bypass the router to check the modem. use ethernet. the motorola surfboards only need the disk if you're using usb and you only need usb if you're using windows 98 or later or ethernet card is not working. go to start menu, run, type in cmd, type in ipconfig/renew to renew the ip adress. check internet connection. windows vista is a little more complicated is it cable internet or dial up? if it's cable and you're using internet explorer, go in tools and make sure that it's not trying to dial a connection, auto detect proxy server.

i still use spybot s@d, symantec and adaware. symantec seems to be running all the time and is heavy on the processes, and you can't run the other two at the same time, of course, but i have never had a virus. there's only a few sites that i frequent for networking, research and online game play so i think these are great for my usage. i think symantec came with my version of windows and the other two are free.

i played both DK games when they came out and i just had a comp built to play COD 5, so i'm pretty sure it should work, but, i've tried to download the demo from 3 or 4 different sites and nothing. it seems to install just fine but when i try to play it, the screen goes black, like it does before COD 5 starts up, but then it goes straight back to desk top. i plan to buy the full version if i can find it, but for now, i must play this game. has anyone else had this issue?

USB external drives not showing up in My Computer
Wolff-BRIG- replied to archangeljenn's topic in Hardware
after rebuilding my pc, my usb's in the back didn't work and the only thing i put back different was a plug in the motherboard. on my particular motherboard, there's 3 plugs and i couldn't remember which one i had it in the first time but when it didn't work, i used one of the other ones, rebooted, then it was fine. -
i know about what it does, but there's alot involved and i don't want to burn up anything. i was hoping someone has some of the same hardware and know how to over clock it. i've researched some of it but don't feel confident enough to start cranking things up.
