Update!:
I have uninstalled the old driver and updated it with a newer
version. The scanner now does the scan, does NOT freeze up, sends it to
PaperPort which does now open, BUT, I now get a message that says "PaperPort
cannot import the file because it is either damaged or not in PaperPort format."
My guess is that it is not corrupted and that the file is not in the ".max"
format. In One Touch 4.0 properties with the PaperPort destination selected,
there are 5 options in the "Select Format" area: Bitmap, TIFF, JPEG, PDF & no
OCR. There is NO ".max" format available. I have no idea why, as this was always
the format used primarily with PaperPort. There does not seem to be any way to
use that format.
Another guess: I'm thinking that the updated driver, One Touch 4.0, may not be
compatible with PaperPort v8 software. That the newer software no longer uses
the .max format. What do you think?
I will probably try uninstalling the newer driver and reinstall a fresh copy of
the older driver. I'll be in touch!
