TechwareLabs has published a review of the Sans Digital MobileSTOR RAID Enclosure (MS2UTN+). Here's a clip from the review: Quote: Once again TWL embarks upon our quest for storage and speed only to come across the MobileSTOR RAID enclosure which promises both. The MobileSTOR RAID is the cheapest raid capable enclosure on the market with a slick design and good features. But all that glitters is not necessarily gold as Justin discovers in his tests. Read about what Justin liked and about the hidden dark side. Hello Webmasters and News Posters, NEW CONTENT (Memory) - Corsair XMS3 DHX 1600MHz 4GB Memory Kit QUOTE: "Well before NVIDIA had any plans for DDR3, EPP or Extreme Performance Profile DDR2 memory was making its way into the mainstream. These modules were really designed to work with 680i chipsets, since any AMD solutions have the memory controller moved to the CPU, this eliminated any offerings NVIDIA can give. EPP has made its way into DDR3 with EPP 2.0; this being the DDR3 variation. Today we have Corsair’s monster 4GB DDR3 kit (2x2GB) supporting EPP 2.0. Let’s see how it copes." Hi everyone, The "2GB versus 4GB of system memory" argument may be quite an old one now, but it's still no less relevant, particularly when confronted with the choice of 2GB of ultra-fast and overclockable RAM for around the same price as 4GB of slower memory with more lax timings. So, which is the better choice? Today, we examine exactly this question, as we take a look at Patriot's PC2-9200 rated 2GB memory kit, with the catchy product name of PVS22G9200ELK. Patriot PVS22G9200ELK 2GB DDR2 PC2-9200 memory kit review "While most standard DDR2 memory modules are rated at standard modern FSB speeds such at 800MHz, up to 1066MHz, Patriot's offering here is a cut above this, rated at speeds of up to 1150MHz (aka PC-9200) coupled with some pretty tight timings of 5-5-5-12. NVIDIA's EPP (Extended Performance Profile) functionality to easily utilise the best possible settings for your memory on supported motherboards is also available here, with an EPP profile offering a 571MHz (1142MHz effective) clock speed." http://www.elitebastards.com/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=591&Itemid=27 As always, a news post on your site would be hugely appreciated, and we guarantee to reciprocate by posting any news items received from yourselves. A news post would be great. OCC has published a new review on the CSX Diablo PC3 16000 DDR3 2x1GB Here is a quote from the review: Quote: "Try as I might, I could not push the Diablo modules any further than the 2000MHz they are rated for. They ran the same 2000MHz whether the timings were tightened up or loosened up even further than the 9-9-9-28 stock latencies. Increasing the voltage was not the solution this time it seems. 2.2 volts did not bring any gains to the maximum clock speed or to the timings. At the 1333MHz mark the modules easily ran 6-5-5-15 all day long with 1.75 volts to the modules. Since I could not break through the 2000MHz mark, I started tightening up the sub-timings and was able to drop them to 8-7-6-20 at the same 2.04 volts that the modules ran the looser timings. Without a processor to push a higher FSB speed on this platform, I had to settle for the reduction in memory sub timings. This tightening of the timings offers up an increase in performance that you can't pass up." Hello Again, Futurelooks eliminates negativity with the review of this 35mm film scanner... Plustek OpticFilm 7500i AI 35mm Film Scanner Review Photography is one of those hobbies and industries that have dramatically changed in the last 5 years. Most avid amateur photographers, including myself, used to shoot 35mm film. Now many of us only shoot digital. The days of 35mm gave me a stack of negatives, but I knew one day, there would be something to help me archive them into the digital age. plustek, a world leader and provider of imaging solution products, sent us the OpticFilm 7500 AI Slide and Negative scanner. The OpticFilm 7500 AI Slide and Negative scanner is deemed as one of their professional series negative scanners. It might be a bit overkill and over the top for the average consumer, but lets check it out and see what happens. Hello, OCIA.net has posted their review of the Moneual Labs MonCaso 972 HTPC Chassis. Below is a direct quote from the review: "We received the silver model but a black version is also available, if that would better fit your home theater system color scheme. The 7" touchscreen immediately makes its presence known, taking up the entire center area of the front bezel. Just below the LCD screen is a spot for your optical drive. To the right, we have a bank of control buttons and a volume knob. On the left, we find a power button, HDD LED and IR sensor (more on all of these in a bit)." Title: Zotac GTX 280 1GB AMP! Edition Video Card ( -at -) TheTechLounge Quote: It's a tough place to be, having six hundred dollars to spend on a single video card. It's rough, and if you're there, may God have pity on your soul. You're about to buy a GTX 280. Some of the glimmer has blown away; this is the fastest single-GPU card of all time, but HD 4000 is a whirlwind. It's all value, though, and the best has and will always require a price premium. NVIDIA people won't be dissuaded, and the GTX 280, despite competitive pressure, is selling well. A lot of work went into making this a new card, not a streamlined or overclocked G80 part. It's beastly, costly, and if you've any doubts about buying this card, they're warranted. Fortunately, you can know this: it's powerful, and there probably won't be anything like it for some time to come.
