Just a quick note on Fedora Core 3. FC comes already with two package installation applications that resolves all dependencies similar to apt-get. 1) yum More info here: http://linux.duke.edu/projects/yum/ 2) up2date This tool was originally for Red Hat Network, but the Fedora Core version support more than just Red Hat Network. Actually, it supports yum repositories, apt repositories, plain rpm directories, and Red Hat Network. Actually, the signatures are dynamic but the HTML output is cached by the caching system . This is no longer an issue in the upcoming version 2.0, after the cache will rebuild in the new version every few hours.

The forum is only a part of the CMS system and not a standlone script like UBB, phpBB or vBulletin. There are already advantages over other forums scripts like the ability to support multiple websites (e.g. NT/Linux Compatible).

This is actually on the do list for one of the next releases.

Perhaps in one of the future releases. There is already an option to put up a picture in the profile.

An enhanced search function is the first thing on my do list for the next CMS release (version 1.9), which is planned for December. I hope to upgrade later this week Linux Compatible to the current version of the CMS. The new version include move/merge options for the moderators and a few other improvements. Thanks for your suggestions. I am already planning to integrate both sites more, but this will take a few weeks after I am quite busy. An integration with MajorGeeks is not possible because they are using there own vB 3.0 based user database.

How about trying CentOS-2? CentOS-2 is a free rebuild of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.1AS. This version of Linux should be compatible with your application as well because it based on Red Hat Linux 7.2.
