Title: Gigabyte Overclocking Tournament Coverage ( -at -) HardwareLogic Quote: "Gigabyte held its first ever overclocking tournament in the City of Industry, California which is located next to Los Angeles. The contest was held at the plush Pacific Palm Resort, down the road from Gigabyte's USA headquarters. Its always exciting when an industry giant sponsors an event of this nature which gives enthusiasts even more reason to consider its products and a chance to see what professional overclockers can achieve with them." 6. Hi Editors, Tech-Reviews.co.uk has just posted a news review online. A link or inclusion of the review in a news post would be much appreciated. Title: AcoustiPack Ultimate Sound Dampening ( -at -) Tech-Reviews.co.uk Briefing: We've rambled on about silent products a lot lately at Tech-Reviews. One product we've tried to avoid is sound dampening - due to rumours of the rather time consuming installation this product entails. However, without using sound dampening, we've found it nearly impossible to silence our rig completely. Given the chance to review some of Acousti Products' latest acoustic material kits, the AcoustiPack Ultimate, we simply couldn't turn the offer down. Super Micro C2SBX+

At Phoronix we have posted a new article. A link to this from your site's news section would be greatly appreciated. Title: Super Micro C2SBX+ ( -at -) Phoronix Direct Link: http://www.phoronix.com/vr.php?view=12545 Summary: "Super Micro, are you familiar with them? Chances are that unless your focus is on the workstation and server markets, you probably haven't heard of them. However, this company has been around since 1993 and they have been producing a variety of different motherboards, servers, computer enclosures, and other products to fit the needs of their customers. Super Micro manufacturers a variety of different Intel server motherboards -- and they are one of the few that offers quad-socket Xeon motherboards -- but they also have a growing selection of Core 2 desktop motherboards. The C2SBX+ is one of their newest motherboards and with our first Super Micro review at Phoronix we are looking at this product. This Intel X48 motherboard is designed for digital entertainment, gaming enthusiasts, and other high-end applications." Please feel free to contact us with any questions or comments you may
  8. Hi all, We have just published a review of *Civilization Revolution* for the Xbox 360. If you could post a link on your site that would be very much appreciated. *Link:* http://www.bit-tech.net/gaming/2008/06/28/civiliszation-revolution/1 *Picture:* http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2008/06/civiliszation-revolution/fp_img.jpg *Quote: */"Still, despite all these minor flaws and control issues, Civilization Revolution is still pretty good and Firaxis has done well to carry over the same addictiveness and educating mechanics as the previous games. There are issues, but there's also a lot to like in //Civilization Revolution and even though a lot of the depth has been trimmed out, there's still a lot left in in terms of negotiations and deciding what to build next. There's also a lot to like in terms of the different scenarios and modes -- though there's only support for up to four players, which is limiting. The game is boiled down, streamlined and basic -- but that isn't all bad and one could easily level accusations of needless depth and bloatiness at the original games. To have a lighter option is no bad thing and the developers have done well to adapt the game to a console audience, though there are some obvious failings and concessions that have been made. The game could have been made better in some fairly fundamental ways - we'd have loved to see some of the more varied campaign scenarios and the like from //Beyond The Sword, the add-on for the last proper //Civilization game. Some expanded multiplayer support and better controls would go down a treat as well. Still, //Civilization is a strong brand and an awesome series of games, so these failures don't really have that big an effect on the overall outcome. As good as the PC forefathers? Definitely not, but still better than the nearest competitor on a console."/ * *Cheers guys! Tim Smalley www.bit-tech.net
  9. Hi all, We have just published June's *Mod of the Month* competition. If you could post a link on your site that would be very much appreciated. *Link:* http://www.bit-tech.net/modding/2008/06/30/motm-jun-08/1 *Picture:* http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2008/06/motm-jun-08/fp_img.jpg *Quote: */"Well, here we are at the end of June! We're half-way through the year, in the start of a gorgeous summer (or maybe winter for those of you south of the equator), and we're celebrating the first birthday of our Mod of the Month competition! One year ago, we rolled out the first of our monthly awards, won by none other than a fishtank with a computer. Since that point in time, we've seen all manner of beasts and builds, from top-spec watercooled SLI rigs to slim and trim HTPCs. Scratch case builds, full-on mods and everything in between have graced these pages as 55 of the best from our forums vied for prizes and recognition. This month, we're celebrating the anniversary by going back to the old school - June's Mod of the Month contains absolutely no scratch builds. Don't worry, all you talented creators - we'll go back to pick up a couple of you for July. But this one is all about the art of the old-fashioned //mod."/ * *Cheers guys! 11. Today we look at the SilenX IXTREMA Pro IXC-120HA2. SNIP: We have seen many newcomers to the computer cooling industry; and lately, many of these newcomers have been making a name for themselves, like Noctua and Zerotherm. These companies are now competing against well-established manufacturers like ThermalRight and Zalman, and today, we will be reviewing another heatsink and fan from SilenX - even another manufacturer that is quickly becoming a big player in the PC cooling industry. http://www.bjorn3d.com/read.php?cID=1290 A post on your site would be great if you can. 12. Hi everyone! I hope you all had a good weekend. Following on from the launch of Intel's P45 chipset and relevant parts earlier this month, ASUS have now launched the latest in their Republic of Gamers series of motherboards, leveraging this mid-range chipset via their Maximus II Formula. As usual, overclocking is a big focus of the board, with gamers also being offered some other interesting additions via the SupremeFX X-Fi audio solution. What's it all about, and how does this motherboard perform? We take a look in today's review. ASUS Maximus II Formula motherboard review "ASUS' Republic of Gamers motherboards have sported a PCI Express 1x 'SupremeFX' card for some time now, but the Maximus II Formula sees something of an overhaul in this department, being as it is the first to feature SupremeFX X-Fi functionality. Now, this particular branding might lead you to believe that this offering sports Creative's X-Fi processor... But you'd be wrong. What we actually have here is, in fact, an early supporter of Creative's new SoundBlaster X-Fi MB technology, which in essence uses the hardware codec of another audio processor (in this case Analog Devices' AD1988B chip) coupled with software CPU utilisation to offer up much of the functionality of Creative's current X-Fi sound cards. This means that you get access to EAX functionality up to EAX 4.0 (meaning no EAX 5.0 support), as well as other features such as 3D CMSS and Crystalizer for improving sound quality." http://www.elitebastards.com/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=585&Itemid=27 As always, a news post on your site would be hugely appreciated, and we guarantee to reciprocate by posting any news items received from yourselves. 17. Fellow Webmasters, Site Owners and Newsposters, Tweaknews.net has released yet another review onto the internet. I was wondering if you could please post it in today's news for me. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Article Name: Thermaltake Xaser VI VG4000SNA Computer Case Review ( -at -) Tweaknews.net Article Url: http://www.tweaknews.net/reviews/thermaltake_xaser_vi_vg40000sna_computer_case/ Article PIC: http://www.tweaknews.net/reviews/thermaltake_xaser_vi_vg40000sna_computer_case/img/email.jpg Article Snippet: "With the Xaser VI, Thermaltake has an aluminum full-tower chassis that will rival the best in it's class. The innovative tool-free features are well executed and make working in this Xaser a real pleasure. Arguably the best feature is the sliding motherboard tray. Or maybe the hard drive mounting solution. What about the densely populated front panel I/O plate? Or the outstanding cooling design? There's a lot of stuff here to like, and I like the vast majority of it." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Could you email back saying you posted it, TWEAK IT LIKE YOU MEAN IT!!!! That’s what most people say when I tell them what this little device is actually called. But for me “The Munki” is far easier to say. Created by the minds at X-Rite, the ColorMunki Photo is the answer for people who take lots of pictures, but always wonder why what they see on the monitor isn’t what they remember shooting. This little gizmo profiles your monitors, even your printers and projectors, to allow you to display your shots exactly the way that you remember taking them on all your displays. 22. A news post would be great. OCC has published a new review on the MSI P45 Platinum Here is a quote from the review: Quote: "A song from the group Disturbed comes to mind here, "Down with the Sickness." The P45 Platinum is the first and only motherboard I have been able to get a Quad core processor over 500MHz. In fact, 515MHz was achieved and was stable enough to run some of our benchmark suite. 515MHz is a great validation screen shot but I wanted to find out where I could gain a measure of stability without having to cook my little piece of silicon. This I found at 491MHz with 1.424 volts and running the memory at a 1:1 ratio. Auto settings were good for the voltages up until 470MHz. The exception being the Vcore and Vdimm voltages. These were manually set from the start of the testing. After this point the GTL reference voltages played a large role in increasing the stability of the overclock. The GTL reference voltage settings needed for stability will vary from CPU to CPU. Much the same way no two CPUs will be identical in the voltages needed to reach a set clock speed. The MSI P45 has got some serious overclocking cajones! Just keep in mind this is air cooled through and through!" 23. Hello News Partner: Benchmark Reviews has released a new article which your readers might enjoy. We would be grateful if you would please share it with them. TITLE: SOYO 26-Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor DYLM26E6 ( -at -) Benchmark Reviews DESCRIPTION: Benchmark Reviews has tested several different monitors over the past year, and even though they all offer nearly the same features there still seems to be a high premium paid for some names. Not SOYO. Last year we reviewed the 24-Inch DYLM24D6, which was an extremely popular widescreen monitor that could be purchased for less than $300. That was over a year ago, and so as you can imagine prices have come down a but since then. Today we get to offer another excellent value: SOYO 26-Inch Widescreen LCD Monitor MT-NI-DYLM26E6. Presently this monitor is available for only $379.99, which is an unbelievable price for any 26" widescreen LCD that can produce 1920x1200 WUXGA resolution. 25. Hello, OCIA.net has posted their latest Crossfire article entitled: A Refreshed Look at 3 Series Crossfire. Below is a direct quote from the review: "With the 3870s and the 4850s so closely matching in price, suddenly buying a second 3870 doesn't seem like such a good idea. You can buy a 3870 for under $140.00 and have two 3870s in Crossfire (or a 3870 and a 3850 in CrossfireX depending on what you did back in the day). Alternatively, you can sell your 3870 and probably pull in a solid $90, and then buy a 4850, netting $100 and saving yourself the electricity bill of having two cards at the same time. Naturally, we have a problem with using just one card when we could so easily have two, but it really is the performance that counts."
