    Abit KG7-RAID Review

Hexus has put up a review on Abit´s new AMD761 DDR board, the KG7-RAID. So, to conclude the testing at 1.2 GHz, the KG7-RAID is a favourable performer. I wish I could have directly pitted it against an Epox 8K7A+, the current 761/686B leader but that´s possibly for another review. Using Sandra and the ORB, we can see that the system performs very well. Using the MP in the KG7-RAID helps as you would expect. They are a good match. Read more
  3. Tweakers Asylum has posted a review on the Soyo SY-K7V Dragon motherboard. As far as motherboards are concerned, Soyo has typically been an “OEM” style of manufacturer. The Soyo SY-K7V Dragon not only breaks this tradition, it completely shatters it. Based on the VIA KT266 chipset, the Soyo SY-K7V Dragon is able to offer the end user several useful features. So what kind of features does the Soyo SY-K7V Dragon offer? How well does it perform? What about overclocking ability? Well, let’s get to it and find out exactly what the Soyo SY-K7V Dragon can, and can’t do. Read more

    Magic-i Keychain Review

Hardware Extreme has posted a review on the Magic-i Keychain. The Magic-i can save phone numbers, birthdays, reminders, and even includes a fortune teller. It holds a ton of information similar to a PDA or a laptop, but weights and consumes less space. The Magic-i is better yet a small PDA with the purpose to save phone numbers, birthdays, reminders, and fortune teller. Read more

    VIA P4X Motherboard Roundup

VIA Hardware has posted a round-up on the first batch of VIA P4X based motherboards. Boards tested in this round up include P4X266 boards from Acorp, Azza, Shuttle, and VIA´s reference board. Some of these brave and/or desperate manufacturers are represented here today, in the first VIA Apollo P4X266 motherboard roundup. Present and accounted for are ACorp, Azza, and Shuttle. Other P4X266 boards will soon be available from AOpen, Chaintech, ECS, and Tyan. Of course, many other P4X266 boards have finished development, but the manufacturers of these boards have far too much invested in i845 development to risk Intel´s pricing and supply wrath. Read more

    Sis 315 Graphics Card Review

3dXtreme has posted a review on the Sis 315 graphics card. Even in the days of the Geforce 3´s and ATi Radeon II´s, some people opt not to spend that amount of money but to get something that won´t break the bank. For the budget minded consumer we have the Geforce 2MX400/MX200 series of video cards as well as STM´s Kyro Based video cards. One company not to be considered in the High end graphics arena is SiS. While at times they have made some pretty promising products, none of them have been accepted by the gaming enthusiast. In saying this, I now have the pleasure to review SiS´s latest graphics solution aimed at the Budget minded consumer while still being able to play todays games at acceptable frame rates. Hence, the SiS 315. Read more

    Xitel DG2 MDPort Review

Neoseeker has put up a Xitel DG2 MDPort review Aficionados and stalwart supporters of the MiniDisc format have long been using their MD’s to record MP3 compilations… but until now the options were limited to either analogue recording, or else digital recordings on soundcards equipped with digital outputs. Sure, the superb Xitel AN1 gave astoundingly clear transfers in spite of being an analogue recording device, but some audiophiles and enthusiasts insist on digital recordings. Read more

  18. What´s the cost of little or no competition? For some Microsoft customers, it´s paying as much as 107 percent more for the software they buy in volume. As previously reported by CNET News.com, Microsoft on Oct. 1 will dramatically change how it licenses software to its largest customers. That change will drive up what they pay for products such as Office XP or Windows 2000 between 33 percent and 107 percent, according to market researcher Gartner. Read more

    Cyber Cooler P-8000 Review

GideonTech.com has posted a review on the Cyber Cooler P-8000 ...I do have to commend the good design of this clip. The clips that have the hinge that rocks back and forth are always easier to push down on when installing it onto a motherboard. Some of you may prefer the clips that have screw driver notches. If I could install the heatsink by hand, I rather use that than accidently poking a hole in my board with a screwdriver. Read more

The controller performed brilliantly fast in all the benchmarks, having significantly improved the performance of its predecessors. Samsung SD-616, 16X DVD Review

I am Not a Geek dot com has posted a review on the Samsung SD-616 16X DVD Rom Today we will be looking at Samsung´s SD-616 16x DVD. DVD-ROM´s seem to have topped out at 16x. I do not believe I have seen one faster, and 16x DVD-ROM´s have been out for well over a year. I have a feeling the reason they have not gone past 16x, is that at that speed the disc is spinning very fast, and if it were to go much faster the vibration would be to great. There are ways of improving speed by using a second laser like Kenwood´s line of True-X CD-ROMs do, but since DVD-ROMs are still primarily used to watch movies and not transfer data there is not much of a demand for higher speed DVD-ROMs. Read more

  24. OC Addiction has posted a review on the Philips Acoustic Edge soundcard Another thing I really liked was the amount of documentation provided to get both the casual user, and serious audio afficianado started with this product. The CD has several videos showing, not only how to install the card into your PC, but even goes as far as showing you how to disable your AC97 audio in the bios (if you have that sorta thing) so you´ll have a worry free install. There are also audio demonstations of the different Q settings. Read more
  25. Overclockers New Zealand has posted a review on the Abit KG7 AMD761 DDR Motherboard. DDR solution is the new trend now as SDRAM has reached its life end especially when DDR become more affordable. Abit has done a good job by using the AMD/VIA combination.
