  2. Hello Webmasters and News Posters, NEW CONTENT (Casing & Cooling) - APACK ZEROtherm ZEN FZ 120 CPU Cooler QUOTE: "Today we will be looking at the APACK ZEROtherm ZEN FZ 120; the latest CPU heatsink and fan combination from the company. Once again, from the outside the cooler looks like many others’ designs that have taken over the enthusiast market for the last few years. Let’s have a look and see if the ZEN FZ 120 can surprise us like the Hurricane HC92 Cu8800 VGA cooler did in our MEGA 9-Way VGA Roundup back in April. The ZEROtherm ZEN FZ 120 features a copper base and heatpipe that extends to aluminum heat dissipation fins that stand just a tad over 6 inches tall. The specifications claim that the cooler is capable of cooling up to 150 watts, making the FZ 120 an enthusiast class cooler built for overclocking or cooling Intel and AMD’s flagship processors." 3. Hi all, We have just published a review of *Overclocked: A History of Violence for the PC* - if you could post a link on your site that would be very much appreciated. *Link:* http://www.bit-tech.net/gaming/2008/05/24/overclocked-a-history-of-violence/1 *Picture:* http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2008/05/overclocked-a-history-of-violence/fp_img.jpg *Quote: */"Overclocked is the unfortunate and sad reality of the adventure game genre today -- a genre populated by cheaply produced and really quite uninteresting titles made primarily for Nordic and German audiences where they somehow manage to cling to the fringe of popularity. There are many problems with / /Overclocked, not least of which is the off-kilter and often irrelevant dialogue. The interface is also a little unwieldy at times and there are a whole slew of smaller errors and tweaks that really should have been done to the game as rudimentary courtesy for players. And yet, it retains some level of charm if only on a slightly masochistic level. There is a strange pull to the story of these five people who were mentally broken from their experiences and the gameplay, while staid, is enough to make the story accessible. / /Just. At the end of the day though, the cons clearly outweigh the pros and while / /Overclocked will no doubt maintain some appeal with the adventure game enthusiasts, the majority will want to walk on by and try something a little more polished."/ * *Cheers guys! 7. Hi News Posters, We have finished the review on the Lexar JumpDrive Lightning. Title: Lexar JumpDrive Lightning ( -at -) Tech-Reviews.co.uk Briefing: Nowadays everyone has a flash drive. The prices for USB drives have fallen dramatically in recent years meaning it’s now a good time to replace your old sluggish drive. But why would you want to do this? Well, with the release of Windows Vista and Ready boost (enabling you to use Flash Drives as RAM); the transfer speeds on many drives has increased so transferring your files will be quicker than ever. Also, programs can now be installed on drives, enabling you to run Email Clients, Office Tools etc all off of your USB stick. However, to do this, a vast amount of disk space is needed on your drive, but don’t fret, 4GB flash drives can now be had for around £30. Today we’ll be testing a new drive from Lexar, the 4GB JumpDrive Lightning, lets see if this drive really lives up to its name. 13. Hello Technology News Community, I4U NEWS is testing NVIDIA’s 3-Way SLI with a trio of NVIDIA 9800 GTX video cards. Quote from the review: "When all the testing was done it was apparent that on the same test machine with the same exact settings on some tests 3-way SLI performed better than Quad SLI did. The tradeoff for 3-way SLI is that not all of the boards out there support it, while many support normal SLI. You also give up all of your expansion ports save one (if you are lucky) when you have three cards in your machine." 14. Dear Media friends, APH Networks has published a new review that your readers might enjoy. A post in your site's news section would be greatly appreciated! * Title: Asus Striker II NSE 790i SLI Motherboard ( -at -) APH Networks * Description: Imagine this: You are an engineer working at Asus. As a member of the team to design and engineer boards for the company's Republic of Gamer line, you and your team are given a task to create what the world will soon define as the ultimate enthusiast motherboard on the Intel platform. The goal of this project is to make a board that totally dominates the competition in the market as a flagship enthusiast motherboard, which naturally has to be completely-really-uber-1337 in all areas. Did you say performance? Check. Did you say features? Check. How about the looks? We got that covered. Anything else a hardcore computer enthusiast will appreciate? That's quite a challenge -- you got to be creative and imaginative. Fortunately, none of us here at APH Networks works in quite a department that requires such superior engineering skills and imagination at hand. The great thing of being a reviewer is that instead of thinking about what to implement in the design, we were instead given a product as a result of such marvelous work -- the Asus Striker II NSE motherboard, based upon NVIDIA's 790i chipset -- and we can have all the fun in criticizing (And praising, what were you thinking?) the hard work of these people. So we present to you our review of the Asus Striker II NSE motherboard, a product that's based off the Striker II Extreme that the Asus bosses probably told their engineers, "Make the ultimate motherboard. Go absolutely nuts, good luck, have fun." So they did. Just don't pass out when you see the price tag. * Link: http://aphnetworks.com/reviews/asus_striker_ii_nse * Image: http://aphnetworks.com/review/asus_striker_ii_nse/010.JPG

  16. Extendible OS X search agent targets deals on Craig’s List, Ebay & more - Published on 05/23/08 Black Pixel Luminance announces Agent Craig, the internet search agent for OS X Leopard. The application currently provides automated background searches for deals on Craig's List and Ebay, and can be extended to do considerably more via 3rd party plugins. Seattle, WA - Black Pixel Luminance has released Agent Craig, an internet search agent for OS X Leopard that helps users respond quickly to new ads posted on Craig's List as well as Ebay auctions. The software runs as a background application, providing an unobtrusive way to look out for items of interest during work or at home. Discrete pop-up messages notify the user of new results matching their search terms, and each search campaign can be customized with a distinct audio alert. "We needed Agent Craig for ourselves and could tell early on that it was going to be a popular tool," said Dan Pasco, Black Pixel's CEO, "we look at contract gigs for our professional services group on Craig's List, but we needed a way to poll for ads instead of checking them manually. We also needed better ways to track the status of jobs we had applied for." Users can browse search results matching their criteria, annotate results with notes for future reference, and blacklist search results deemed irrelevant to prevent them from showing up in subsequently defined search queries. "We are excited by the potential of Agent Craig," said Black Pixel director of engineering David Brown, "The extensibility provided by the API is allowing us to take it in directions we hadn't anticipated. There is certainly more to it than meets the eye." Although presented as a tool primarily intended for bargain hunters, the software is highly extensible via its plugin API. Black Pixel is currently working on new plugins capable of taking the application to a much broader market, and 3rd party developers can write add-ons of their own as well. Pricing and Availability: Agent Craig sells for $29.99 and is available for evaluation and purchase at the Black Pixel Luminance website. 20. DH Review: PC Power & Cooling Silencer 610W http://www.driverheaven.net/reviews.php?reviewid=570 PC Power & Cooling is one of the most reputable high performance PSU manufacturers, if not the most reputable. This good reputation is no doubt helped by them not offering budget products, only mainstream and high end models. When OCZ bought PC P&C nearly a year ago many thought that the quality of their units would somehow degrade however every unit they released since then had an excellent design and really the move to the OCZ camp has had little impact. Today we will take a look on a unit from the Silencer series which is aimed at mainstream users, the Silencer 610W EPS12V. Interestingly the Silencer 610W EPS12V is the first PC P&C unit we have received that clearly mentions OCZ technology on it, let us have a closer look at it and see how good the latest mainstream PC P&C units really are. 22. Hello fellow editors! Tech ARP ( http://www.techarp.com/ <http://www.techarp.com/>'>http://www.techarp.com/> ) has just posted the CeBIT Australia 2008 Coverage. Quote - CeBIT (Centrum der Büro- und Informationstechnik or German for "Centre of Office and Information Technology") is the world's largest computer expo (COMPUTEX Taipei is the 2nd largest) and was first established in 1970. It is held each spring on the world's largest fairground in Hanover, Germany, and is a barometer of the state of the art in information technology. Since 1999, the CeBIT sponsor Deutsche Messe AG ("German Trade Show, Ltd.") has organized trade shows outside of Germany bearing the CeBIT name, CeBIT Australia is one of them. As our luck would have it, ChampionLLY was in Sydney just in time for CeBIT Australia! Let's take a look at some of the pictures he sent back. Direct URL - http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=544 Logo URL - http://www.techarp.com/article/Events/CeBIT_Aus_08/icon_big.jpg We would appreciate your help in getting the word out. 23. Hello, We received some impressive news from the 80 Plus organization, they tested the latest high END PSU from Coolermaster and gave it a Silver Rating which is a first ever in the industry (http://80plus.org/manu/psu_80plus/psu_join.php) More info and quote below Title: Cooler Master first to get 80 PLUS Silver for high-end PSU "Power supplies who have an efficiency starting from 80% will get the standard certificate. For those who can manage to reach an efficiency starting from 82% and at least 85% will get the Bronze award. And then there is also the until now almost impossible to reach Silver award that needs at least an efficiency starting from 85% and up to a minimum of 90%! And until now it's still an utopia that a power supply reaches the Gold award with an incredible efficiency starting from 87% and up 90%. Till now only Dell and NXP have achieved to reach 80 PLUS Silver with their 255W and 270W power supplies. But today Cooler Master is the first one that manages to achieve with a power supply above 300W. Where most power supply manufactures still have trouble reaching the Bronzed award with power supplies over 650W, Cooler Master manages to reach Silver with nothing less than 900W!" http://www.madshrimps.be/vbulletin/f22/cooler-master-first-get-80-plus-silver-high-end-psu-44265 __________________ Thank you in advance for posting,
