I did a search on "Avenue .Inc". This is a tracking cookie and not a program. Most likely one of the ad servers is using this to store the time between visits. This is usual because there are session based ads, which will be displayed only every couple of hours.

These #$%@#$%#@W Pop Up Ads that somebody at NTCompatible.com has fallen in love with - just in the past month it seems. Sorry for the inconvenience. The only pop ups that run on this website are session based and appears every 24 hours. I am already trying to keep the real annoying ads out. Anyway, I disabled the pop ups on the entire website for logged users now. Originally posted by badnewz: Quote: why are we gettin them now and never before? The new forums store the login information for security reasons in a cookie. The old ones used both cookies and sessions.

I just tried the latest DVD snapshot of Debian Sarge (testing), but apt-get didn't recognizes the Debian DVD/CD during 'apt-get install'. Adding Debian DVD/CDs using apt-setup works without problems. Any idea what's wrong? This was a clean install using the new Debian installer.

Seems like all the sites are not sync'ed well. Yes, I have the latest version of jigdo, using sarge to do the process. Yes, I used jigdo to download the images. It seems like that sarge gets updated to fast for jigdo. I would start downloading sarge immediately after the release of the next snapshot (tomorrow/saturday). There is also an alternative source of sarge/sid cd/dvds: ftp://ftp.fsn.hu/pub/CDROM-Images/debian-unofficial/

I found the problem. The release date (20040416) in the Code: deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux testing _Sarge_ - Official Snapshot i386 Binary-1 (20040416)]/ unstable contrib main line was missing for some reason. apt-get is now working

This is a bit difficult because of the caching system, but I will see what I can do.

Try to disable "kudzu" under services. There is a known issue with kudzu and 3com based cards.

The latest stable release (Opera 7.23) works fine. I will try the beta now.

Reply with Opera 7.5 Preview 3 running under Windows XP. Opera runs here with the default settings. -
A new forum upgrade is coming. I replace phpBB shortly with my own message board application. Here two screenshots: The new forum is fully integrated in the main site and have some new features like the possibility to mark a post as answer. However, some features such as who's online are missing in the current version.

Debian 3.0 (installed remotely over the original Red Hat 9 installation) Originally posted by AlecStaar: Quote: What was/would the former single Pentium III 1ghz CPU w/ 512mb PC-133 SDRAM server you had here before pushing CPU-use wise under that same load (was it also running 3++ sites also as well like this one is?)?? The old server was only running NT/Linux Compatible and my company homepage. The average CPU usage was around 30-40%. The main problem was the software installation (Red Hat 7.2 with Ensim): 1) PHP crashed random with memory errors (http://www.ntcompatible.com/thread23057-1.html) 2) Sometime Apache crashed during the logrotation reload at 4:00AM in the morning (http://forum.ev1servers.net/showthread.php?threadid=31746) 3) Updates may break the server (http://forum.ev1servers.net/showthread.php?threadid=25172) 4) Red Hat 7.2 end of life 12/31/03

Please bear in mind that this was my first attempt to create a forum application. Feel free to post any feature or layout suggestions. AlecStaar: This forum application is not meant to compete with other products. Originally, I needed a forum that supports multiple websites (e.g. NT & Linux Compatible). Both sites run now from the same backend.

Originally posted by AlecStaar: Quote: Now, I also noticed that majorgeeks.com is on the same IP address set nearly, are BOTH sites being served up from that new system? Yes, MajorGeeks and a few other sites are on the same server.

There is no need to click thru all pages. Clicking on the date of the last post in the thread overview will bring you directly to the last page.

Please check your cookie settings. It seems like that the login cookie gets deleted.
