  1. Hello fellow editors! Tech ARP ( http://www.techarp.com/ <http://www.techarp.com/>'>http://www.techarp.com/> ) has just posted the ED#96 : High Definition Audio Support In Windows XP SP3. Quote - After years of development, Microsoft finally released Windows XP Service Pack 3 for downloading early last month. Earlier, we covered how the Windows XP SP3 RC didn't support high definition audio because Microsoft apparently "forgot" to add the Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) driver for High Definition Audio devices in the latest release candidate of the Windows XP Service Pack 3. Now that the final Windows XP Service Pack 3 has been released, one, especially yours truly, wonders if it now supports high definition audio, or if Microsoft forgot to add the driver once again? Direct URL - http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=561 Logo URL - http://www.techarp.com/editorials/img/0824_HDA_Support_WXP_SP3_big.png We would appreciate your help in getting the word out. Rest assured that we will reciprocate and post your news with all due haste. If you have any news, please feel free to send it to our news mailbox at news ( -at -) techarp.com. Thanks! 2. Hello, MSI P7N SLI Platinum (750i) Motherboard Review "In this review we take a look at an affordable NVIDIA 750i based motherboard from MSI. It allows you to build an SLI gaming system powered by an Intel S775 CPU. Is this product good enough for the enthusiast? We compare its performance to an X38 based S775 board and also let you explore the BIOS of the MSI with our virtual tour." http://www.madshrimps.be/gotoartik.php?articID=823 ____________________________________ Thank you in advance for posting,

  4. Hello Webmasters and News Posters, NEW CONTENT (Visual) - Four Radeon HD 4850s In CrossfireX QUOTE: "The guys down at IBuyPower Australia can’t get rid of me these days. I’m surprised they haven’t started asking me to pay rent. The other day the ASUS P5E64 WS Evolution board arrived, and this thing just absolutely won me over as far as looks and features went. However, the feature that we really care about today is the fact it has four PCI Express x16 slots. While ASUS use a x16/x16/x4/x4 configuration, it’s really one of the best on the market. So, with four HD 4850s in hand and hopefully a driver that was going to work, it was time to take four of these single slot bad boys to town." 7. Overclocking The NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX+ Video Card How well does the GeForce 9800 GTX+ overclock? We set off to answer that question today by finding the limit of our card and running a number of benchmarks to see just how well it does. Our original review showed that the GeForce 9800 GTX+ was 10.4% faster than the Radeon HD 4850, so any gains should be money in the bank. Read on to see how NVIDIA's first 55nm GPU overclocks on the GeForce 9800 GTX+ video card! Quote: "The highest settings we could get stable with the GeForce 9800 GTX+ were 855MHz on the core and 2200MHz on the shaders. That is 55MHz higher on the core and 175MHz higher on the shaders than what we could reach on the old 65nm G92 core. For those that like percentages the overclock is roughly 6% higher on the core and 8% more on the shaders, which is significant, but nothing over the top. Usually with die shrinks overclocking performance stays close to the same, even more so when no major architecture changes are made. It should be noted that the memory overclocked better on the GeForce 9800 GTX+ and it seems NVIDIA has moved over to Hynix branded GDDR3 memory ICs. The GDDR3 memory IC's on the new GeForce 9800 GTX+ card were Hynix H5RS5223CFR-N2C, which are rated 1200 MHz (GDDR3-2400) 0.8NS with 1.5V. These are the same memory IC's that were found on the GeForce GTX 280 cards we reviewed last week..." Title: Xigmatek Achilles CPU Cooler Link: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Xigmatek/Achilles Brief: The Xigmatek Achilles S1284 heatsink has many improvements over the famous HDT-S1283 cooler. There are now four U-shaped heatpipes, and they are nickel-plated. The fan design is new and unique as well, with its white LEDs that light up the fan's smoke frame and orange blades.

  10. Hello Webmasters and News Posters, NEW CONTENT (Mobile) - ASUS Eee PC 1000H Under The Covers QUOTE: "Eee PC 1000H is Taiwan’s version of the latest Eee PC launched by ASUS late in 2007. Since then, like a wildfire the Eee PC revolution has burned asunder all competition before it. There is literally no other genré of PC like it. However, that being said, I have to say the look and feel of the model we are looking at today is a lot different from the first Eee PC we originally exposed in all her innocence a while ago. Today we are going to strip down a juicier, more mature model; something seductively more endowed, and covered in glossy black. No more innocent “clad in white” teeny tid-bit viewing; this is an all-black leather mistress with her whips and chains, and it took a great deal of coaxing to calm her out of her plastic glossy black briefs." 11. Hello Technology News Community, I4U NEWS published a review of the Logitech Driving Force GT Steering Wheel. Quote from the review: "Today we are looking at the Logitech Driving Force GT racing wheel specifically designed to be used with the PS3 game Gran Tursimo 5 Prologue. The wheel has force feedback effects and controls to allow real-time adjustment of car performance. The force feedback effects are good with the Driving Force GT, but simply not in the same league as the G25. That said the price of the Driving Force GT is not in the same league as the G25 either. You can pick up the Driving Force GT for $149.99 and the G25 will set you back $299. For the vast majority of users the Driving Force GT will be ideal for driving games like GT5." 20. Hello, We've just posted our latest review and would love it if you linked it. TIA! "No matter what you want to backup - important or personal data from a digital still camera, digital video camcorder, TV and so on - the Lite-on DH-4B1S is a good choice for recording large volumes of DVD and high-definition audio and video. Its fast Blu-ray disc/DVD writing and rewriting functionality should also meet the needs of the most demanding Blu-ray DVD title creating and multimedia applications on PCs, and support for all the popular legacy formats makes it a practical choice. The only disappointment is lack of Dual-Layer (DL) Blu-ray support, allowing you to burn up to 50GB of data." http://www.biosmagazine.co.uk/rev.php?id=762 _____ Christian Harris Editor/Publisher BIOS (http://www.biosmagazine.co.uk) _____

  22. Just because we hate our readers we have YET ANOTHER short graphics card review for your perusal. This time we have tossed the newly announced, but not yet available, GeForce 9800 GTX+ on the test bench and compared it to the announced, and maybe available, AMD Radeon HD 4850. URL: http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=580 Quote: "My guess is that the marketing team at Big Green didn't want to one-up the recently released GT200 parts - some people might assume that singe it was built on the 65nm process while the new 9800 GTX+ is on the 55nm, that the GT200 would be inferior in some way. As we saw in our performance review of the GeForce GTX 280/260 cards, that's obviously not the case but I can see how some readers might make that conclusion." Thanks for posting!! 23. When most manufacturers design an enhanced specification graphics card they tend to increase the core and memory speed, others might do this and add a fancy cooler. Visiontek have on the other hand gone above and beyond this by doing both as well as completely redesigning the PCB to improve the size of the product and the features available to their customers. Today we are looking at the Visiontek Radeon HD 3870 X2 Overclocked Edition. We will be running the card through a selection of the latest games at resolutions up to 2560x1600 as well as delving into some Blu-Ray playback testing and overclocking in order to see just how much Visiontek can improve on ATIs original design. http://www.driverheaven.net/reviews.php?reviewid=581 DriverHeaven and GamingHeaven News Mailer

In recent years though, Coolermaster have branched out into other areas, and attempted to apply their industry defining style and panache to other product types. Today I'll be testing 3 of CM's top of the line Real Power modular PSUs; lets see if they can live up the Coolermaster name." *A news post on your site would be very much appreciated.
