Here is the old INF for my printer. It starts to install and then says that it is an invalid data type. What can I do? I would really like to get my printer going. It is a OKI Okipage 4w. ; NTPRINT.INF (for SUR) ; ; List of supported printers, manufacturers ; [Version] Signature="$Windows NT$" Provider=OKIDATA LayoutFile=layout.inf ClassGUID={4D36E979-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} Class=Printer ; ; Manufacturer section. ; ; This section lists all of the manufacturers ; that we will display in the Dialog box ; [Manufacturer] "OKIDATA" ; ; Model sections. ; ; Each section here corresponds with an entry listed in the ; [Manufacturer] section, above. The models will be displayed in the order ; that they appear in the INF file. ; [OKIDATA] "OKIPAGE 4w" = OPML4W.DLL ;"OKIPAGE 4w Plus" = OPML4W.DLL ; ; Installer Sections ; ; These sections control file installation, and reference all files that ; need to be copied. secondary video card with Tv-out & 2K compatible?
shadowraven replied to INFERNO2000's topic in Hardware
Trident made a pci video card with composite out that you could set with a jumper that would lock it into composite mode. I am using one at school to work with a mm projector. I had to lock it into composite because the software would not work as a secondary video card to change it back and forth. But once locked with the onboard jumper it worked fine. -
Anyone using this in whistler? using 2410 and the ntbuild driver works fine but only with direct 3d. Anyone know of a way to use the windows 2k drivers? When I use them i only get 8 bit color desktop.

Still, do you have to set reset the resolution each time you boot? What driver version are you using. I d/l 1.04
-
Also the registry value was different in windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/software/microsoft/windowsnt/currentversion/opengl/drivers was this HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/software/microsoft/windowsnt/currentversion/opengldrivers/
-
It works but if only change your resolution and then change it back when you first start windows. If not the computer says it can not change the resolution for the game.

what version? I have tried all I can find. I am using a pci version on a asus cuv4x mainboard.
-
Which driver are you using? I tried 1.03 for voodoo 3 and the latest for voodoo 5.

The easiest thing to do if your school is using dhcp is to get a hub and hook the hub into the rj45 jack and then hook the 2 computers into the hub. Option 2, 2 network cards in the server, 1 to the school network and one using a crossover cat 5 cable to the other computer. use the Network card connected to the server and enable NAT, or Internet sharing. I like the first one better, you can get a cheap hub from price watch 30 to 40 dollars. *Proxy servers usually do not work well with multiplayer games if both wanted to play on say zone.com.

This Tv card works fine under NT4 and 98se, but can not get it to work under 2k, It uses at bt829 chipset. Anyone have any ideas? I have tried the 98 and the nt 4 drivers, nogo. [This message has been edited by shadowraven (edited 02 July 2000).]

I have acouple of questions. Question 1: I have noticed on several differnet machines with different hardware of the favorites text button on the tool bar not working(sometimes), IE does not freeze, I simply have to click on the Favorites icon and open the frame to the right, but it is annoying. Anyone else seen this? Question 2: Anyone have rogue spear working right? I get like 4 fps, but unreal, mtm2, quake 1-3 work great. Just Rogue spear is slow, and the keys stick in the game. <!--I know off the subject. Question 3: To use the NAT or internet sharing in Win2k do I have to have all Win2k stations or can I have win95 for the workstations and Win2k as server? Question 4: Does Windows 2k not rock? I use Win 2k, Win95, and mandrake linux on my box, Win 2k is much better that the others. [This message has been edited by shadowraven (edited 16 February 2000).]

ftp://ftp2.okidata.com/pub/drivers/led/oki4w3.exe I use this one. It works fine.

I upgraded from win98 se. I have ran this version of win2k on my machine before and had glide/ogl working. I got a new hd and decided to upgrade the system back to win2k, and can not get my voodoo 3 to work with glide/ogl. Games list glide/ogl like mtm2, and homeworld but will not use anything but direct 3d. I get around 48 fps with the direct 3d and want to try the other. Thanx.
-
I have problems with ogl and glide also. Quake 2 will not initialize, but direct 3d works fine.

I have imported the registry settings from win95 registry for rogue spear. Now when I try to run it I get an file that states Rogue Spear was unable to read options. When I set the video and sound card in the configuration program it does not keep them. Anyone elese know what I can do? Directx, ogl, and glide all work ok, I can play alot of other games with no problem. I hear the game works ok in beta 3, to bad my printer does not work with it or i would go back to it. Under beta 3, all games ran fast, but under RC 2, my games are all jumpy. I am running the driver and directx, ogl, and glide are running. Any ideas on speeding up the games. I used glide in Homeworld, and directx in rogue spear. They are unplayable at there speed. I am geting around 16 fps in these games. I have a celeron 300(not A), 96 mb ram, plenty of HD space free. Voodoo 2000. Thanks, Bruce Tolley

Using Beta3... Sound part of card works great but the game port will not now. I have tried manually adding one, and it say's it is working but to does not see even an analog joystick. Anyone know of a fix? Also anyone know how to get an okidata okipage4w to print in windows 2k? I can get it to print in win9x, 3.1 and even linux, but not win 2k :< Thnks SR

What version of win2k do you have? I still can't get it to install. I am told that the driver is not compatable with my version. I have ver 2039. Step by step if you do not mind how did you install the printer. It works fine in NT 4.0. Anyone else know how to get this thing printing?

How do you get ride of the version # at the bottom of the screen? In Windows 2000?
