Everyone and their uncle seems to own a laptop nowadays (thanks to ever decreasing costs & increasing wireless connections). But laptops are also very prone to damage due to their movability. Belkin have developed a laptop case aimed at those who need a laptop case, but not for transport. It seems to be aimed just for keeping it safe in your home. So today at Live Blueprints we see if it is actually worth the money Thumbnail (150x150): http://liveblueprintsplus.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/thumb343-150x150.jpg

  8. Today we look at OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500 Reaper HPC 4GB Edition. SNIP: Despite the fact that DDR3 has a slightly better performance and consumes less power compared to DDR2, it is still hard to recommend DDR3 unless you have a huge chunk of money to spend. For a far less price, one can purchase 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 instead of the more expensive 2GB (1X1GB) of DDR3. Not only is DDR3 so much more expensive compared to DDR2, in real-world, you would hardly see a major performance increase using DDR3. Of course, this could all change in the very near future as DDR3's price will drop with more motherboards on the pipeline supporting it and manufacturers ramping up the production. Until then, DDR2 is still a better choice to buy. That is why we are seeing many memory manufacturers still not giving up the DDR2 and releasing higher performance DDR2. A month or two ago, OCZ the released DDR2 PC2-8500 Reaper HPC 4GB Edition. This is one of the highest clock speed 4GB DDR2 that is available on the market. Today, join us as we put this memory to the test. http://www.bjorn3d.com/read.php?cID=1250 A post on your site would be great if you can. Thank you, Scott -----------------------------------------
  9. Hi again everyone - Apologies for the inconvenience, the link contained in the last newsletter was incorrect, please use the below for any new posting. Many thanks! ATI and NVIDIA - Video playback quality and performance analysis "Although playing back DVD content is easy enough with any modern CPU now, the advent of High Definition content and the rise of Blu-Ray as the winner of the next-generation optical format war have brought new and far more demanding computing requirements to the PC marketplace. While a CPU alone will struggle to handle High Definition content recorded in 1080p, modern GPUs are ideally designed and placed to take most of that workload away from the CPU, which means that the latest generations of graphics boards from both NVIDIA and AMD's ATI graphics division are capable of accelerating most if not all of a High Definition video stream." http://www.elitebastards.com/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=559&Itemid=29 Thanks again! 10. NZXT is a company focused on the needs and desires of PC enthusiasts and gamers alike. Today, we are taking a look at their newest mid-tower case: the NZXT Tempest. While aesthetics, quality and price are important considerations for those purchasing a computer case; with this addition to their lineup, NZXT have set their focus on one core feature: cooling. The question posed is: "Have NZXT created a quality case that can aptly be dubbed the "Airflow King"?" http://www.driverheaven.net/reviews.php?reviewid=547 _________________________________ Driver Heaven News Mailing
  11. Hi everyone, I hope you all had a good weekend. Regardless of whether you're using a PC as a Home Theatre system or not, video playback is becoming an ever-more important part of the average system, especially with BD-ROM drives available at pretty reasonable prices and DVD-ROM drives on sale for next to nothing. Coupled with this, we've seen plenty of effort being put into video decoding via GPU acceleration from both ATI and NVIDIA, with a focus on both performance and picture quality. Thus, we've taken a look at both of these aspects of video playback in the current marketplace, seeing what both major graphics IHVs have to offer consumers. 13. Fellow Webmasters, Site Owners and Newsposters, Tweaknews.net has released yet another review onto the internet. They offer 100% of the functionality of a standard mouse, but have it all packed into a smaller package. In addition, seeing that most laptop buyers are consumers that like to be unplugged and free to roam (hence why you buy a laptop), it is only common sense that a wireless mouse would make a smart purchase." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Could you email back saying you posted it, TWEAK IT LIKE YOU MEAN IT!!!! And yes, it overclocks like a beast.

I'll opt style over rugged. And that's where the Rally seems to suit me. Incredibly handy small USB flash disks that are fast and now range up-to a 32GB file-size. As stated we'll look at two OCZ "Rally" models today, the 4GB OCZ Rally 2 Turbo and then the colossal (in volume size) 32GB version of the Rally 2 (without the Turbo though). The ASUS Eee PC may not be for everyone but with a new Windows XP version that maintains the same $399 price point it might find a way into your home whether you originally were interested or not. In fact, one even has to wonder if the Linux version of the Eee PC will continue with the new 9" version of the Eee PC just around the corner; carrying two SKUs for the same product where the only difference is the OS seems unlikely, though ASUS could always allow users to download and install the Xandros OS if they want..." 20. Hello News Partner: Benchmark Reviews has released a new article which your readers might enjoy. We would be grateful if you would please share it with them. TITLE: ASUS Eee 8G PC 8GB SSD Notebook ( -at -) Benchmark Reviews DESCRIPTION: ASUS has created a huge wave in the sub-notebook & portable Internet device markets with their Eee PC. Sub-notebooks are normally wonderfully exotic looking hardware for delightfully high prices. Well, exotic until one looks at the specs. The MacBook air is a great example - it looks like a killer machine until one looks at the combination of the lackluster specs and a price that makes even the most enthusiastic Mac fan blush. As for portable Internet devices, the Nokia N series is the first that comes to mind. Granted, they are really fantastic machines with excellent screens and software, but I am a bit old school I suppose. I still want a real keyboard. The Nokia N810 is close, but like my HTC TyTN, the keyboard is good for casual data entry and not suitable for long sessions of messaging, IRC or typing out documents or spreadsheets. The Nokia and other portable devices tend to also be pretty light on specifications, unless one is willing to pay the obscene price that OQO wants for their sub-sub-notebook. ARTICLE URL: http://benchmarkreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=165&Itemid=1 IMAGE URL: http://benchmarkreviews.com/images/reviews/notebook/ASUS_Eee_PC/frontpage.jpg Thank you for your being a dependable affiliate and posting our news; we appreciate your support. 21. A news post would be great. OCC has published a new review of the Apevia Warlock 900W PSU Here is a quote from the review: Quote: "Well, I was pleasantly surprised with the Warlock. It not only has the looks but the performance to back it up - and quiet too! It appears as if Apevia has finally got its act together ... to a degree. Unfortunately, there were several small annoyances with the Warlock: unthreaded screw holes, an odd rainbow paint coat, and combining connectors onto a single cable - things I hate seeing on such a high-end product." 22. Greetings, Overclockers Online has posted a new review. A news post would be greatly appreciated. Title: Samsung CLP-610ND Printer at Overclockers Online Link: http://www.overclockersonline.net/?page=articles&num=1671 Quote: The Samsung CLP-610ND is an affordable option to the high end CLP-650 and a great replacement to the lifeless CLP-300. Priced at $150.00 more than the CLP-300, you won't be disappointed in what you pay for. First off, you get built in network capability. This is a must have for any business! The second and more important aspect of the CLP-610ND is the quality and speed of each print job. The self-calibration increases some print jobs but ensures you get top quality every time. At 21 pages per minute, you can have your report in your boss' hand in no time. Thanks for the post! Cheers, Simon
  23. The latest re-spin of AMD's multicore die fixes the bug known from Erratum 298 and opens up a bit of overclocking headroom. Gone is also the requirement for a BIOS fix causing the known performance hit. To make things even more appealing, running in native performance mode actually unleashes better performance in memory-intensive applications than what AMD Overdrive ever brought back after the patch. All in all, AMD seems to be on the right track with the latest -50 series. AMD's Phenom X4 9850 http://www.lostcircuits.com/cpu/amd_phenom9850/ Thanks for any news coverage!
