  1. Not Linux friendly. I purchased the Biostar TF8200 A2+ with the intention of running Linux on it but ran into many, many problems. I tried Ubuntu, Gentoo, PCLinuxOS and Sabayon. Only Sabayon would boot without special options. EVERY distro except for Sabayon required pci=nomsi to boot at all. Only Sabayon supported the Nvidia 8200 video out the gate and NO distro supported it well. For example, I used the Nvidea supplied Linux driver and successfully got the video driver working but then the automatic updates overwrote the X directory and blew out the video support. Sabayon works great EXCEPT for the ALC888S audio. I cannot get that working correctly and I've tried every trick that I could find on every site. It works but sounds "scratchy". I think that the problem relates to the lspci reporting unknown device for all of the Nvidia chips which then fails to load the proper modules (a guess). This board works well for Windows XP in every regard EXCEPT that, after much wasted time, I cannot get the onboard SATA-II fake-RAID to work. Of course, Sabayon Linux has no problem with it. For a Linux board, look elsewhere.
