Plantronics Discovery 925 Bluetooth Headset Review The Plantronics Discovery 925 Bluetooth earpiece is your essential conversation piece, blending an elegantly simple VFrame design with crisp sound quality and lightweight, couture comfort. The effortless set up, AudioIQ noise control technology and carrying case with rechargeable battery let you stay in touch and in style while you’re in motion. Is the five hours of talk time and AudioIQ noise control technology enough to impress our staff? Read on to find out! Quote: "The comfort level of the Discovery 925 is incredibly nice. After finding the right size to wear, you start to wonder why manufacturers haven’t come up with a similar design yet. A friend of mine who has small ears and has always had problems wearing “in-the-ear” type of headsets was able to fit the Discovery 925 with no problems at all. It doesn’t matter if you are left-ear or a right-ear Bluetooth wearer, you can switch between ears with ease. Some headsets like the Jawbone require you to physically change the hardware for this basic switch. After using the 925 for a few days, there is no way I want to go back to the “ancient” fit of an ear hook like the Jawbone or “deep in the ear canal” of the Gennum. These headsets are great performers, but their fit is not as comfortable, free and versatile as the 925..." Hello fellow editors! Tech ARP ( http://www.techarp.com/ <http://www.techarp.com/>'>http://www.techarp.com/> ) has just posted the Used Lens Buying Guide. Quote - With digital SLR cameras so affordable now, it's inevitable for techies and budding photographers alike to snap them up like hot cakes. But while the cameras are cheap, the lenses are not. But fret not, because you can actually buy used lenses instead. Used lenses are a real bargain but there are some things you should be aware before you buy them. And that's what this guide is all about. Here's a quote from the article :- "Lenses are not cheap and that's a fact. Good lenses can cost anywhere from a thousand dollars to a few thousand dollars. Budding photographers will discover that the cost of the SLR or DSLR body is nothing compared to the cost of buying lenses for the camera. Even cheap telephoto and wide angle lenses can cost a few hundred dollars each." Hi all, We have just published our *Mod of the Month competition* for May 2008. If you could post a link on your site that would be very much appreciated. *Link:* http://www.bit-tech.net/modding/2008/05/31/motm-may-08/1 *Picture:* http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2008/05/motm-may-08/fp_img.jpg *Quote: */""If you build it, they will come..." That long over-used saying is about as perfect a description as you'll get for the long, hard project of HEPH?STUS by Yemerich. The project started out as nothing more than an incredibly organised design, which took over 32 pages to detail the potential construction. Why? Apparently, there was a design contest offered by the folks at Windows Vista Magazine, where the maker of the best overall design would win some lovely sponsorship assistance. One look at the design thread will give you a good example of why Yemerich was indeed the winner...but what about turning design into reality?" /* *Cheers guys! Tim Smalley www.bit-tech.net

Hi, It's Kristofer from DragonSteelMods, and I have a new review today that I think your readers might find interesting. Title: Boxwave ClearTouch Crystal and Anti-Glare Screen Protectors Reviewed ( -at -) DragonSteelMods Review Link: http://www.dragonsteelmods.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=7781&Itemid=38 Review Snipit: "I've got two screen protectors from Boxwave for review today, both are their ClearTouch brand, but one is the Anti-Glare version while the other is the Crystal version. I had both installed for 2 weeks each to get a good idea of how they work and just how good they are and of course to compare them together for this review. In my time with them I've found them both to be very good quality and offer excellent protection for your phones screen, they're both washable and reusable making them a long lasting product, not something you'll use and toss away. Of course after using them I found one to be more to my liking than the other, but that's just for my personal preference, which one you'll choose will depend on your own needs. " Review Picture(200x150): http://www.dragonsteelmods.com/Images/reviews2/boxwave-protector/protect15.jpg Main site link: http://www.dragonsteelmods.com A post in your news would be greatly appreciated. Dear Editors, we just posted a new article which might be interesting to your readers. A post in your news section would be appreciated. Title: Yuin OK1 Earphones Link: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Head-Direct/Yuin/OK1 Brief: Yuin OK1 is the name of Yuin's brand new top-of-line earphone. The OK1s are rather special since they can both function as a pair of regular earbuds or as in-ears. The design is also completely revamped. When driven by a proper amp the sound is lightyears ahead of any other earbud we have previously tested.

Hello Webmasters and News Posters, NEW CONTENT (Casing & Cooling) - Thermaltake MaxOrb EX CPU Cooler QUOTE: "Thermaltake is back with one of our favorite CPU cooling designs, the Orb. The latest offering is a revamp of the MaxOrb we tested back in December, but with a twist of copper added in for good measure. The original MaxOrb fared well in our performance tests and I found the mounting mechanism for Intel motherboards innovative. Let’s dive in and take a look at the new Thermaltake MaxOrb EX; we’ll then test it the same way we did the MaxOrb and all of our other CPU coolers to see if Thermaltake were able to get even more performance out of the Orb design." Hi all, We have just published pictures of an *AMD ATI Radeon HD 4850 reference card* - if you could post a link on your site that would be very much appreciated. *Link:* http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2008/05/31/amd-radeon-hd-4850-pictured/1 *Quote: */"Visiting one of the many manufacturers here in stormy Taipei, we just happened to stumble across this little number sitting on the side. A few shots later (why is it the most important ones always have the most blur?) and we decided to ask around as to its story. Apparently, it's a dummy sample direct from the double-A team, which the companies use to get the basic gist of what they need for artwork and branding, and so that they can start working on their own cooling solutions. Said company remained exceptionally tight lipped (like a well trained terrier) about the details of the card, and we didn't have time to whip out the screwdriver to see underneath. Check the (overly zoomed) picture right to see that it's the RV770 all right!" / * *Cheers guys! Tim Smalley www.bit-tech.net

Hi all, We have just published a hands-on preview of *MSI's Wind sub-notebook* - if you could post a link on your site that would be very much appreciated. *Link:* http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2008/05/30/first-look-msi-s-wind-sub-notebook/1 *Picture:* http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2008/05/first-look-msi-s-wind-sub-notebook/fp_img.jpg *Quote: */"We dropped into MSI's headquarters in Taiwan this morning to get some hands on time with its new Wind PC. For those unaware of its importance, it's not only MSI's first //netbook but also one of the first to carry the Intel Atom processor. Having played with the Eee PC and quite frankly, finding it much too small to be comfortable, the 10-inch Wind was a real pleasure to use without crippling my hands into looking like a lobster claw (fingers all pinched together). The Wind will launch in plain white, but will also have the option of these cool tattoos. Now, not being one for art splashed over the cover of electronic gadgets I have to say (while reaffirming my masculinity here) that it looks awesome. Another thing the Wind has over the Eee PC is the fact it feels like a quality product -- with the Eee, you're aware of the (inexpensive) price you pay in the feel of the plastic. I have to say that it's even got a less cheap plastic feeling than MSI's notebooks that are twice the price." / * *Cheers guys! Tim Smalley www.bit-tech.net

Futurelooks News Flash - Originality is Key in Microsoft's ZUNE Strategy in Canada
news posted a topic in Upcoming News
Hello Again, Futurelooks weighs in on the Microsoft Zune Originals program for Canada... Originality is Key in Microsoft's ZUNE Strategy in Canada To solidify the ZUNE’s position as a device with substance, Microsoft has carefully crafted a plan to introduce the product into Canada as a statement of a users preferences and tastes. As Craig Tullet, Microsoft Canada’s ZUNE Group Manager said “Zune is about showcasing people’s individual tastes and preferences and Zune Originals is yet another way for Canadians to personalize their experience”. By creating this experience of originality and uniqueness, it is very clear that Microsoft is not going for the “new look, throw away the old one” strategy that Apple seems to take every year. While much has been made of Phenom's lack of performance when compared to the Intel Core 2 based products, I was curious how much faster the Phenom was than the older Athlon X2. It turns out that AMD had been quite busy under the hood, and the results were more impressive than I had originally expected. URL: http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid=567 Quote: "We can safely assume that on AMD's current 65 nm process, we will not see the Phenom go past 2.5 GHz. Going to 2.6 GHz and above would simply result in a product with an insanely high TDP and very stiff requirements for motherboard manufacturers to support in terms of power delivery. In the desktop market, this is simply unacceptable. While AMD uses a system of constant improvement with their process technology, we are simply nearing the end of what AMD can do with its 65 nm process." Thanks for a post! Hi all, We have just published some pictures of an engineering sample Intel Nehalem processor and an early X58 development board. If you could post a link on your site that would be very much appreciated. *Link:* http://www.bit-tech.net/news/2008/05/30/nehalem-and-x58-show-up-in-taipei/1 *Quote: */"First, the CPU and its new socket: while the roadmaps say the high-end Nehalem to be launched in Q4 will have up to eight cores, the one MSI had in its office was just a quad-core but with eight threads. The socket is still LGA, but instead of the 775 used on current boards, this one now features 1366 pins and is slightly rectangular – not Pentium Pro rectangular, but simply a stretched out square. The back of the socket now has a metal backplate to brace itself and I’m afraid you’ll be buying a new heatsink too because the socket fittings have changed since LGA775. In fact, the whole area that needs to be exclusively for “Intel CPU use” is now apparently over twice the volume of that compared to LGA775 giving motherboard manufacturers even less space to shoehorn in additional components."/ * *Cheers guys!
