Today we look at the Leadtek WinFast PX9800 GTX+. SNIP: Like the older card, the newer card also supports NVIDIA’s CUDA, which allows the GPU to function as a CPU for computational purposes. The latest FAH has started to take advantage of this, and the preliminary results look promising. Although the newer GTX 200 series cards have a much more powerful CUDA, the fact that you get CUDA in the 9800 GTX/GTX+ means the card will be able to utilize such power when the application is able to use CUDA. The GeForce 9800 GTX+ also supports NVIDIA’s Hybrid Power technology. With the right chipset, the HybridPower allows the system to completely shut down the GPU and use the onboard mGPU. This will greatly save on power consumption. Unfortunately, HybridPower only works with a handful of NVIDIA based chipsets. The new GeForce 9800 GTX+ still maintains all the features and technology of the older card. It has 128 stream processors and supports DirectX 10, Shader Model 4.0, second generation PureVideo, three-way SLI, and 128-bit HDR with FSAA. In fact, you can even run both cards in SLI without any issue, and we do intend to actually put them in SLI and see the performance. Furthermore, it also supports PhysX and is HDCP capable. http://www.bjorn3d.com/read.php?cID=1323 A post on your site would rock!! Thanks Scott -----------------------------------------

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a good weekend. While I should be able to talk about how a long, hot summer increases the need for additional cooling for notebooks here, I live in the UK, and thus this particular summer has afforded me little in the way of opportunities to talk along those lines. Nevertheless, today we've taken a look at an active notebook cooler courtesy of Vizo, to see if and how it succeeds in improving temperatures for a run-of-the-mill portable system. Vizo Mini Ninja notebook cooler review "Opening up the box and taking a look at the Mini Ninja itself, we get a proper look at the cooler's main aluminium body, complete with a mesh under which sit those two 70mm fans which handle the leg work of actually cooling your notebook. Overall, the design of the cooler is very sleek and modern, although the downside to this particular solution is that you can't adjust the angle of the cooler to allow you to pick a comfortable position to seat your laptop - Indeed, the laptop doesn't 'attach' to the cooler in any way, so you need to make sure it's resting steadily on the Mini Ninja to avoid it sliding off (although to be fair we didn't have any problems with this during our testing)." http://www.elitebastards.com/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=608&Itemid=27 As always, a news post on your site would be hugely appreciated, and we guarantee to reciprocate by posting any news items received from yourselves. BFG GeForce 9600 GT OCX and 8800 GT OCX review <http://www.guru3d.com/article/bfg-geforce-9600-gt-ocx-and-8800-gt-ocx-review/>'>http://www.guru3d.com/article/bfg-geforce-9600-gt-ocx-and-8800-gt-ocx-review/>'>http://www.guru3d.com/article/bfg-geforce-9600-gt-ocx-and-8800-gt-ocx-review/> BFG is in the house with their latest weapons of mass gaming. They recently tweaked something in their product line-up and released the "OCX" series of products. Typically any manufacturer has it's normal baseline product, then an OC (overclock) products and in the case of BFG, they added an "X". Well X marks the spot, and OCX obviously is short for Overclocking eXtreme. So we picked up two of their OCX models and see what the difference is all about and have a look at their BFG 9600 GT OCX and GeForce 8800 GT OCX. Hello Webmasters and News Posters, NEW CONTENT (Motherboards) - ASUS P5Q Deluxe Intel P45 Motherboard QUOTE: "Intel has really pushed forward into the Express chipset lineup with the new 4 series being touted at what the 3 series should have been. It seems like the 3 series was just a stepping stone and the 5 series isn’t all that far away. But that’s for a totally different processor architecture. So far, we have already had the early P45-DQ6 and MSI P45 Platinum cross our paths. Today we are looking at another big wig P45 offering, namely ASUS’ P5Q Deluxe Motherboard. Featuring its EPU6 energy saver, DDR2 and a wide array of features including Express gate, ASUS hopes to topple the likes of GIGABYTE and MSI. Let’s see just how well it manages to perform." TITLE: Foxconn GeForce 9500 GT G96 Video Card ( -at -) Benchmark Reviews DESCRIPTION: Not everyone can afford the bleeding edge of graphics hardware, and not everyone needs it. NVIDIA has already made headlines with their high-end GeForce GTX 280 video card, which offers high performance at a premium price. Most enthusiasts have seen so much coverage for the high-level graphic products that it might feel like nothing exists for the lower consumer segment. Benchmark Reviews hasn't forgotten about the entry-level enthusiast, which is why we test the Foxconn GeForce 9500 GT 256MB PCI Express video card 9500GT-256FR3 against the bigger names in this review. A news post would be great. OCC has published a new review on the Gigabyte EP-45 Extreme Here is a quote from the review: Quote: "Overall, I would have to say that the limited edition Gigabyte EP-45 Extreme is the best motherboard that I've ever used for overclocking. The BIOS was simple to navigate, and Gigabyte's Dual BIOS technology really gives the user some peace of mind knowing that if they screw one BIOS up, another BIOS is right there for them to use. The LED readout is an overclocker's dream, because it allows us to see where the issues are if the system isn't booting. For me, the memory was what was holding my overclocking back. I was able to obtain an FSB speed of 500MHz, which is extremely good, considering four threads of data are being sent through the Northbridge at 500MHz x 7 (3.5GHz). I don't think I've ever hit 500 on a motherboard due to some sort of bottleneck of the CPU or memory." Hardware Canucks is pleased to present our review of the brand new BFG GTX 280 OCX 1GB video card. *Article URL:* http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/9418-bfg-gtx-280-ocx-1gb-video-card-review.html *Quote:* *Through the last few years, BFG has always been at the forefront of the pre-overclocked craze and with their OCX cards, they take things to the next level. We should mention now that in our conversations with BFG they have stated that creating a highly overclocked GTX 280 isn't as easy as it seems due to the massive amounts of heat generated by the core directly influencing the final overclock. That being said, in this review we will be looking at their GTX 280 OCX which is highest-clocked GTX 280 in their lineup that keeps the stock cooler.* *Image URL:* http://images.hardwarecanucks.com/image/skymtl/GPU/BFG-GTX280-OCX/GTX-OCX-10.jpg We would appreciate it if you would post this up in your News section Regrads, -- Hardware Canucks News Team

Even though comparisons will be made, our intention is not to directly compare ATI against Nvidia in this article, but more to see how both leading ultimate solutions will run on a system which should in theory be less CPU bound than most. To further downplay the side effects of the two Quad processors affecting the results, we have watercooled both CPU's and overclocked them to 4.4ghz (a 1.2ghz overclock ( -at -) 400x11). This will let both graphics solutions stretch their legs as much as possible at the highest resolutions. http://www.driverheaven.net/reviews.php?reviewid=609 DriverHeaven and GamingHeaven News Mailer

Malkinware introduces Reference Tracker 1.0 for Mac OS X - Published on 08/16/08 Malkinware is proud to introduce Reference Tracker 1.0, their academic reference manager and research tool for Mac OS X. Reference Tracker documents store all the citations and references in an essay, research project, or book and automatically create Harvard or APA formatted reference lists when needed. Features include lookup of book details using ISBN numbers or keywords, integration with Pages and Word, single-click extraction for references from web pages, built-in sticky notes, and more. Kilmarnock, UK - Malkinware is proud to introduce Reference Tracker 1.0, their academic reference manager and research tool for Mac OS X. Reference Tracker is an indispensable tool for writers, researchers or students. It creates documents that store all the citations and references in an essay, research project, or book and automatically creates Harvard or APA (American Psychological Association) formatted reference lists to insert when needed. Among Reference Tracker's unique features is there is no need to type out all the details of a referenced book. Just give Reference Tracker the book's ISBN and it will fetch all the details from the internet automatically. If the user doesn't have the book in hand, typing keywords into its built-in publication search will get a list of matching results. With a single click, search results will be added to their reference list. When referencing an online web resource, the application can pull all of the details from Safari or Firefox with just one click. And Reference Tracker can pull all the details from Apple's Mail as well. Reference Tracker can send a formatted reference list directly to the end of word processing documents. The dynamic 'Send To' menu will show a list of open documents in Microsoft Word and Apple Pages. Users can easily append their formatted list to the end of an open document, or create a new document with the contents of the list. Reference Tracker's intelligent formatted list importer can read Microsoft Word or RTF documents and pull all existing Harvard or APA (American Psychological Association) references into the Reference Tracker document. In addition, Reference Tracker can also import BibTex (.bib) and .ris files generated from websites or other referencing software. Reference Tracker can group references into folders, and ideal when working with large or multi-chapter documents. In addition to keeping references organized, users may generate formatted reference lists from the contents of a group, rather than all the references at one time. Reference Tracker offers built-in sticky notes too. Users may easily add as many comments or notes to as many references as they wish. Harvard or APA formatted reference lists can be edited and printed directly within Reference Tracker. Lists can also be exported to Microsoft Word (.doc), Rich Text (.rtf), plain text (.txt) documents, or web pages (.html). Reference Tracker can also export documents to BibTex (.bib) and RIS (.ris) files. Feature highlights include: * Create Full References in a single step * Reference Web Pages and Emails with a single click * Easily import existing Reference Lists * Integration with Microsoft Word and Apple's Pages * Easily Organize References * Export formatted lists to anywhere * Add Sticky Notes to References Malkinware is constantly enhancing Reference Tracker, and encourages customers to contact support if they have a reference style or word processor they would like to be included.
