If you cant access shared files on other computers as weell, and the laptop has recently been updated by Microsoft then the following could of happened. The NeBIOS Feature in your Network Adpater could have been Unchecked. This will stop you from accessing anything on the network, depending what other feature of the network adapter are enabled.

What model of HP laptop is it? Ad DosFreak said try down loading the drivers from the HP Website. Next time you buy a laptop from HP or someone i would burn the back up CD's. OH and also the original Hard Drive has a Recovery Partition on it so you could have recovered it by using that, it you could still access that part of the drive. No nee to boot windows XP to do that.

Hi all, I have a HP Deskjet F2100 which i would like to use with my Windows Server 2003 PC, which i use all the time. But i can't find any drivers that will help me with installing the scanner on to the ocmputer. I can use the Printer find but i just cant get the scanner to install. Can anyone help me or direct me to some drivers that will make it work. Many Thnkas T Parky
