  1. Hot Hardware has posted their GeForce 3 Ti 500 preview NVIDIA is at it again. Just when we were all getting used to the idea of a new chipset standard from the 3D graphics giant, we´re thrown the proverbial curve ball. The timing couldn´t be any better. ATi, NVIDIA´s main competitor, is about to ship their next generation product and what better way to steal ATi´s thunder, than to release a new product of their own? Better yet, how about a whole new line of products? Just about this time in 2000, NVIDIA not only unveiled the GeForce 2 Ultra but also a new set of drivers that promised to increase performance for all NVIDIA 3D chipsets. Well, a little over a year later we find ourselves in the same situation. Not only does NVIDIA have new hardware on the horizon but just a few weeks ago, NVIDIA´s "Detonator XP" drivers were released, with that same promise of increased performance. These new drivers coupled with the "new" hardware comprise the Titanium (Ti) line of products. Read more

    MSI K7T266 Pro2 Review

Techhard has posted a review on the MSI K7T266 Pro2 motherboard. Recently two new chips are being announced together by VIA namely VIA P4X (P4X266) and VIA KT266A. As we know in the reference board tests both the chip outperformed in comparison to the currently available. Also, I did a comparison different VIA P4X (P4X266) boards available in the market with the Intel 845 and intel 850 chipset based boards here. Also, to highlight in all the test VIA P4X266 chipset proved itself. Read more

    Compex Wireless LAN Kit Review

GideonTech.com has posted a review on the wireless LAN kit from Compex. ...The manual is a good guide, so keep that near by when setting everything up. First off, make sure the drivers of the equipment are installed correctly. The host PC will have a different set of software installed, called Soft Bridge. This software provides the ´bridge´ between the wired NIC and the PCI PCMCIA Adapter. TCP/IP is definitely needed, so make sure that is installed. The software will automatically take care of binding issues so you wouldn´t have to worry about that... Read more

  6. Tweakers Asylum has posted a preview of Return To Castle Wolfenstein based on the multi-player demo. Well it´s back, and a helluva lot better than it was before. No one can deny that Wolfenstein 3D was a classic, but I think it´s just a bit out of date. Now that the multiplayer test of RTCW is out we can all get a little piece of what is to come of it´s successor. Read more

    RivaTuner v2.0 RC7.1

A new version of RivaTuner is out RivaTuner is the most powerful tweaking utility for NVIDIA display adapters running under Windows 98 / Windows 98 SE / Windows ME / Windows 2000 / Windows XP. The purpose of this utility is to give you access to the many undocumented features of Detonator drivers. All versions of Detonator drivers have a lot of undocumented registry entries. Some of them don’t affect anything, but there are some that are very useful. In general, they cannot give you big performance boost but they can improve image quality and solve some compatibility problems. RivaTuner will help you to change all undocumented registry entries. It supports all versions of Detonators drivers starting from Detonator 2.08 under Windows 98 / Windows 98 SE / Windows ME (Detonator 5.08 or higher under Windows 2000 / Windows XP). Read more

    Nvidia GeForce3 Ti 500 Preview

Tweak3D has posted a Geforce3 Ti 500 preview Titanium is here! What the heck does that mean? It´s the next generation GeForce product from Nvidia. Dubbed "GeForce3 Titanium 500", it´s one bad mammajamma with a score to settle. Okay, so at first glance, it´s nothing more than a hot-rodded GeForce3. But like a typical hot-rodder, Nvidia knows the saying, "If it ain´t broke, don´t fix it." Read more

  12. PC Stats has posted a review on the Archos MP3 Jukebox Recorder There are many MP3 players out on the market to choose from. Generally these portable music players fall into two categories, high capacity harddrive-based storage and low capacity flash-based storage. AMD Duron 1.1 GHz Review

AMDMB has posted a review on the AMD Duron 1.1 GHz Morgan Core Processor While Intel seems to be quite content with their current line of value processors, the Celeron, even when falling behind AMD’s past Duron steppings, AMD is continually looking to improve. Not wanting to even leave a slight opening for Intel in this category, AMD decided to release the 1.0 GHz Duron in late August and is now set to release the 1.1 GHz model to the PC community. Rounded ATA100 IDE Cables Review

Overclocked Cafe has taken a look at the rounded ATA100 IDE cables The big question on my mind was "Are they just another pretty face?" I have been using "home grown" rounded cables for a while, and although I had never done a comparison with flat cables, common sense says "round is better," the smother more aerodynamic edges don´t disrupt the case air circulation quite so bad. MSI MX400 Pro-VT32S Review

VIAHardware.com has put up a review on the MSI MX400 Pro-VT32S Video Card. The MS-8833 includes all the features of the MX400 chip, and also includes Video-In and Video-Out (TV) support, as well as DVD software and video editing software (and the 183MHz memory clock of course). You might think that with the extra software you will be paying more for this card than others. You would be right, but the difference isn´t as plain as price. The MS-8833 runs ~$80-85, with other MX400 based video cards costing ~$5-15 less. The catch? Most other MX400 based cards don´t have the TV-Out at all, and certainly won´t let you edit movies. 18. FrostyTech has posted a review on the OCZ Dominator Microfin Heatsink The microfin technology combined with the 38mm focused flow fan are a powerful combination and the performance factor is hard to ignore. The clip works well, and is easy to engage without the need for tools which is always nice to see. I think the noise produced by the fan will limit the in-house applications of this combo to the die-hard, or acoustically insulated cases. Still it is one nicely built cooler, and with that big fan and grill up top kind of looks deadly powerful, which it is... Read more

    Water-Cooled GeForce3 Titanium

Savage News send words that 3D Power will release the first water-cooled NVIDIA based product. Read more
  20. There is a "Optimum bios settings for the KG-7" guide on OC Workbench BBS The main thing will be cooling. Before any successful overclock of the FSB you must have your CPU and case cooling optimized. Placing heatsinks on the voltage regulation mosfets is a plus also. You need to determine first your CPU´s MAX overclock. No matter what combination of Multiplier and FSB speed it will not go over that. You´ll need to experiment there a bit. Once you find that point, get out the calculator and find a high FSB and multiplier combination that will equal your CPU´s high limit. Start by changing those parameters but leave the FSB a few MHZ under to start. If it fires up and is stable, power down and go in and up the FSB a MHZ at a time until you become unstable. Then back down a notch or 2 until you have absolute stability. My threshold is 175MHZ right now. I can boot at 176 and 177-78...but benching is not stable. Read more

    Bitspower NP80D Cooler Review

Overclockers New Zealand has posted a review on the NP80D cooler from Bitspower. It is surprising to see there is virtually no difference between the NP60D and NP80D, despite the difference in size. The situation under load has not changed much. The NP60D and NP80D are still very close to each other, with NP80D always 1 degree lower then NP60D. These two coolers will be able to sustain the heat given out by today´s processors. Read more
