Hardware Extreme has posted a review on the Lian-Li PC68 USB Aluminum case. First of all, you will notice the whole case uses tool free thumb screws - from the exterior to the interior. Then when the left cover is open, you will also notice all the normally sharp edges of the case have been covered with plastic to protect users - Have you ever cut your finger on your case?. Lian-Li obviously took the time to worry about how their users will feel about the case as a whole, not just how it looks. The case also came equipped with 2 front and 1 rear Adda fans. Read more

The Tech Zone has posted a review on the Abit KG7-RAID SocketA DDR mainboard. Abit´s KG7-RAID, is Abit´s latest offering among it´s SocketA motherboard stable. Sporting support for up to 4GB of system memory, 6 PCI slots, and a wealth of features, it seems Abit still know´s how. But let´s take a deeper look into this critter, and make a few unusual comparisons (more on this later). Read more

3D Spotlight has updated their weekly price guide with the latest prices for AMD and Intel CPUs, motherboards, videocards, soundcards and memory modules. This week best bargain we found was a 64mb GeForce 3 videocard manufactured by PNY Technologies selling for only $298.00. Also Athlon processors stay somewhat stable, we have the 1.1 Ghz Athlon selling for only $85.99, what a steal. We also found the brand new Audigy MP3+ going for $80. Read more

I am Not a Geek has posted a review on the 1GHz Duron CPU. [/i]The new 1GHz Duron is not just 50MHz faster then the Duron 950, it has a whole new core. The 1GHz Duron is the first to use the new Morgan core. The Morgan core is the same as the new Palimino core in the Athlon MP, the only difference, that it has only 64K L2 cache instead of 256K, which is the same thing that differentiates the old Duron and old Athlon cores.[/i] Read more

3dXtreme has posted a review on the Lian-Li pc-65 usb aluminum case. This is the best case I´ve ever used. I did miss the cpu shroud of the Fong-Kai FK320 however after further use I´ve noticed lower temps with the Lian-Li pc-65 usb case. The aluminum is not only extremely lightweight but very effective in cooling the entire system. With dual 80mm fans up front and a selectable setting customization is ever so easy. One word keeps popping into my head...thumbscrews! Everything is machined to exact specifications, thumbscrews are used throughout and the quality is second to none. However with a $170 price tag you should expect nothing less than the best. The factory modded plexi-glass side panel is another touch that puts the pc-65 usb case above the rest. Read more

Warp2Search send words that a new version of NvMax is out. This version is a major update. Fixed complete program failure on Windows 9.x/ME based systems (complete function failure). Fixed problem whereby no settings would save on Windows 2000/XP. This bug would not effect Color Control or Overclocking. Fixed problem whereby OpenGL FSAA would not report a value. NvMax now works driver independent. If registry settings change in new drivers NvMax will still work! Read more

Accelenation has posted a review on Iwill´s new dual processor motherboard, the DVD266u-RN. I believe the DVD266u-RN was the first dual Tualatin-S board that was announced, and unless something drastic occurs, it should be the first that is widely available in the retail channels. That means that much of the success of the Tualatin-S will likely be determined by how well this board is able to carry them. Iwill have shown with the DVD266 that they can make a fast and stable board that is fairly inexpensive. So the question is - did they fix on the flaws on that board such as the poor layout, and create a board that will rival the 2P Athlon boards like the Tyan Tiger MP? Read more

GideonTech.com has posted a review on CDI´s Custom mod, called the Inwin Alaska. Something I enjoy when using a well built case is the ease of installing my components. CDI chose the Q500 from Inwin very wisely. This case comes made from 1.0mm sheet metal, rounded edges on all corners and removable trays and cages. With these very minute additions in the creation of this case, Inwin comes out on top with its usability. This isn´t the newest case on the block, there are others but this one has stood the test of time and proved it got what it takes to survive. Read more

OC Workbench has posted a review on the 2theMax EP-4B2A motherboard. 2theMax EP-4B2A is the latest mainboard for the Pentium4 Socket 478 based on the i845 chipset. Last week, Intel officially introduced this new chipset, making the Pentium4 the mainstream by coupling it with SDRAM. In the past, we have reviewed the Pentium 4 mainboard but they are coupled with RAMBUS. RAMBUS is definitely more expensive and performs much better than SDRAM. With Intel introducing the 845+SDRAM, and the price cuts, it definitely makes it more affordable to those who prefer Intel (as you know certain applications runs better on Intel. e.g. Media Encoder). 3D Spotlight has posted a review on the ASUS A7A266, one of ASUS´ new DDR enabled motherboards. Asus have continued their new trend with motherboard features on the A7A, that being five PCI slots, one AGP Pro slot, one AMR slot, no ISA slots, and extra USB ports. The lack of ISA (hopefully) shouldn’t bother most people, but just five PCI slots will. The AGP Pro slot is of absolutely no use for 99% of consumers, who will just be using an AGP card based on the AGP 1.x or 2.x interface (allows up to 4x). However, the minority of high-end systems may be fitted out for high-end graphics work; in such case the Pro slot is a godsend. The other small advantage the pro slot brings is stability. Unlike some AGP designs from the likes of Gigabyte, it features a variable voltage regulator providing no end of current/voltage for ever more power hungry cards in the future (power supply not withstanding). NeoSeeker has posted a review on the HP Jornada 525 PDA The Jornada 525 PocketPC represents the entry-level of HP´s handheld computing devices. Unlike other companies who manufacture PDAs, HP decided to focus their efforts in the market of strictly colour PDAs. PDAs will at some point rival the desktop PC, but in the meantime HP brings the 525 to the table their entry unit with most of the features of the higher end models except in a scaled down version. Insideproject has posted a review on the Antec SX1030B SOHO File Server Case Inside the case there are great features for overclockers and advanced users. Quick release drive bays are sweet if you change hard-drives or other 3.5" hardware often. Snap-in fan mounts are also very very sweet feature, you can attach fans (80mm) without screwdrivers and screws, just snap them in. One of the Snap-in fan mounts is placed in HDD Bay for HDD cooling, very great feature if you use SCSI drives or other "hot" drives. Read more

Vipers Lair has posted a review on Max Payne Four years in development by Remedy, Max Payne was unleashed on the gaming community at the end of July 2001. It was late by a couple of years, but it looks like the wait was well worth it (Just like my review ). Unlike the popular action games, where the perspective is from the first person point of view, Max Payne takes a 3rd person, "Tomb Raider-ish" perspective. Read more

A new version of RAM Idle is out. RAM Idle will increase your performance by making more physical memory available for your system. This program will automatically free up a set amount of RAM and defragment it when a minimum of free RAM is reached. This program will enable your applications to load faster and more responsively. When you run RAM Idle for the first time, it will find and define the recommended levels for your system. However you may need to define these manually to find the best combination that will give you the best performance for your system. Download
