GeForce 256 - RC3 Build 2183 - v3.64/v3.56 - Not working
bigfitty replied to elbereth's topic in Hardware
I get the same error. i don't knwo what build, but i'm running rc1 with a tnt2. however if i use the 353 drivers, everyhting is peachy! (except for q3 ;P) -
asheron's call works fine!
-
watch out! seldzar's gonna start charging for access to his site! on topic; i am running rc1 with a pci(!) TNT and mx300. no problems! i can run the aoe2 demo without any difficulty. I have not switched to rc2 becuase of all the problems i have heard of with nvidia cards. as for the mx300, i haven't noticed any problems.

Autodefrag is a 3rd party util that is supposed to automate the built in defragmenter. It's freeware, so I can't argue, but right now it provides no more functionality than the built in app.

There's a hotfix for dhcp issues that cured my ip address problem. if you can't find it on MS's site, let me know, and I'll see if I can find the link again.

From what i read, starting this program without any switches would automatically defrag all your hard drives. All i can get it to do is pull up the defrag console... i have to manually start the defrag myself. Am i missing a key step? doing something wrong? does this work for anyone else?

FYI i couldn't get the "coolbits" reg hack to work either. Anybody got this working?
-
yay! now I can play AC!
-
on the hardware forum, there's a link to the 3.52 drivers....d3d works! dxdiag says its fine and asherons' call runs accelerated! yay!
-
i'm still trying to get mine to work as well... If you look in the w2k help files, it says you need to set up static routes in the RAS/ROUTING mmc has anyone got this working?
-
do any of these give you d3d?
-
just a guess, but have you tried using the NT4 drivers for your video card? it works for TNT cards..

win98 and 95 use your defualt login for authentication to other peer to peer machines. the easiest thing to do is to create a matching account on you w2k machine with no password (or a password if you use one to login to your 9x machine) and give it permissions to your w2k shares. in 98 you MIGHT be able to go into your windows\profiles dir to find out what your defualt login is.
