    ABIT Siluro GF3 VIO Review

Digit-Life has posted a review on the ABIT Siluro GF3 VIO video card. Today we will examine not only the ABIT Siluro GF3 VIO video card but also one more aspect of operation of this GPU, i.e. what can a user get from a new version of the NVIDIA driver, namely Detonator XP. According to the press-release of NVIDIA the Detonator XP supports yet unreleased Windows XP, and, of course, all current Windows versions (9x, ME, 2000, NT4.0). Before we turn to the card in question I should remind you that the whole theoretical base connected with this GPU is concentrated in the following articles (here you can also learn the peculiarities of certain cards and find out how they operate in the latest benchmark tests). Creative PC-CAM 300 Webcam Review

T-Break has posted a review on Creative´s new PC-CAM 300 webcam The shape of the camera seems a little weird but when you hold it, the grip is amazing. There is a small LCD screen at the back side of the unit that shows how many more pictures can the unit grab. The camera comes equipped with 8MB RAM which is enough for about 120 pictures in hi-res mode. (I guess we should be happy with the 8MB coz my Sony 3.3 Mega Pixel camera which cost me US$800 also came with 8MB) Read more

    Shuttle AV40r Review

Accelenation.com has posted a review on the Shuttle AV40r motherboard. The P4X266 chipset has certainly been making waves lately. As a matter of fact, it has been at the forefront of computer hardware news for the last few weeks. This is partly due to it being a good chipset which offers the best price/performance for the Intel Pentium 4. But what has really made P4X266 a headline is the multiple lawsuits that have been filed in relation to its release. Read more

Thermal Compound - Silver or ICE?

Maximum Hardware has posted a shoot-out between the top silver compound Arctic Silver, the new Nanotherm, OEM silver compound and some silicon paste. So I´m thinking, you´ve been looking over many sites, you´ve got hold of that lovely new copper cooler (or you may have just settled for your old one) and you´re looking to get the most out of it. How can you push the heatsink to its limit without marrying it with a huge fan or ducting? The answer, as I´m sure many of you know is thermal compound, but not just any. Read more

    eVGA e-GeForce3 Review

nV News has posted a review on the eVGA e-GeForce3 video card. With the performance of every GeForce3 available varying only slightly between manufacturers, each must stride to set themselves apart from the rest of the pack. Asus´ card features a huge GPU/RAM cooler as well as being the only card that has slightly deviated from NVIDIA´s reference design. Hercules´ card features an Orb-style cooler and a unique blue PCB. OCZ tech includes copper RAM sinks and better 2D filters while Absolute has an awesome games bundle. eVGA sets themselves apart by their unique patented ADM installation suite. This type of software has been in development for some time and has been needed by many for even longer. It allows easy plug and play installation and upgrade for every Windows based PC. Read more

    WahooViper Case Review

HardwareExtreme.com has posted a review on Wahoo Computer´s Modded Lian-Li PC60 Aluminum Case, the WahooViper. The customized options I selected include a window mod in the side panel, a 10-inch green neon light tube inside (complete with a power switch on the top of the case, which is a very nice touch), a top blowhole (with a Panaflo L1A fan and grills on both sides to draw air out of the case), two high speed fans in the front sucking air in, and a forth fan inside the rear of the case drawing air out. I also opted for a laser etched F-16 Viper (with that exact wording etched underneath the image) aircraft on the window. Read more

    Super Power Zephyr Mid-Tower Case

GideonTech.com has posted a review on the Super Power Zephyr Mid-Tower Case. The back of the case is a little different than what most tweakers and case modders may be accustom to. There is a piece of plastic covering most of the back area. Exposing only the PCI/ISA slots, I/O panel, and the power supply. For the case modders, you´ll probably want to chop away at the plastic covering that 80mm rear exhaust fan. You may also want to do the same for the exhaust hole for the power supply. Read more
  16. REDMOND, Wash. -- Sept. 13, 2001 - Microsoft Corp. and the organizers of PASS 2001 North America are deeply saddened by the horrific events that took place on Sept. 11, 2001. It is a tragedy that certainly challenges everyone´s ability to conduct their daily lives for the next few weeks and will forever affect the way everyone feels about the world around them. PASS, as a community, has no doubt been affected by these events. In light of this extraordinary situation, along with its logistical ramifications, Microsoft and PASS believe it is appropriate to postpone PASS 2001 North America, which was to be held Sept. 19-22, 2001, in Orlando, Fla. Abit KG7-RAID Review

Overclockers Online has posted a review on Abit KG7-RAID motherboard The KG7 comes with the SMIII as well, and that is also one of the main reasons why we like the KG7 as much as we do. The BIOS lets you control every single function and feature available on the board, resulting in total user control. Also note that the SMIII is a true jumperless BIOS so no more jumpers or dipswitches on the board that need to be set to get the desired voltage or speed setting. What more can you ask for? The SMIII gives the KG7 a very big overclocking potential, offering all the adjustements and settings you could ask for. You can set the front side bus to any speed you like, as long as it is a value between 100 and 200MHz. Up to now, the highest speedsetting we managed to achieve was 175MHz. At 180MHz the board would post but not boot into Windows ... whether this is a memory or a chipset limitation, I am not aware of ... but I´m sure you guys won´t complain with a FSB of 175MHz. Note that we had to use the slowest memory settings to achieve this kind of speed ... I am aware that this means that a lower speed settings with faster memory settings will outperform the 175MHz setting, but the goal was to see how high we could run the board, and that´s what we did. As soon as faster DDR memory becomes available, I´ll give it another go. Read more

    ThermoEngine V6 Heatsink Review

Computer Chaos has posted a review on the ThermoEngine V6 heatsink by Thermosonic. I must admit, this heatsink is nice and compact in size and very well put together. It is made from one solid piece of aluminum with 48 fins to transfer the heat away from your CPU. It has a nice molded plastic mounting area for your 60mm fan of choice, and you typical mounting clip that requires the use of a flat head screwdriver for installation. This unit weighs in at 258.6 grams which pales in comparison to the GlobalWin CAK 38 or the Thermaltake Dragon Orb which both weigh in somewhere between 400 and 500 grams. Read more
  22. Adrian´s Rojak Pot has posted the definitive review of the Thermaltake Dragon Orb 3 Copper Cooler Dragon Orb comes in three flavours :- - the Dragon Orb 1 with an all-aluminum base, - the Dragon Orb 2 with an aluminum base and twin radial fin design and finally, - the Dragon Orb 3 with a solid copper base. It also comes with two types of fans - a slower 4900 rpm model and the faster 7000 rpm model. The sample I received was the Dragon Orb 3 with the 7000rpm fan. In another words, I will be reviewing their ultimate Dragon Orb model. Read more

    DFI CS62-TC Tualatin Review

FlipChip has posted a review on the DFI CS62-TC Tualatin motherboard. DFI is and remains one of my favorite board manufacturers for one simple word, stability. DFI has sent quite a few boards here to Flipchip and while some have had lack luster performance and/or features they have all been very hearty under the stress of benchmarking. The CS62-TC as it turned out was no exception to this. Stable all the time, every time! I decided to sit on this review for a while so I could review it with the Tualatin chip that it was designed to support. They actually sent me this board before I reviewed the Intel board and Tualatin chip but due to the news embargo before that review I couldn´t exactly review the DFI board with the Tualatin chip and not let on that I had it. I am glad that I waited, this board is clearly one of the best I have ever tried. Read more
