I temporary disabled the avatar function because there is a problem right now with the upload. None of the uploaded avatars are in the avatar directory. Also, Philip, are you able to tell us what new features you've implemented in this release? This is actually a 3rd party product called UBB.threads, which is basically the successor of the original Ultimate Bulletin Board, the forum software that this forum originally started off. Some of the new features over the old forum are: attachment support, avatar support, multiple posting tracking options (My Watch List), AJAX based posting preview and a calendar. I made this switch because it is easier for the testing of the upcoming new CMS version to have the user database separated from the CMS. I am planning to run a hybrid install of both Storyteller 1.8 and 2.0 during the testing phase on the main sites. The colors? I worked a few hours on that theme . What should I change? I could also install a few additional themes.

Done Let me know if there are any problems. Your old logins should work with the new forum software and the (old) front page.

Thanks Guys. The forum merge is coming most likely later this weekend.

Yes, this is an old security feature. The next version of the CMS/forum will no longer doing this.

I will look into it later. The email-notification option is coming as part of the next major CMS update in a few weeks.

I can not reproduce this problem on my Opera installation, but I will do additional tests later.

Quote: After I close session and leave forum, I need to enter my logon again. It seems strange, but still ok. How did you close the session? Did you clicked the logout link? Quote: After some time I discover something and enter forum again to edit previous message. And I can't! How long did you wait? There is a 2 hour edit limit for each message.

Because you post this in the "Buy, Sell and Trade" forum and not in one of the Linux forums . All forums in the "other" section (Buy, Sell and Trade, Feedback, Slack Space) are shared between both sites. I moved this thread now to the Linux networking forum.

Is the bold font now better? You may need to clear your browser cache. Are there still display glitches with Firefox? Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce the issues with Firefox at all Here my screenshots: Firefox 1.07 under Windows XP SP2 http://www.ntcompatible.com/images/ntc-firefox.tiff Internet Explorer 6 under Windows XP SP2 http://www.ntcompatible.com/images/ntc-ie.tiff Safari 2.0.2 under MacOS X 10.4.3 http://www.ntcompatible.com/images/ntc-safari.tiff -
apt-get install mysql-server-4.1 will install MySQL 4.1 and upgrade the old databases to the new version

I am testing now an alternative stylesheet with bold fonts. To switch to the alternative stylesheet: Appearance => Bold. You find this option on the frontpage in the left menu. Are the fonts better readable? -

I still work on the updated layout. This will take some time. -
Hi Felix, Thanks for your suggestions. The thread locking feature is part of the next version of the CMS system. I will move to the new CMS version as soon the current development release can fully replace this installation. There are many other interesting features coming including attachments (with gallery functions) and email notifications.

I think I found a solution in the meantime. Expect another layout update in the next couple of days.
