  2. Hello, We’ve just posted our latest review and would love it if you linked it. TIA! “MSI’s P45 Neo3 is a good value motherboard if you’re looking to go green. It’s not suited to high-end gamers though, due to its lack of nVidia SLI support, and there’s no WLAN or Bluetooth chipsets. Some may also need a Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) controller. There isn’t an onboard speaker for diagnostics, either. But MSI put many new technologies into its P45 series to improve the working of GreenPower, which improve temperatures, overclocking and stability. And with features such as active phase switching, enabling phase switching for the memory and chipset, as well as the PWM, the P45 Neo3 should cater for demanding users. Nvidia’s über-high-end nForce 790i Ultra SLI still rules the roost for ultimate performance, but the P45 Neo3 is a reasonable choice if you’re building a solid all-rounder on a budget. While the motherboard is catered to the budget user, its two-phase power supply for the chipset gives it better overclockability compared to the P45 Neo and there are still plenty of storage ports to cater to the enthusiast.” http://www.biosmagazine.co.uk/rev.php?id=770 _____ Christian Harris Editor/Publisher BIOS (http://www.biosmagazine.co.uk) _____

    ECS Factory Tour @ OCC

A news post would be great. OCC has published a new article of our ECS Factory Tour Here is a quote from the article: Quote: "That was quite a tour! I saw firsthand how a motherboard goes from raw material to a packaged product, with several eye opening steps in between. I never knew how many steps were involved in producing the actual PCB itself, and it was quite evident in the length of that part of the tour. The assembly part was also quite intriguing, with a single motherboard going from start to finish in a matter of minutes. I can see how ECS makes a claim of producing around 2 million boards a month with the number of assembly lines and people working each of them. The testing of each and every was what really impressed me. I was under the impression that only some of the boards would be randomly tested with the vast majority of them going straight into boxes. With ECS, not only is every board tested to ensure it works, but the company also goes ahead and stress tests random boards to verify strict quality control methods are being followed." NV PhysX Tweaker 1.0

Hello Editor, For you as an editor this little application might come in very handy, as it will allow you to simply force NVIDIA's PhysX driver over your rpeference, the CPU or GPU (a choce that you do not have right now). Hopefully this eases up your benchmarking process a little without the need to install/reinstall PhysX drivers constantly. NV PhysX Tweaker 1.0 Our in-house Guru3D NVHardpage programmer stumbled into the same issue I had as well. The NVIDIA PhysX driver once install will activate itself on the GPU, and can not be disabled. This little NV PhysX Tweaker tool will allow you to actually choose to enable or disable the PhysX driver over the GPU and if preferred, the CPU. Nothing fancy, very simple yet very handy. Title: ATI Radeon HD 4870 On Linux ( -at -) Phoronix Direct Link: http://www.phoronix.com/vr.php?view=12558 Summary: "A week ago we looked at the brand-new ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics card under Linux. This graphics card launch was unlike any in ATI's history where with the introduction of a brand new product generation, Linux users were greeted by same-day Linux support -- both through their proprietary fglrx driver and with the open-source xf86-video-ati driver. In addition, some of the board partners are opting to put Tux on their product packaging and shipping the Linux drivers on their product CDs. As we had also exclusively shared, AMD will soon be approaching a feature parity between the Windows and Linux drivers. Today we're publishing our complete review of the new ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB as well as delivering additional benchmarks from the Radeon HD 4850 under Linux, of course." 14. Hello, We’ve just posted our latest review and would love it if you linked it. TIA! “Let’s cut to the chase. BenQ’s G2400W is a no-frills 24-incher that can hardly be called attractive. But it covers most bases in terms of features and costs less than £250. It delivers good image quality thanks to impressive colour separation and greyscale reproduction. Text is clear too, and games perform effortlessly - only the more discerning will notice and be bothered by its deficiencies, If you’re looking for a good all-rounder and your pockets aren’t deep enough for Dell’s UltraSharp 2408WFP, the G2400W will more than satisfy. Just bear in mind that it doesn’t swivel, nor can you adjust the monitor’s height, so you’ll need to improvise to get it sitting at the right height on your desk. It’s also not possible to pivot it into a portrait orientation, either, but it can be tilted backwards and forwards.” http://www.biosmagazine.co.uk/rev.php?id=769 _____ Christian Harris Editor/Publisher BIOS (http://www.biosmagazine.co.uk) _____

  16. Radeon HD 4850 and 4870 CrossfireX performance test <http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-4850-and--4870-crossfirex-performance/>'>http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-4850-and--4870-crossfirex-performance/> Guru3D posted a Radeon 4850 and 4870 Crossfire review. Since Radeon series 4800 cards offer so much value, it might even be interesting to pair them in CrossfireX mode. Much like NVIDIA's SLI offerings, AMD's ATI solution can be paired and matched as well. So pretty much today we'll place several cards together in CrossfireX mode, first the cards paired (two) and then we'll for the sake of it see if we can pair three cards CrossfireX mixed, meaning 2x 4870 and one 4850. When you compare the results to NVIDIA's latest high-end single card offerings, the results are a little shocking. You can read the article at this URL: http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-4850-and--4870-crossfirex-performance/ <http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-4850-and--4870-crossfirex-performance/> --

  18. Hello News Partner: Benchmark Reviews has released a new article which your readers might enjoy. We would be grateful if you would please share it with them. TITLE: ZOTAC GeForce GTX 280 AMP! Edition Video Card ( -at -) Benchmark Reviews DESCRIPTION: NVIDIA has recently launched the GeForce GTX 280 and GTX 260 video cards. Both the GTX 280 and GTX 260 products position themselves at the most elite segment of the GeForce product line, so just imagine how much more powerful the GeForce GTX 280 could become after ZOTAC give it their special AMP! Edition treatment. The recent Radeon HD 4870 launch may have shown how close ATI/AMD can get to NVIDIA's bar of performance, but the ZOTAC GeForce GTX 280 AMP! Edition graphics card has just raised that bar much higher. Benchmark Reviews tests the ZOTAC ZT-X28E3LA-FCP against the GeForce 9800 GX2 and 9800 GTX, as well as the new Radeon HD 4850 in CrossFireX configuration. 19. *Title: * Scythe Orochi CPU Cooler Review ( -at -) HardwareLogic *Quote:* "Is bigger better? Well that probably depends on what we are talking about. Right? Get your mind out of the gutter. Scythe sent us their new Orochi CPU cooler and they made no bones about hiding the bulge. This thing is huge, plain and simple. Scythe has manufactured some fantastic high performance coolers, as well as some respectable bang-for-buck quiet mid-range coolers. This time they set their sights on more size and less noise to try to get respectable performance out of the Orochi. They expect this cooler to be used as a passive cooler (fanless) or with a large nearly silent fan. So back to our original question: Is bigger better? Let's check out this monster and find out." 20. A news post would be great. OCC has published a new review on the Aten CS1782 DVI KVMP Switch Review Here is a quote from the review: Quote: "Overall, I'm extremely impressed with this Aten CS1782 KVM switch. The Wife was very annoyed by the WoW keyboard problem, but as mentioned, it went away the instant I plugged in a USB keyboard, which made her happy and negated that annoyance. I would figure most gamers that are willing to drop the cash for something like this, would already be beyond the older PS/2 keyboards and into something like the Logitech G15. Speaking of price, Aten's MSRP is $279.95, but I've used my Google and shopping skills and have found it around the net from $172.87 to $237.83. This is definitely a bit pricey for a KVM, especially considering most KVM's that users would buy (other than enterprise/corporate clients) cost around $50.00 to $100.00. My own KVM's have never nailed me for more than $55, but then again, my KVM's won't do DVI natively (and LCD's look ghosted or strange through a KVM with a DVI adapter), most don't have USB functions, and not a single KVM I've ever seen before has had the ability to 7.1 audio." Hardware Canucks is pleased to present our review of the G.Skill PI 2x2GB PC3-12800 DDR3 Kit. *Article URL:* http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/8213-g-skill-pi-2x2gb-ddr3-pc3-12800-review.html *Quote:* *G.Skill has recognized this need for high performance 2x2GB kits of DDR3 memory and has sprinkled the pot with a PC3-12800 4GB kit with tight timings of 7-7-7. DDR3 memory frequencies have really started taking off but at much looser timings. The DDR3-1600 and 7-7-7 timing combination really is a steadfast combo that has been common for 2x1GB kits but is a little harder to find in 2GB density sticks.
