Overclockers New Zealand has posted a review on Abit´s TH7-Raid I850 motherboard Abit includes an onboard diagnostic display which shows different codes in case anything goes wrong. A list of post-codes with explanations is in the user´s manual for easy reference. Next to the diagnostic display are two tiny buttons and one is for power on and the other is the reset button. Most people wouldn´t use them because there are two buttons which do the same things on your case. However, some players have their PCs without any case might like the idea. An easy access to the power and reset functions without extra wiring. I use Senfu DIY house which doesn´t need to use these two onboard buttons anyway. The design is good idea for a very specific group of tweakers. Read more

Adrian´s Rojak Pot has posted a review on the Dynatron DC1206BM-P625 Microfin Copper Cooler Well, on this newer model P of the DC1206BM series, I think Dynatron Corp has taken some pointers from these guys and improved the shroud design. It is now strong and solid. It no longer feels like it would bend easily. Kudos to them for improving the shroud! Read more

Transmeta Zone has put up a review on the NEC Versa UltraLite The Versa UltraLite is a highly engineered piece of kit that uses the Transmeta Crusoe TM5600 processor running at 600MHz to power Windows 2000, and anything else you can throw at it. With the Crusoe processor come two added benefits. The first being lower power consumption, and the second being cooler running temperatures. Putting sheer looks aside for brief moment the UltraLite breaks away from the shackles of legacy devices and dives headfirst into the cutting edge. Packed with dual Lithum based battery systems and twin USB ports this little notebook is built for the work-a-holic. Read more

TweakTown has posted a review on the OCZ Titan II MX400 SE Video Card. As I hinted to in the intro, OCZ has a hard time leaving well enough alone (thank goodness), so they went out and hand-picked some MX400 based cards that were running the 5ns memory. They tossed on a Blue Orb (with a generous coating of a silver TIM), and then clocked it to stock speed settings of 200MHz core and 200MHz memory. For those who have kept up with the newer technologies, you’ll recognize the fact that the 200MHz core frequency is the same that is set on today’s GeForce3 cards! Read more

3dXtreme has posted a review on the OCZ Titan 2 MX400 SE Video card. OCZ has directed the Titan 2 MX 400 SE at the budget minded gamer and it definitly delivers! The card can be purchased for $89 at the Overclockerz Store. For only $89 the card is the perfect solution for speed demons on a budget. Also with the cooling provided by the Thermal Take Blue Orb there are overclocking possibilites that I´m sure would change the benchmarks at the highest resolutions. Another plus is the modification to the RF filter the 2d quality of the Titan video cards looks even better than the reference cards. With the OCZ Titan 2 MX 400 SE you really can´t go wrong. 3D Spotlight has updated their weekly price guide. 3D Spotlight´s price guide has been updated to reflect changes for September 04, 2001. As always we have the latest prices for CPUs, videocards, memory, soundcards and other peripherals. Among other things that caught our attention: Crucial 256mb DDR memory selling for nothing more but $36.85. The Athlon 1.33Ghz is almost below the hundred dollars mark, very close one for $104. Other than that, we also found a GeForce 2mx card for only $54 and the recently released SB Audigy X-Gamer for $86. Read more

Hardware Extreme has posted a comparison on two popular water-cooling radiators, the AquaCoil and the BigMama. After hearing about water-cooling being the best method in cooling your processor, I decided to see which radiator has the better results. As an avid fan of cooling, I really detest the loud noise of many fans in cases. My case use to have about 10 fans, which whenever I brought it to a LAN, people would think I drove up on the case because of the amount of fans. Read more

T-Break has posted a review on AOpen´s 850/RDR based motherboard- the A4XT. AOpen´s philosophy, as far as features are concerned, is based on a pay for what you want. This board supports their Diagnostic LED module, but you´ll need to get it separately. There wasn´t any option for a RAID controller or Dual BIOS. However, a Network port is built on top of the USB ports for Network connectivity. A USB header is also present for additional USB ports, but the board was not bundled with an extra USB cable to take advantage of the header. Read more

Maximum Reboot has posted a review on the A-AMAX Napa DAV311 MP3 & VCD/CD Player The Napa DV311 MP3/VCD/CD player. One of many contenders out there in a never-ending war of who can bring the best, least expensive MP3 player. When we first saw the Diamond RIO 16mb MP3 player come out a few years ago, everyone thought that a portable MP3 would never take off. First reason being it could only hold 3-4 songs! Who would of thought back then in just a couple of years, we could store over half a gig of music heaven? But who cares about the past?! Time to rock & roll! Read more

Hardware-One has posted a review on the Logitech Cordless Mouseman Optical Without doubt, Logitech has emerged a renowned leader in "mous-ing" technology. Apart from successfully pioneering a cordless range of PC peripherals for the masses (including keyboards and mice), their optical mice have also dominated the market since its debut, following closely after Microsoft´s own rendition. Hence, it was only a matter of time, that their latest Mouseman rodent naturally evolved to embrace both technologies - optical precision and cordless freedom. The MouseMan Cordless Optical represents a climatic convergence of these techonologies, purportedly empowering users with unprecedented flexibility and accuracy. Short of including IFeel interactivity (with vibrational responses), this Logitech rodent seemingly has it all... Read more

Overclockers Online has posted a review on the Ricoh 20x10x40 high speed CDReWriter. More important is the Justlink technology on this writer to prevent those annoying buffer-underruns. Don´t know what this is? Well, a buffer-underrun occurs when your system (and the buffer) can´t provide data to the writer fast enough, even when the writer has a 2MB buffer like this MP7200A. This causes the writer to stop the burnprocess and makes your CD useless (this is called a coaster). Justlink prevents this buffer-underruns from happening. Justlink shouldn´t affect the reading quality in the slightest way because it leaves an extremely short link (the patch between the data when the writer stops to let the buffer fill up again) of 2 µm or under. Isn´t that great?! Read more
