You got it right. I have 3 HDs. One on my regular IDE controller for Win2k and 2 HDs on the RAID controller for the data.
-
My setup is a bit different and that is also what we have setup with scsi at work. Install Win2k on its own HD with no raid. Then install the drivers for the raid controller and keep all the data on the raid array. This seems to work well. I had my raid 0 running for a year now.

A while ago I've burned a CD with some data and it was all fine. CD was readable and all the files were there. Then I had to add some more files to it. (cd was made for multisession) So Easy cd creator imported all the information, I added a few files and burned the CD. Now I can only see the directory list but NO files ! They just seem to be gone somewhere. If I do the properties for the CD, windows reports 224kb. But if you look at the CD you can clearly see that about 1/2 of the CD was burned on, and you can see that there were 2 sessions burned. So I wonder how can I retrieve the files from the 1st sessions?

Don't f*** with jumpers. Many bioses had problems with HDs larger then 32 gig. 1st thing you should do it go to your motherboard website and get the latest biosand flash it. Then check to make sure that your board reads HD as 80 gig. If it does then you should be ok. Also I think you need SP1 for win2k to read hds larger then 40.

Quote: I guess I missed that email. My mother for instance, doesnt know what a hard drive does. Do you think that windows makes it easier for her to know what it is? Nope. No it doesn't, but with windows you don't need to know that to do stuff. In Linux you have to know what do you want to do, how it has to be done and what do you need to do it. In windows you can make a few bad guesses and still complete the task.

You don't need safe mode to log-in as administrator. Just press ctrl+alt+del and it'll bring you back to "old" log-in screen. http://www.atstake.com/research/lc3/

Before you ghost the system run sysprep if it is available for XP. It was for 2000. If it does exist for XP it will make system change much more pleasant. You might also have to call Microsoft anyway. But if you have a legit copy I'm sure they will believe your explanation

You got it all wrong. Well... not all but anyway... VooDoo 1 or VooDoo Original. is the first 4 megs voodoo card (old an slow) VooDoo 2 cards (8MB & 12MB add-in) were NOT renamed to anything they simply died out due to the cost and availability of new voodoo cards VooDoo 1000, 2000 and 3500 are all based on the same Voodooo3 chipset just running at the different frequency and the all have (had) 16 megs of ram. Quote: VooDoo 1 or VooDoo Original. I remember those cards well, had that exact card, good old 4MB add-on card. It's certainly NOT VooDoo Banshee, that was a combo 2D/3D card. I believe that 3DFX renamed the original VooDoo card the VooDoo 1000. Then the VooDoo 2 cards (8MB & 12MB add-in) were renamed VooDoo 2000.

Read the instructions again, and think about what you ask. Try following the list on a CDR-W so you don't waist it if you make mistakes. To answer your question: 1) YES you have to copy/paste all files form CD to an empty folder on your HD 2) Run SP2 from a different folder and point it to the Win2k folder that is on the HD The #2 will replace all required files to make the Windows 2000 with SP2 fixes. So you don't need the SP2 patch file any more but all the files from it will be included in the folder from step #1 3) If you kept reading the manual it would explain how to make the CD bootable. As I said, read and think before you ask, this ain't school.

A friend has a p2 AT bord, made by PcChips (the worst of the worst makers). But if you want to get P3 or Athlon then you are sol. You need a new power supply anyway, so spend another $15 for a nicer looking case.
