Hello fellow editors! Tech ARP ( http://www.techarp.com/ <http://www.techarp.com/>'>http://www.techarp.com/> ) has just posted the ED#90 : Second Generation iPhone Details Leaked! Quote - It's been quite some time since the first generation of Apple iPhones was released, which took the world by storm even though it was only officially launched and made available in a few countries. Now Apple is getting ready to take the world by storm again with Apple set to reveal details of the second-generation iPhones this June! We recently spoke to an executive involved in the production of the upcoming iPhone Gen 2. He/she naturally wishes to remain anonymous, but during the course of that meeting, we were able to elicit many details about the second-generation Apple iPhone that would certainly keep many iPhone fans awake with anticipation over its eventual release. Here's a quote from the editorial :- "If you already own an iPhone, the second-generation iPhone would actually be a nice upgrade. After all, your iPhone would likely be at the end of its warranty period or close to it by now. Besides, the longevity problem with its touch screen would necessitate an upgrade one way or another." Direct URL - http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=542 Logo URL - http://www.techarp.com/editorials/img/0818_2nd_Gen_iPhone_big.png We would appreciate your help in getting the word out. Making the Switch With Operating Systems ( -at -) CoolTechZone.com "Operating systems seem to have received more attention these days than they have ever before, and while there are numerous available discussion points, in relation to new versions of these operating systems, one of the biggest trends that has been fascinating to watch is how people are switching operating systems like crazy. When I say switching operating systems, I don?t mean upgrading to a newer version of an operating system that they already have, but instead, I?m talking about switching platforms completely, a la the switch campaign for OS X from Apple." Hello Webmasters and News Posters, NEW CONTENT (Digital Lounge) - Where Have All The Blu-rays Gone? QUOTE: "Overseas, we have seen a lot of Blu-ray talk of late. Former HD-DVD heavyweights Universal Pictures and Paramount Pictures have now aligned (or re-aligned, as the case may be) with the Blu-ray Disc Association and have committed to releasing Blu-ray products in the very near future. In Australia, Universal remain quiet on Blu-ray support, albeit with the promise it is coming, and Paramount have just announced four titles for release on the 31st of July. But apart from that, the release schedule is still looking rather gaunt. So why is this? Despite the colossal amount of PlayStation 3 units that have Trojan horsed themselves into Australian homes, Blu-ray disc sales are generally low. Of course, it’s a catch 22. They are struggling to sell because of general lack of content, and distributors (especially locally) are generally wary of releasing because they aren’t selling a fraction of the numbers their DVD counterparts are." Sans Digital MOBILSTORE Hard Drive Enclosure Review @ Hardware Canucks
news posted a topic in Upcoming News
Hardware Canucks is pleased to present our review of the Sans Digital MOBILSTORE hard drive enclosure. Link: http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/6633-sans-digital-mobilstore-hard-drive-enclosure-review.html Quote: The subject of today’s review is the Sans Digital RAID MOBILSTORE dual bay external storage enclosure, which has both USB and eSATA connectivity options. This enclosure not only supports the normal range of RAID modes such as Raid 1 and 0 but even has what Sans Digital calls Safe33 and Safe66. We will go into detail about what these new hybrid RAID modes are all about later in this review, but for now it is suffice to say which they have the potential to bring a whole new dimension to your typical external enclosure experience! While we are very used to seeing bickering between companies like NVIDIA and ATI, AMD and Intel and Microsoft and Sony, one segment of the PC market that has been surprisingly quiet over the years has been the manufacturing vendors like MSI, ASUS and Gigabyte. Well that all seems to be behind us now as a "day time melo-drama" of sorts has broken out between two companies that were at one point last on the brink of merging. An integer underflow vulnerability allowed attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the logged-in user (CVE-2008-1801). A buffer overflow vulnerability allowed attackers to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the logged-in user (CVE-2008-1802). An integer signedness vulnerability allowed attackers to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the logged-in user (CVE-2008-1803). In order for these vulnerabilities to be exploited, an attacker must persuade a targeted user to connect to a malicious RDP server. The updated packages have been patched to correct these issues. _______________________________________________________________________ References: http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2008-1801 http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2008-1802 http://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2008-1803 _______________________________________________________________________ Updated Packages: Mandriva Linux 2007.1: c2479d8376d88be833aa8f955c2c1dab 2007.1/i586/rdesktop-1.5.0-1.2mdv2007.1.i586.rpm e5f1b4ec2271ff281deb72ca8b868140 2007.1/SRPMS/rdesktop-1.5.0-1.2mdv2007.1.src.rpm Mandriva Linux 2007.1/X86_64: 5476b145af183bba4c4959ab1536696d 2007.1/x86_64/rdesktop-1.5.0-1.2mdv2007.1.x86_64.rpm e5f1b4ec2271ff281deb72ca8b868140 2007.1/SRPMS/rdesktop-1.5.0-1.2mdv2007.1.src.rpm Mandriva Linux 2008.0: 80a8efe2616d7e8b66914505901a4895 2008.0/i586/rdesktop-1.5.0-3.1mdv2008.0.i586.rpm 837469cc175b5a48694dbd66b7eedc11 2008.0/SRPMS/rdesktop-1.5.0-3.1mdv2008.0.src.rpm Mandriva Linux 2008.0/X86_64: 4930b6ec7d4e565e4f06a6b2a090f34c 2008.0/x86_64/rdesktop-1.5.0-3.1mdv2008.0.x86_64.rpm 837469cc175b5a48694dbd66b7eedc11 2008.0/SRPMS/rdesktop-1.5.0-3.1mdv2008.0.src.rpm Mandriva Linux 2008.1: 3d690f988c35ec2345928339619f6abd 2008.1/i586/rdesktop-1.5.0-4.1mdv2008.1.i586.rpm ab205bea3e169673599c18d05d8d59a9 2008.1/SRPMS/rdesktop-1.5.0-4.1mdv2008.1.src.rpm Mandriva Linux 2008.1/X86_64: f41256a3643c67c77a5d83dc2683fdb3 2008.1/x86_64/rdesktop-1.5.0-4.1mdv2008.1.x86_64.rpm ab205bea3e169673599c18d05d8d59a9 2008.1/SRPMS/rdesktop-1.5.0-4.1mdv2008.1.src.rpm Corporate 4.0: 51418206cc2473da8e5cd2382be3c0e2 corporate/4.0/i586/rdesktop-1.4.1-1.1.20060mlcs4.i586.rpm a8292c842bc727ca14bdfc454debfd58 corporate/4.0/SRPMS/rdesktop-1.4.1-1.1.20060mlcs4.src.rpm Corporate 4.0/X86_64: 14df9b9cc7c73d6ab2a11dafa3e08a13 corporate/4.0/x86_64/rdesktop-1.4.1-1.1.20060mlcs4.x86_64.rpm a8292c842bc727ca14bdfc454debfd58 corporate/4.0/SRPMS/rdesktop-1.4.1-1.1.20060mlcs4.src.rpm _______________________________________________________________________ To upgrade automatically use MandrivaUpdate or urpmi. Hi there, We've just posted our latest review and would love it if you linked it. TIA! "If you're shopping for a robust flash drive that has the added benefit of security and synchronisation tools, the DT400 is an ideal solution. Sure there are cheaper alternatives, but few will help keep your documents and settings completely up-to-date, in sync, and totally secure. The only feature you might want is biometric security, but you'll pay a lot more for this built-in stronghold. Kingston's DT400 is supported by a 5-year warranty and free 24/7 technical support." http://www.biosmagazine.co.uk/rev.php?id=738 _____ Christian Harris Editor/Publisher BIOS (http://www.biosmagazine.co.uk) _____
