get hi quality peltiers and u wont have to worry about condensation, look around they are expensive but then u dont have to worry about fing up a couple hundred dolalrs worth of hardware. and no I dont use peltiers so sorry no personal input here.

Hes got a good comptuer 350 is fine, I wouldnt upgrade till 1 gigahert comptuer came out. yes a v3 is much faster then a v2, double if not more. Obviously there is no smp mentioned in his comptuer description, but that was a good point Johnny, but since only 1 game SEMI supports it it doesnt matter much right now. I think ur mistaken, the v3 drivers are supposed to be better then the nvidia ones. The tnt cards do not outperform 98 box's with exactly same hardware, not yet actaully they are slower. I dont htink ull get enough performance out of a g400 with ur current processor. ACtaully Im positive compared to a v3 2k at 166+ it will outperform a g400 in everything(most probably any tnt1,2,2u as well). V3 does not have a actual opengl ICD, so no windowed opengl for u. None of the advanced 3d graphical programs ie Maya, 3d studio max, softimage can take advnatage of the opengl acceleration like u can from a tnt. Once again Im trying ot show u the pros and cons. Like I said I have ALL nvidia cards, but from ur system specs and the fact u dont want to waste money I recommedn a v3 2k. Heck only reason I got my ultra was because I paid 75 dollars for it retail. But I love the thing and my tnt1 and my 128zx, they are all great cards for my use, and I got excellent deals on all 3 of them.

as most of the people here know Im a 100 percent nvidia man, heck I got a tnt2u and a tnt1 in this box and a riva 128zx in my otehr 2 box's. But in ur situation Id recommend a cheap 2d/3d Voodoo3, for that processor and everything the best BANg for the BUCK is 3dfx v3 2000. I think u can get a retail v3 2k for like 70 bucks compared toa retail tnt2u which is around 160+ thats more then twice the price.. and mind u Im talking about retail.

well the banshee should render u very similiar performance, but in some multitextured games u'll notice a drop in performance, and an increase in other games that are not (b/c the banshee has a higher clock speed, and they both have the same core). Plus Im thinking you dont have an agp slot so the banshee pci should be ideal for ur needs. lemme look around for banshee and win2k results.

hmmm v2 would be the best for a 200 mhz puter, have uthought about the banshee? Im not surte if ur problem is win2k compatibility or performance? the banshee is a good lower end card and wont set u back anything if u sell off ur other 2 cards, at www.agn3d.com BUT to be honest Im not sure how the banshee works with win2k.

a 444 day "trial period, thats a lot more then a year, sh*t summer will coem around and Ill have to unplug my router and update it before that trial period ends... Iv got the retail sitting right here box and all, just dotn need to upgrade so why bother...

oen of my routers is running win2k rc2, havent needed to upgrade it because its not giving me ANY problems and its been running over 4 months, without a SINGLE powerdown, restart, shutdown, software reboot. Its running a dual 233 mmx with gobs of ram. I havent checked it recently but Its got about half a gig. And this once build 2195 Iv had it running for 239 hours without a reboot but had to since I had to throw in anohter 128 stick.

if thats ur card then ur screwed, I got one of those stb tv tuneers in my junk pile, its based on the bt848 chipset and it looks like they aint gonan do nothing for it, not anytime soon at least. But who knows miracles do happen, righto?

MOst consumers are not like us. They dont knwo much about computers. and they do not know how good/powerful win2k is. And that ISNT just the normal no knowledge consumer those are actual people who browse the net, looking at articles reading stuff, trying to learn. I tend to babble a lot so Ill try to make it short. If 76 percent of the somewhat knowledgable people say they wont buy it, think about the number of goats that hear that on the news and will get scared ****less. It was on the news in my area (Virginia, USA) recently. Point being, hardware companies, will provide drivers and everything but they are going to take time to come out (possibly many more months for obscure hardware), I mean just because we are online all the time and make up a LARGE population of the educated buyers, the goofy buyers are MUCH greater in numbers (but we dont see them around obviously cuz they dont bother with forums, bbs's,, and newsgroups, heck u guys have seen the kidna questions we get in here, and this is supposed to be the smarter end ), and WONT be running win2k, not for some time at least. So just be prepared for a few dissapointments when win2k is officially released and drivers are slow in coming. Complaining here to us wont help ya Enough ranting for now, Ill add more later

3dfx image quality up to date, is very passable (well voodoo3 at least) but not anything special, its a well known fact thats been beat to death. I do not enjoy getting 200 fps at 640 its to no avail. With my tnt2u NOT GEFORCE, Im getting 70 FPS in 640x480 in HQ, and about 55 in 8x6. I prefer 60 fps but 55 is FINE by me at HQ. with normal settings at 1024x768 Im getting 60 FPS which is totally ideal for me, and it still looks better thena 3dfx card. And yes I do have both cards. Iv got a tnt1 a tnt2ultra in my primary box, a 3dfx v3 2k in my win98 secondary box, and a 3dfx banshee in my router. I prefer my tnt2u, but I do like both of them.

BAH! I dont like the CD, makes me feel like a 2 yr old playing with a top. its like getting buying a 44 automag, and then painting in sun streak yellow. But I guess Iv always liked darker colors and shades.

I dont think my tnt's were listed in the hcl, but they do work with multi monitoring. Im using a Tnt2ultra, and a tnt1-pci. PraetorJudis, why would it not work correctly?? my agp is my primary card and in the bios it was set to pci and I changed it to agp, and it works flawlessly.

3.69 renders my everything wokring, yet 3.75 is a weeee-bit faster but its compatiblity doesnt seem to be up to par of 3.69 (IE SoF demo, which works with 3.69 for me and not 3.75)

good response Ed. short concise and to the point. hehe anways, does this football gtame of urs autodetect the joystick every time u start the game? Maybe it still thinks u ahve the old controller plugged in, and thats why it isnt up[censored] the type of joystick you have in the game. Im not he most encyclopedic fella when it comes to Joysticks, and many other peripherals, but USB is a direct input peripheral. Meaning its a different input/interface then ur other joystick, thats why its not skipping. Plus its a newer/better technology in most senses and has better integration with the os (and of course its got gobs more badnwidth). Whaddya say? that make sense to ya?
