BE6? thats a uniprocessor system right?? Just a question to all u uniprocessor fellas, why use win2k when u got win98 out?? it has better game/hardware support. I know all u dual fellas have excellent reason. But with a uniprocessor system its all about windown 98. (even though never in my life have I ever recommended anybody to run 9x, but u seem ike a hardcore gamer with that setup. Stick with 98.)

this is really killin me, cant update bios from 1.09 to 1.10
JimmyK replied to JimmyK's topic in Hardware
I can update my mobo's bios easlity ising awdflash every time. But the controller is supposed to have a different program to update its bios. Here is a cut and copy of the readme that came with the update for my controller. -------------------- cut & paste -------------------- When you got a new version of Hot Rod 66's BIOS from ABIT's web site. You can utilize load.exe to update BIOS of the Hot Rod 66 controll card. Please refer to following steps to reflash new BIOS. 1. Reboot and change the operation system to the pure DOS mode. 2. Make sure that the new BIOS file has been named BIOS. 3. Make sure that the new BIOS file is stored in the same directory as load.exe. 4. Execute load.exe with parameter BIOS as below: load BIOS 5. Done! -
SMP = Symmetric Multi Processing Running Rc1 and Rc2, with both chips at 572 mhz, and no probs with live. I sold my live though and downgraded to a pci128, got 50 bucks outta the deal and I cant tell MUCH of a diff between the sound quality. Super fly ur mistaken, I checked they dont work, my friends got that card, borrowed it gave it a whirl and its a no go, I also talked to a buncha fellas from the MS irc, they said it should not work. either u are running rc1 and mistaken, or ur using ddraw/software/opengl instead of D3D. If u can run shogo, in 3d accelerated mode then u know its working.
-
Please DO NOT post the following: "yeah it works for me" tell us how? What drivers? what card? somebody mentioned their Xentor tnt2, works with the normal drivers, and thats was NOT accurate. He must have been using rc1, I checked they do no work with my friends xentor tnt2 and 2128. Just post SOLUTIONS here. THX a lot fellas, keep u the good work.

anbyody using a TNT1 or 2 with 2128 and getting D3D post her

thx buddy but already tried those, didint work for me. the funny thing was I still had direct draw and no d3d, it didnt change squat, and yet I known I isntaleld them correctly. go figure. -
STB PCI TV, I got the win2k drivers but what do I use to display the darn thing? someguy posted it in the hardware compatiblity list, but there was no name or email so I could contact him.

mines 1.09 I tried flashing it: load bios.bin doesnt work though, dont know what to do....its just says loading flash eporum or something and goes back to command prompt
-
come on now man, lets not give responses like that. I would be pretty bent outta shape if the previous version did have it working and the newer one did not, u would be as well if it was your hardware. Asking him to use WIn 9X, is more punishment then I would inflict on satan himself But alas there is no sloution to use d3d with tnt in 2128, I would suggest to use 2072, or load up NT or something
-
mine says 1.09, what about u hugo? ------------------
-
mistake mistake he was using rc1... a lotta miscommunication
-
I am pretty sure I already updated it but how do I check the bios on my 66 controller?
-
the new bios didnt work either.
-
still a no go for me fellas, with a tnt1 and rc2. I tried the det and the normal drivers.
-
yup, its enabled for him. HEs got a v550 ultra and I dont know whats going on. Im gonna reinstall rc2 and try it again with my tnt1.
-
Ill send him an icq tonight, Ill get back to u fellas ASAP.

ur kidding?!?!?!? I just bought the 4224e and now Im returning it I jsut ordered a RMA number. I have NO expereicne with CDRW's. Please explain it to me buddy. It loads up as a cd in my explorer but I thought I needed special drivers to make it work under any OS. I tried the NT drivers but they didnt work with win2000. Iv got NERO which came with the drive. So how do I go about making a copy?
-
wow I jsut saw the weirdest thing. My friend whose a hardcore programmer has a v770 ultra in his box. He just upgraded to RC2, It old him that it doesnt have d3d support for tnt's, he said it did. So I told him to run the game shogo and send me a screen shot of the intro screen, and lo and behold it worked?!?!?! I dont know how he got it working, he didnt do anythign special hes not even a gamer so he wouldnt know crap about the det 2.08 drivers and what not. The screen was nice and smooth like the d3d version no pixelation like software. Heck my tnt didnt work at all with d3d in win2k rc2, Im REALLY confused now
-
tried it doesnt work with rc1 or rc2
-
wait a mintue shrink are u telling me that u got that drive to work with RC1??? I really doubt that, and there wont be any support for it for another few motnhs.
-
the betanews drivers didnt work for me. Im running rc1, I got rc2 but it doesnt do d3d with the TNT . I installed the new drivers plugged in an old 2.2 gig drive which Im not using and as usual it hung half way through boot up.

any good cd-rw's (IDE) that work with win2k rc1 or rc2?

I cant install the drive itself. I want a RW that has drivers that will install the RW features with the burner under win2k. [This message has been edited by JimmyK (edited September 17, 1999).]
