  7. Asus EN9600GT Top/HTDI/512M Geforce 9600GT Videocard Review "The Asus EN9600GT Top/HTDI/512M is a Geforce 9600GT based PCI Express graphics card. It ships pre-overclocked from the factory for roughly a 10% gaming edge, and packs in a typical 512MB of GDDR3 memory. It's nVidia Geforce 9600GT GPU runs at 720MHz (up from the stock of 700MHz), while memory and shader clock speeds sit at 2000MHz and 1800MHz respectively. Like many other small and creative development companies, LateNiteSoft founders started out writing Xslimmer after their day jobs and family commitments were over each day. Months of hard work later, they have recently decided to go all the way and establish themselves as full-time Indie developers, working on Mac and iPhone apps. "Incorporating Snapshot just after we've gone indie is like a Christmas present for us - we suddenly have a third product and feel the thrill to be able to work on new features, instead of having to spend many weeks in all the technical foundations", says Pedro Cuenca, co-founder and CTO. "What's more important, we are incorporating an existing and faithful customer base, plus a solid technology framework that already complements our own work on Sketches and other products yet to be announced", confirms Jorge. Pricing and Availability: Snapshot is available for $29.95 USD from Snapshot's web site. A license includes free upgrades until the next major revision. 18. Dear Media friends, APH Networks has published a new review that your readers might enjoy. A post in your site's news section would be greatly appreciated! * Title: SilverStone Kublai KL-02 Computer Case ( -at -) APH Networks * Description: I am not going to lie to you, but I am not the first one to say it -- time sure flies by at an alarming rate. The last time we reviewed a case was back in September 2007 of the popular Antec P182 -- and that's nearly ten months ago already. Prior to that, it was the NZXT Duet in May 2007, and Thermaltake's Aguila in December 2006. Oh boy, it's the second half of 2008 already, and it seems like I haven't really done much this year! Speaking of the Thermaltake Aguila, I've been using it with my ever-changing main computer that's gone though dozens upon dozens of upgrades and revisions since it was first built in November 2006 -- with pretty much no components resembling of the original build. That said, the case was still the same, and I felt that it was time for a change. I wanted something that was a midtower that can fit neatly on my desk, but spacious inside. I wanted a clean, sleek case that suited my tastes with a large window on the side so I can show off my components and well practiced cabling skills. I wanted a high quality case with excellent build quality from a reputable manufacturer. Well, long story short, either I was not looking hard enough, or that it was simply hard to find. Right off the top of my head, there are not many brands that has cases that fit within this category; of which SilverStone and Lian-Li are amongst the few. But it was not until SilverStone themselves brought my attention to their KL-02 case -- and at first glance, it seems that it's the case that fulfills all my requirements. Let's do a closer examination to see how it goes in real life. * Link: http://aphnetworks.com/reviews/silverstone_kl_02 * Image: http://aphnetworks.com/review/silverstone_kl_02/017.JPG
  19. Hello, We've just posted our latest review and would love it if you linked it. TIA! "The PCTV nanoStick is great value for money if you're looking for the smallest USB digital TV tuner on the market. But similar to other Pinnacle TV tuners we had a nightmare scanning for TV channels using the supplied antenna. Internet radio quality was quick and easy. After quickly glancing through Pinnacle's forums, it seems a lot of other users have problems scanning for channels - regardless of reception area. When we gave up and connected a rooftop aerial, video quality was good - even at full screen - and the added benefit of being able to trim videos and burn them onto DVD means you can watch recorded programs on the big screen once you get back to the comfort of your living room. Advanced users not needing to compromise on size should look at Pinnacle's PCTV Dual DVB-T Diversity Stick, which sports twin digital TV tuners so you can watch one channel while recording another or record two different channels at once. Overall, the PCTV nanoStick is an attractive package considering its size and price, but it comes with a serious caveat: you need to get the aerial in just the right position to work perfectly on all channels - or just ditch it and use a proper indoor aerial to get the best signal every time. But that's defeating the object, of course." http://www.biosmagazine.co.uk/rev.php?id=771 _____ Christian Harris Editor/Publisher BIOS (http://www.biosmagazine.co.uk) _____

  21. Today we look at the XFX GeForce 8800 GS & 8800 GS XXX. SNIP: At times it feels like you just can't keep up with the rest of the world. There is always something that creeps up on you when you least expect it, and many times you are not ready for the changes that come along with it. Videocards are no exception to this. I am the type of person that would love to be on the bleeding edge of technology at all times, but my wallet just can't always keep up, so sacrifices are made. I recently got the chance to take a look at the NVIDIA 8800 GS and 8800 GS XXX from XFX. You may be thinking that these cards are old, as we are now in the 9000 and 200 series from NVIDIA, but for those of us who have to take a slower approach to upgrading our PCs, these cards are a great value. http://www.bjorn3d.com/read.php?cID=1295 A post on your site would be great if you can. Thank you, Scott -----------------------------------------
