secondary video card with Tv-out & 2K compatible?
shadowraven replied to INFERNO2000's topic in Hardware
Trident made a pci video card with composite out that you could set with a jumper that would lock it into composite mode. I am using one at school to work with a mm projector. I had to lock it into composite because the software would not work as a secondary video card to change it back and forth. But once locked with the onboard jumper it worked fine. -
Still, do you have to set reset the resolution each time you boot? What driver version are you using. I d/l 1.04

Also the registry value was different in windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/software/microsoft/windowsnt/currentversion/opengl/drivers was this HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/software/microsoft/windowsnt/currentversion/opengldrivers/

It works but if only change your resolution and then change it back when you first start windows. If not the computer says it can not change the resolution for the game.

what version? I have tried all I can find. I am using a pci version on a asus cuv4x mainboard.
-
Which driver are you using? I tried 1.03 for voodoo 3 and the latest for voodoo 5.

Anyone using this in whistler? using 2410 and the ntbuild driver works fine but only with direct 3d. Anyone know of a way to use the windows 2k drivers? When I use them i only get 8 bit color desktop.

The easiest thing to do if your school is using dhcp is to get a hub and hook the hub into the rj45 jack and then hook the 2 computers into the hub. Option 2, 2 network cards in the server, 1 to the school network and one using a crossover cat 5 cable to the other computer. use the Network card connected to the server and enable NAT, or Internet sharing. I like the first one better, you can get a cheap hub from price watch 30 to 40 dollars. *Proxy servers usually do not work well with multiplayer games if both wanted to play on say zone.com.

This Tv card works fine under NT4 and 98se, but can not get it to work under 2k, It uses at bt829 chipset. Anyone have any ideas? I have tried the 98 and the nt 4 drivers, nogo. [This message has been edited by shadowraven (edited 02 July 2000).]

I have acouple of questions. Question 1: I have noticed on several differnet machines with different hardware of the favorites text button on the tool bar not working(sometimes), IE does not freeze, I simply have to click on the Favorites icon and open the frame to the right, but it is annoying. Anyone else seen this? Question 2: Anyone have rogue spear working right? I get like 4 fps, but unreal, mtm2, quake 1-3 work great. Just Rogue spear is slow, and the keys stick in the game. <!--I know off the subject. Question 3: To use the NAT or internet sharing in Win2k do I have to have all Win2k stations or can I have win95 for the workstations and Win2k as server? Question 4: Does Windows 2k not rock? I use Win 2k, Win95, and mandrake linux on my box, Win 2k is much better that the others. [This message has been edited by shadowraven (edited 16 February 2000).]

I upgraded from win98 se. I have ran this version of win2k on my machine before and had glide/ogl working. I got a new hd and decided to upgrade the system back to win2k, and can not get my voodoo 3 to work with glide/ogl. Games list glide/ogl like mtm2, and homeworld but will not use anything but direct 3d. I get around 48 fps with the direct 3d and want to try the other. Thanx.

I have problems with ogl and glide also. Quake 2 will not initialize, but direct 3d works fine.
