News - Thecus N5200B Pro Network Attached Storage at Overclockers Online
news posted a topic in Upcoming News
Greetings! Overclockers Online has posted a new review. A news post would be greatly appreciated. Title: Thecus N5200B Pro Network Attached Storage at Overclockers Online Link: http://www.overclockersonline.net/?page=articles&num=1891 Quote: The Thecus N5200 Pro is no doubt, an awesome unit. It is flexible, fairly easy to use, and it's fast, oh let me tell you, it is fast. But, it also is not without a few kinks. When it comes to hardware, Thecus knows a thing or two and have assembled a cutting edge NAS powered by common everyday off-the-shelf hardware tied together with a custom mini-ITX motherboard, a combination resulting in unmatched performance. Thanks for the post! Best regards, Simon _______________________________________________ -
At Cebit earlier this year Cooler Master were displaying their new range of CPU coolers, however they were not quite ready for retail availability. That changed in May with the release of the Hyper Z600, a large but very stylish item which is designed to operate silently or in single and dual fan configurations. Today we will be running the Z600 through a number of tests using Intels X9770 CPU to establish just how good Cooler Masters new product is. http://www.driverheaven.net/reviews.php?reviewid=596 DriverHeaven and GamingHeaven News Mailer

Hi, XSReviews have posted a new review. Lots of planning goes into the perfect choice of hardware, and it's not uncommon for a cooler upgrade too; as faster usually means hotter. Therefore they usually go for something something much beefier than before -- not one which looks similar to the stock Intel model. It's odd saying that as today, we've got a Spire CoolFlow for review, which does, look remarkably similar to the stock Intel heat-sink and fan. Let's just hope it gives a boost in performance." *A news post on your site would be very much appreciated. Newton, Mass - Popular Mac-only game publisher, Red Marble Games, today announced the release of Positech Games' popular Democracy 2 for the Macintosh. Unique, with a deep and accurate simulation, and highly entertaining, Democracy 2 is a compelling update to the top-selling original game. In Democracy 2, players start as the elected head of a country of the player's choice. By making choices to resolve dilemmas and implementing various policies, players try to improve their countries' lot without angering enough voters to be turned out of office. The new game covers policy debates in more depth than the original Democracy game, ranging from stem cell research to school prayer to state health care. There are now far more policies to implement, a much more accurate simulation, and a selection of real-world statistics to compare to your own results. Democracy 2 also adds cabinet ministers, each responsible for a different area of your country's policy. You'll need to monitor their loyalty and effectiveness, and help them to give you the political power you need to implement changes. Pricing and Availability: Priced at only $22.95 (USD), Democracy 2 for the Mac is a Universal Mac OS X application that requires Mac OS X 10.4 or better, and is available for immediate download directly from Red Marble Games' website. EVGA UV Plus+ UV16 USB 2.0 Video Adapter In recent months EVGA introduced the EVGA UV Plus+ UV-16 USB 2.0 video adapter. This device allows you to take any available USB port on your Desktop or Notebook computer and turn it into an additional video output for use with another display. For under $75 the UV Plus+ UV-16 can handle up to 1600x1200 resolutions and doesn't need a video card to operate! Quote: "Setting up the EVGA UV Plus+ UV16 could not be easier. First you’ll want to plug your monitor into the display adapter. As the manual states, drop in the driver CD, install the driver when prompted, reboot. Once Windows comes back up you’re ready to hook up the USB cable to your laptop/desktop. After an extremely brief “found hardware” your display may flash, and then will be visible on the newly attached monitor. On the two systems that I installed this on the monitor started in clone mode. A simple click on the system tray icon brings up options to change it to extended and even lets you choose which way you want to extended it..." Hello Webmasters and News Posters, NEW CONTENT (Casing & Cooling) - APACK ZEROtherm Nirvana NV120 Premium QUOTE: "Even though ZEROtherm doesn’t have a long history of enthusiast products, their quality has impressed me thus far. The Hurricane HC92 won an award in our Mega 9-way VGA cooler roundup back in April. And their latest product, the ZEN FZ 120 proved to be a great performer with the added benefit of costing less than enthusiast CPU coolers. Today we will be looking at ZEROtherm’s flagship cooler; the Nirvana NV120 Premium. The Nirvana has a small price premium over the ZEN; around 10 Dollars here in the States. Newegg currently lists the ZEN with a 10 Dollar mail-in rebate which negates the price difference. It will be interesting to see if and how much better the Premium cooler performs compared to the newer ZEN 120 that we reviewed last month." news posted a topic in Upcoming News
Hi, It's Kristofer from DragonSteelMods, and I have a new review today that I think your readers might find interesting. Title: Super Talent Pico-C 8gb 24K Gold USB Drive Review ( -at -) DragonSteelMods Review Link: http://www.dragonsteelmods.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=8710&Itemid=1 Review Snipit: "Today for review I've got a bit of bling for you, we all like gold, no matter guy or girl, gold is something that signifies money, power and status in our society and has for many centuries, so how about a 24k gold plated USB drive? Super Talent has come out with a special version of their very popular Pico-C USB drive, this time they've gold plated it with 24 karat gold to add a bit of class and style to this already excellent and popular product. The Pico-C Gold is so small and looks so good that you could possibly wear it as a charm on a necklace or even a bracelet. Included with the Pico-C Gold is also a strong gold chain that can be used to attach the Pico-C to your keychain, phone or anywhere else you wish to. While the Pico-C does look good, looks aren't everything as we know, so I've put the Pico-C up against a few other popular USB drives on the market today from ATP, OCZ and Super Talents own as well. " Review Picture(200x150): http://www.dragonsteelmods.com/Images/reviews3/picogold/pico9.jpg Main site link: http://www.dragonsteelmods.com A post in your news would be greatly appreciated. MildMannered Industries announces Baseline 1.3 for Mac OS X - Published on 07/28/08 MildMannered Industries is proud to announce Baseline 1.3, an update to their highly rated disk usage utility for Mac OS X. Baseline is a disk sizing utility that allows users to see at-a-glance exactly how much disk space has been used. Users can view files and folders in a directory tree, browser, or graphical treemap view, as well as delete, compress or archive items directly from within Baseline. Version 1.3 adds duplicate file detection, as well as subtle interface enhancements. London, UK - MildMannered Industries is proud to announce Baseline 1.3, an update to their highly rated disk usage utility for Mac OS X. Baseline is a disk sizing utility that allows users to see at-a-glance exactly how much disk space has been used. As well as showing how much disk space each file or folder takes up, Baseline allows users to compare their hard disk against previous scans to show what has changed. With its super fast disk scanning engine, users can view files and folders in a directory tree, browser, or graphical treemap view, as well as conveniently delete, compress or archive items directly from within the application. "The TreeMap view was one of our most requested features" said Martin Redington, founder of MildMannered Industries. "Unlike other disk sizing applications, Baseline's TreeMap's are coloured according to whether files have grown bigger or smaller since the selected baseline. Together with the existing directory tree and browser views, Baseline lets you view your disk in whatever way is most comfortable for you." Version 1.3 includes duplicate file detection, allowing users to easily identify multiple copies of the same file. This is particularly useful when tracking down files with different names, but identical content. The user interface has also been enhanced with a new bottom bar and subtle Core Animation transitions between views. Feature highlights include: * Super Fast Disk Scanning * Compare Disks against saved Baselines * Directory Tree, browser, or TreeMap views * Duplicate File Detection * View only the items that have changed since a previous Baseline * Delete, Compress, or Archive items from within Baseline * Detects System and Package installed files and warns before removing them * Leopard Compatible Visit MildMannered Industries to learn more about Baseline and to try out the new version. Minimum Requirements: * Mac OS X Version 10.4 Tiger or 10.5 Leopard * Universal Binary for PowerPC and Intel * 6 MB Hard Drive space * Optional Growl Support Pricing and Availability: Baseline 1.3 can be purchased for $20.00 USD. Today we have our own Preview of the AMD HD4870X2. SNIP: When AMD launched the HD4850 and HD4870 earlier this year they continued with the strategy that they had started with the HD3000-series. Instead of trying to create a really fast, and expensive, GPU and then scale it down over the following 6-12 months for other segments, AMD decided to create the best GPU for the $200-$300 enthusiast segment and then either scale it down for the entry level segment or combine more than one GPU for the hard core gamers. The reception of the HD4850 and the HD4870 has been very good and these GPU's even got NVIDIA to lower their prices quite a lot just to be able to compete. All that really has been missing is a card that could go up directly against the GTX280 and today we are previewing the card that wants to do exactly that; the HD4870X2, codenamed R700. http://www.bjorn3d.com/read.php?cID=1317 A post on your site would be great if you can. Title: ASUS P5Q-E Motherboard Review ( -at -) HardwareLogic Quote: "The ASUS P5Q-E motherboard aims to do just that by featuring Intel's new hotness, the P45 Express chipset that has everyone buzzing. Among its many highlights, the P5Q-E delivers native 1600 FSB CPU support, CrossFireX capable, eSATA, RoHS certified and recognizes up to 16GB of DDR2-1200 memory. Wow. Considering this all comes at an affordable price point, I couldn't wait to get it in the lab and on the test bench. If you're in the market for a new motherboard, you'll definitely want to check this review out. Read on as HardwareLogic unleashes its entire benchmarking suite on this board to find out if its worthy of being the foundation of your next build." What, you might wonder, does a "bar" of signal mean on a mobile phone? And while we're at it, five bars out of five on the "battery" display must mean there's still at least 80% of the charge left, right? Wrong. I explain this little bit of everyday electronic deviousness here: http://www.dansdata.com/gz084.htm A news post would be appreciated. -- Daniel Rutter http://www.dansdata.com/ - hardware reviews and more!

Can this latest instalment in the /Red Alert/ franchise restore the series to glory even in the eyes of the elitist hardcore? * *Cheers guys! Tim Smalley www.bit-tech.net

Hi all, We have just published a review of the Asus Triton 85. If you could post a link on your site that would be very much appreciated. *Link: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2008/07/26/asus-triton-85/1* *Picture: http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2008/07/asus-triton-85/fp_img.jpg* *Quote: *There's no sugar coating the fact that the Triton 85 is a turkey. With very poor thermal performance, a tricky (and easy to break) mounting system and a high price, the advantage of silent cooling is completely lost in the swamp of negativity surrounding it's other flaws. We feel a lot of the blame can be laid at the top down design of the heatsink, which interrupts the airflow through the case and blows hot air straight down onto the motherboard and surrounding components rather than towards the case exhaust where it needs to go. * *Cheers guys! Hi all, We have just published a review of WALL-E (PS3). If you could post a link on your site that would be very much appreciated. *Link: http://www.bit-tech.net/gaming/2008/07/27/wall-e/1* *Picture: http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2008/07/wall-e/fp_img.jpg* *Quote:* The reason that Pixar films are so successful is that operate on two levels: there's the twee story and characters that appeal to children, and then there's the clever dialogue and dirty in-jokes for the adults. Pixar have a virtually unmatched talent to weave both these aspects together in a film in such a way that both children and adults alike can rave about it. Sadly, this is not the case for the game version of WALL-E. This is firmly targeted at children, and there's very little here that will keep an adult amused for the full /seven or eight hours/ of trash-compacting gameplay. * *Cheers guys! OCZ Core SATA-II 64GB Solid State Drive review <http://www.guru3d.com/article/ocz-core-sata-64gb-solid-state-drive-review/>'>http://www.guru3d.com/article/ocz-core-sata-64gb-solid-state-drive-review/> OCZ Technology has the honor to be the first ever manufacturer to have one of their SSD drives tested here at Guru3D.com, and we have others in queue as well. Despite the negative spins from traditional HDD manufacturers and a couple of sour SSD manufacturers who do not have their technology right, let me state .. Solid State Drives are here to stay, and inevitably they will replace HDDs. And by saying that I do not mean in the next 3 years or so. But think of long term usage, this will be the faster technology, this will be a high-volume technology and it will be a reliable technology as there are no more moving parts inside that storage unit. The SSD technology has advanced to a level where it can compete with even the fastest WS Velociraptor HD, and let us show you exactly that. You can find the review here: http://www.guru3d.com/article/ocz-core-sata-64gb-solid-state-drive-review/ <http://www.guru3d.com/article/ocz-core-sata-64gb-solid-state-drive-review/> --

Title: Zaward Gyre (ZJ010) CPU heatpipe cooler Review ( -at -) XtremeComputing Quote: "Today I am going to be looking at a product from a company that, until fairly recently, I knew very little about. That company is Zaward and they are best know for their cooling products so it may come of no surprise that the product in question is the Zaward Gyre ZCJ010 cpu cooler. A “gyre” is a vortex so I am hoping for some decent results."
