop processor! That is right, the Core i7-8700K is a 6-core, 12-thread part! It has a base-clock of 3.7 GHz, boosts up to 4.7 GHz, and being a “K†series processor it is fully unlocked. Let’s dive into the new 8th Generation Core Series and see how stacks up against AMD’s Ryzen Processors."

Title: Intel Core i7 8700K Linux Benchmarks ( -at -) Phoronix Direct Link: https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=intel-coffee-8700k&num=1 Summary: "2017 has been an interesting year for processors with AMD's long awaited introduction of the Zen-based Ryzen / Threadripper / EPYC processors, Intel's Core X-Series processors for high-end desktops, the Xeon Scalable processor family introduction, and now the launch of Coffee Lake as a "Kaby Lake Refresh" step before the Cannonlake desktop processors expected in 2018. While another 14nm CPU, Coffee Lake is interesting is that Intel has now upped their desktop core counts in response to Ryzen. With the Core i7 series is now six cores plus Hyper Threading, compared to 4 cores plus HT with previous i7 models. The Core i5 CPUs are also now six core but sans Hyper Threading and there is also the just-published Core i5 8400 Linux benchmarks. If you are looking at building an AMD TR4/SP3 platform for either a Ryzen Threadripper or Epyc processor you’ll likely find yourself looking for a CPU cooler. The AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X 16-core processor has a default TDP of 180 Watts and a maximum temperature of 68C for proper precision boost operation and 95C before thermal shutdown. One wouldn’t expect there to be many coolers that can hand that, but there are now over 20 all-in-one water cooling solutions and at least five air cooler options that are able to handle a Ryzen Threadripper processor at stock clock speeds. Read on to see how the Noctua NH-U9 TR4-SP3, Noctua NH-U12S TR4-SP3 and Noctua NH-U14S TR4-SP3 do on a Threadripper 1950X CPU as we compare them to a liquid cooler! This is likely a combination of phone manufacturers trying to keep their phones thin and the fact we are using our smartphones more and more, with many people using their smartphone as their main computing device. With that we need to constantly keep our phones charged, and if you are on the go that can be difficult. That is where mobile power banks come in. ROMOSS has sent us three of their mobile power banks to check out, all of which can be used in different situations. These include the UPower 10000mAh, ACE 10 10000mAh, and Q Series 5000mAh. Let’s take a look a see if one of these will suit your mobile charging needs."
