By: SarkDnake
As many Red Alert 2 Players already know since Service Pack 2 for Windows XP Red Alert to has been prone to many Glitches, one that has annoyed me most was Red Alert 2 Crashing when an INCOMING TRANSMISSION in game Video was played and the game froze the best known solution was to save 2 seconds into the video and load that save. But o found a solution to this problem. The problem is cause by the Sound Hardware Acceleration
so to fix this you simply lower the Sound Acceleration
Here is how to do this
1. Left Click Start
2. Left Click Control Panel
3. left Click Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices
4. left Click Sounds and Audio Devices
(+) A window call Sounds And Audio Properties should appear
5. Under the Volume Tab you will see a box labeled Speaker settings Left Click on the Advanced Button
6. Now Click on the Preformance Tab and you will see Hardware Acceleration And next to it an slide bar ranging from None to Full move it one slot after None
None |--[|]--|--| Full
7. Left Click Apply and Then OK
8. Play Red Alert 2 and enjoy!
