LanOC Reviews has released a new article which you and your readers might enjoy. We would be grateful if you would please share it with them. *TITLE:* Building and 3d printing a Nixie FunKlock ( -at -) LanOC Reviews <https://lanoc.org/review/3d-printing/7571-building-and-3d-printing-a-nixie-funklock> *DESCRIPTION:* A few years ago when I first replaced my desk I wanted to add a clock to the office to keep track of time better. I didn’t want something normal and went with a retro looking flip clock. The flip design was something I always liked but the model that I picked up didn’t fit well under my monitors and later the noise from the motor, not the actual flip started to drive me crazy. After that, I kept looking for something to replace it with but never found what I was looking for. Then about 6 months ago I came across Nixie tube clocks and fell in love. The prices though were just too much. I decided to build my own using a kit I found online and printing the outside components. The hardware came in during the Intel launch and this past weekend I set aside the time to start working it. *ARTICLE URL:* https://lanoc.org/review/3d-printing/7571-building-and-3d-printing-a-nixie-funklock *LARGE IMAGE URL:* https://lanoc.org/images/reviews/2017/nixie_clock/title.jpg *SMALL IMAGE URL:* https://lanoc.org/images/reviews/2017/nixie_clock/email.jpg Thank you for your help Our content is syndicated by *RSS* 2.0 at: http://lanoc.org/review?fo rmat=feed&type=atom Check out our *YouTube* Channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/LanocReviews Follow us on *Twitter*: http://www.twitter.com/LanOC_Reviews Join our group on *Facebook*: http://www.facebook.com/LanOCReviews Join our *Steam* Group: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/lanoc *If this message has been sent to an incorrect address, or you no longer wish to receive our news, please email us back and let us know at reviews ( -at -) lanoc.org* ---------------------------------------- Wes Compton Editor-in-Chief LanOC Reviews http://lanoc.org ( -at -) LanOC_Reviews <http://twitter.com/#!/LanOC_Reviews> Google Plus <https://plus.google.com/u/1/b/111054267662763089650/> Our Facebook Page <http://www.facebook.com/LanOCReviews>

Its advance has changed our world and we do things every day that somehow touches flash memory in some way, shape or form. The easiest example might be a quick look at your smart phone and wondering why it is more powerful than the typical home PC just a few years ago. The latest success in the world of flash is 3D NAND flash memory, 64-Layer memory in fact. This memory provides the consumer with incredible performance, value and storage. The Toshiba XG5 1TB NVMe SSD contains Toshiba's newest 3D 64-Layer BiCS memory and our report will examine Toshiba's newest memory, as well as their newest NVMe controller to go along with it. _________________________________________________________________________________________

Frankly, it seemed a little too good to be true. In one hand, Huang held a legacy 10-pound boat anchor of a gaming notebook, while in the other he held the new ASUS ROG Zephyrus, a sub-5 pound machine that's just 17.9mm thick. Extolling the virtues of the new ASUS notebook powered by a GeForce GTX 1080 with Max-Q Design technology, he pointed out that the new machine had 3 times the gaming performance of the old one (powered by a mobile GeForce GTX 880) at half the weight and 1/3rd the thickness. It was a stark contrast to be sure, and a bold claim, and you know we're the type to put bold claims to the test... We couldn’t reveal much about the drive back then, but Toshiba eventually lifted the veil, and revealed a new family of drives dubbed the XG5. If you're unfamiliar with the technology, Toshiba’s BiCS flash memory employs a three-dimensional (3D) stacked cell structure that is designed for high density applications, but it also offers higher endurance than typical 3D NAND flash memory. Toshiba's NVMe XG5 series specifications are rather impressive. The drives will conform to the standard M.2 2280 "gumstick" form factor and offer sequential read and write performance of up to 3GB/s and 2.1GB/s, respectively, over a PCIe 3 x4 interface... This overlay forms part of the 'Surround' RGB lighting experience to which GIGABYTE have included headers for the AMD LED RGB fan, as well as an additional RGBW LED strip header, all of which can then be controlled via the RGB Fusion app. LINK: https://www.vortez.net/review.php?id=1313 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------- Please post this news item in your news section. The PDF code continues to be enhanced, and we're restored MacOSX 10.4 support. Font-related fixes and improved error handling for X round out the release. For a complete log of changes, please see http://cairographics.org/releases/ChangeLog.1.15.6 Features and Enhancements ------------------------- * Detect if variable fonts have synthesized bold/italic or non-default variants, and use a fallback font where needed. * Restore MacOSX 10.4 support. Cairo had dropped 10.4 support when moving to the CoreText API. Now we automatically detect which API to use via dynamic linking, so can resume supporting this older version of MacOSX. API Changes ----------- None Dependency Changes ------------------ None Performance Optimizations ------------------------- None Bug Fixes --------- * Fix error reporting in the xcb backend if fallback fails. Instead of returning NULL when the X11 server can't do some operation, return a surface in an error state. * Call XSync in the xlib backend before setting the error handler to ignore errors for certain requests, to make sure all pending errors are handled first. * Fix text-glyph-range for quartz-font. Use 0xFFFF instead of 0 for invalid index tracking. * Fix handling of Supplementary Multilingual Plane (SMP) Unicode characters in quartz-font. * Fix various issues in the drm backend including up[censored] API usage and general code cleanup. * Clarify documentation regarding device scale inheritance and the units used in cairo_surface_create_similar_image.
